As far as functionality goes, the app works great. But it’s full of fake users (AI bots) who will comment on your covers and act like real users; the false validation is really harmful. How am I supposed to get feedback from the community when the only ones interacting with a video are robots? I find it disgusting. Worse is the total lack of moderation. I joined a chatroom so I could ask real users questions and the people in the chatroom were making constant vulgar sexual references and one user was even talking about being a pdf. It was completely serious, not some twisted joke. On the outside the chat looked completely friendly to children and once you leave, all evidence of misconduct you witnessed is permanently deleted. I also didn’t see a way to report any of this. The 9+ rating on this app is a joke, do not let your kids on here. There are too many predators and no moderation against them, despite the app claiming to protect minors. Let’s not even mention their sketchy privacy policy, they’re very likely using your voice to train their AI models

Created a Family group after farming for exp and posting a bunch and I later come to my family being joined by a bunch of children. I didn't realize starmaker had so many children because I was always recommended adult singers. They started sending pictures of their faces in the Family chat so I ended up dissolving the group. I made the Family because I am a gamer and the gaming system was super unique since it involved other people to participate. I really liked that aspect. But the fact that children were joining my family en masse was odd. It was definitely the algorithm. Thing is it takes 24 hours to dissolve a family so they are still able to message me. There's just a bunch of risky things in starmaker that they haven't accounted for. I just don't know what to do in this situation so the best option for me is to uninstall. I'm sad though because there goes all my effort in all the games I was playing. This was indeed a valuable experience though. I loved the features and everything. The one thing is because I came from roblox (I have thousands of hours in roblox) I understand so well that minor and adult interaction is not a good thing. It's that it makes me want to inform them about the internet safety but I ask AI and it tells me that's its not advised to parent other children. I feel like this is just a matter because the practices are super unsafe. Please remove the automessaging and I might end up using starmaker again. The notifications are also seriously bad as well. They say stuff like someone liked your cover go view theirs as well. Or when you follow someone back it it openly invites them to send voice and pictures back and forth. Not to mention when you open someone's profile it notifies them about your activity. Such privacy features to disable some things are either inaccessible or nonexistent. You cannot filter out children, which is seriously bad. There are a multitude of adults and children sharing the same space in the app. And this app is rated 9+ with no parental guidence. That means a child who is seemingly 9 or older can interact directly with any person they choose. And vice versa. 3 messages. You get three messages and then a mutual follow grants instant access to a large variety of communication. Photos and voice communication, and as aforementioned the app forces a message telling the other user that they can send audio and pictures. I know this is a relatively new app, but I'd hate to see such an amazing and wonderful application to self-destruct due to minimal safety measures.
tldr; Interaction with anyone regardless of age is bad. No safety disclaimers when enabling features such as Family joins. Automated messages should be removed including the deceptive and spontaneous notifications. There should be a way to turn off automatic messaging like welcoming messages and anything beyond that.

No one should ever get this app. Even though you put in a language that you sing in everyone in the app is like for Japanese so you don’t even know the songs. This app is definitely not for kids teens or really anyone. Anyone can text you and it is super unsafe in general . I got texted from a MAN in INDIA and would not stop texting I had to delete my account and then delete the app. Do not get this app it is low quality and so unsafe. Stay far away from this app. If I had a choice of 0 stars I would so choose it.

It won’t let you save your videos and it’s really really hard to sing because a lot of things are like way too fast so if you like singing like really fast so just go ahead and get this app, but I don’t like it

I do not like how young the app rating is this game is made for at least 18+ instead it says 9+ besides that the game is really boring you only get to record 6 songs before you have to sign in and give your private information away even though it says optional overall not a big fan there are a lot of creeps in the platform.

Read this right now so like I just got StarMaker I’m like I’m like singing a lot of songs and then one day later it says sorry can’t sing this song go to settings and then access microphone and then I go to settings and then I access microphone and then I sing the song again and it said sorry can’t hear you access microphone Fix that please or else I am deleting this app forever
Fake voice
So I was trying to sing but I made me sound sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo BAD it was making my voice echo and it was an ai agent so just don't try this it is terrible. 🤢🤮
Won’t let the song upload on StarMaker
After singing a song on StarMaker the song won’t upload to a 100% after Finnish singing a song . I took all the steps that was needed every step even ended up getting a new phone and it still did the same thing . You reach out to them about the problem took the picture to show them they don’t respond and you putting money into the app . The app developers will not respond.
Dont use this
I get soooooo many notifications per day which is super annoying and it only lets you sing a few songs before you have to do a free trial. I do NOT recommend whatsoever.
The review
One star from me this app is atrocious and horrendous. I tried to go live, but I couldn’t people kept reporting me as a minor. I am not a minor. I create a different account. I can report it as a minor on that one too so I try to delete the other accounts that I have once I made another one, but they don’t even have a delete option so I tried to join this guy’s live/party and it wouldn’t let me because it reported me as a sketchy account or a multiple account user StarMaker sucks.

This is the WORST app for karaoke I have ever used! And when I say the worst I mean THE WORST! The karaoke part was good I like the songs you can choose from. But the people who can message you within the app is what makes it so horrible! One person messaged me from the app and said “ love me “!!! this app is where safety for everyone goes to die! There are children playing with this app and the part where people can message you isn’t safe! You should HAVE to make an account before you get to use the app and you should HAVE to set your REAL age before you can use this! I would have given this app 0 stars if I could. God bless everyone

Not a customer friendly support
I have been getting no messages for multiple account not allowed for some set of things like party, group, family, etc. I reached out to support email multiple times mentioning that I am using only I device and sharing all the profile details, I only got standard reply. Very much unsatisfied with support and need more improvement for resolving customer issues with better engagement.

I tried to log in and it keeps saying I can't because it isn't the right format. I deleted it and downloaded it again and it still didn't work. I can't even use the app. This sucks.

Saw this and thought, oh it’s free and looks fun, but I can’t log in it always says there’s an internet error and I have perfectly fine internet on other apps so… I’m just stuck!
Not good
You have to sign in to save the songs, and when you sign it doesn’t even work. And when you sing the song you can see the lyrics, and hear the music, but you can’t hear the lyrics in the actual song!

I think it’s broken.
I was singing running the show but after I sang I didn’t hear my voice. I just downloaded this game for NOTHING! All these games are scamming me into downloading them. I’m never downloading another game like this again. This game is terrible.
