Lousy app
The app does not work, called the support and was told the request fields missing and but the app is allowing me to log in and out of my mobile app! After log in to the Starbucks.com, I got error said the error is at the startbucks system level!! Called The tech support , she told me my account is not active??? I heard wrong info from tech support ( I just not convinced both time about why my account has system error) and it’s waste of my time! HORRENDOUS APP
Somehow, the app on its own accord decided to order from the wrong store and I ended up sitting in my home store location for five minutes before anybody even acknowledge me. Why the app does not know the same order that I make every other day at the same exact location but instead decides to select a separate location 3 miles away … absolute garbage

Lost an order
Wanted to treat myself to a Starbucks drink today.
Downloaded the app.
Loaded a prepaid Visa reward card.
Added the card.
Tried to order.
“Something went wrong.”
Called support.
Support was useless.
Fine. I’ll use Apple Pay instead.
Oh wait. The Starbucks app in 2026 doesn’t support Apple Pay for mobile orders.
At this point I’m genuinely impressed. Every single step of the process failed.
Starbucks spends billions building a global coffee empire and somehow still manages to make it difficult for a customer to buy a cup of coffee.
You can’t lose a sale easier than this. I literally showed up with money in hand and Starbucks successfully talked me out of giving it to them.

Frustrating outdated on line ordering
Super frustrated with the ordering process. I customize orders for a specific store location and when I hit enter, it says that store does not have what I am ordering. Why put me through the customization process? This happens at any Starbuck’s regardless of location. Alternatively, it will accept my order and when I go to pick it up, staff say they do not have what I ordered. I have on Starbuck’s a year ago and thought I’d give it another try. Guess not. I’ll try again in 2027

Can’t only pay for your meal
Who decided to only allow you to pay for your meal in gift card balance? No, I don’t want to reload my account with your communist monopoly dollars. I want to pay the exact amount for my meal. No one can convince me this isn’t rebranded extortion.

The reason is used Starbucks is now the same reason I stopped
The Starbucks app was the main reason I went to Starbucks. You can order anything you wanted and it would be ready when you showed up.
Now you order items you want and then when you show up the staff tells you they don’t have the item you ordered, can I get you something else ? If I wanted something else I would have ordered it . It has happened at different locations. It used to not let you order items they didn’t have at the store , but now they just do the bait and switch. Terrible all around.

Reward challenges don’t adequately credit you for your purchases
I like that I can order ahead online. I like that I can reload my card easily. However, the temporary reward challenges they offer do not adequately give you credit for what you purchased. Basically they trick you into buying more drinks and then don’t give you the rewards that were promised. The app does not function correctly in that respect

Refreshes cart if I leave app
Frustrating when placing an order and I background the app to check another app or a text when I come back to the Starbucks app it refreshes back to the home page and wipes out the entire order. Frustrating and has caused me to just cancel and not place an order at all. Leave the cart untouched and make the user have to delete the cart if they want. You should never be deleting the cart options already applied in the app.
