It was great for 9 months while it lasted
This app and my annual Apple Store subscription worked fine for over 9 months and without warning on the evening of 5/5/26, all of my devices using the STARZ app became disconnected. I was not able to log in as well. STARZ support was no help. I have several streaming apps and subscriptions through Apple that work 100% perfectly, yet, the STARZ app and subscription is now not accessible. STARZ support replied they can not help me since my IPS address or related connection has been blocked by them. Why? They couldn’t even tell me. Suffice to say, my 1GB FIOS internet connection is rock stable with all other streaming services and all of the other apps I use. STARZ is the -only- app and subscription that for whatever reason, stopped working during the evening of 5/5/26. Fortunately my subscription expires in August 2026 and I’m done with them. --Avoid STARZ--. They will not make any effort to reset your account nor offer any way to get you reconnected, even when you’ve paid in full for an annual subscription with them.

How does this pass QA?
How do you allow an app to go to production where on the iPhone 17 and newest OS causes your app to break when rotating it from landscape mode or also responding to a text message. This is horrible development practices, a dev should have caught this before QA and yet here we are

Horrible
I hope they fix this app soon. I like watching shows on my way to work while I on the train, I download episodes on this app and if I have no service they just wouldn’t play or don’t continue playing once I lose service, what’s the point of being able to download it? Also the player sometimes randomly closes and you have to go back to the episode to see it doesn’t even save the spot you were watching it at. When I open the app none of the shows I watch are there, none of the episodes are in “continue watching” so I always have to search it. Also when I watch and want to pause it because I need to do something, the show or movie just unpauses and starts playing, when I pause it it unpauses again so I literally have to close the app and come back and search for that show or movie again and once again it doesn’t save the place where I was watching so I have to find it. It’s just so irritating and ruins the experience

Horrible user design
Terrible terrible app shut down a lot takes forever to open no matter how much memory you have on your phone or device system. Computer does not matter half the time doesn’t even let you pick up where you left off on your. I’m trying to figure out what episode of power I’m on and it still won’t even show me.

Compared to other streaming services, this is truly awful!
Does a horrible job at keeping track of where you are in a series. The content is very lacking. Had to force close the app twice on my iPhone and at least one time on my Apple TV, in just a couple days that I’ve used the service. No 4k content in 2026 is an insult. It isn’t worth $2 a month.

Starz did not work on our TV
Starz did not work on our TV because we have Xfinity streaming. The support line was not very helpful and not kind to us. We requested a refund from Apple from who we purchased the subscription to Starz.
We dealt with this nonsense and the help line for over 24 hours. The first time Starz returned our call was after we waited for 16 hours. We missed Outlander. Lots of stress and disappointing. We are waiting a refund from Apple for the Starz subscription.

So many problems!!
I was given the opportunity to subscribe for $2/month for a year as a gift for making a purchase online. Almost immediately I noticed how slow the app is and how much it randomly freezes. I have fiber internet and excellent cell service but it still doesn’t matter. It literally takes 30 seconds to just skip forward 10! If you leave the app, it will not save where you left off like most apps do with a “continue watching” section. And lastly, I downloaded about 7 different things to watch later and now they’re gone. Just disappeared! Not sure what the issues are but I hope they fix them! I can honestly say that as of right now, it’s not even worth the $2 a month!

Since this last update, I can’t sign-in on my iPhone. I actually spoke to a customer service representative and she stated the tech department would respond by email or a phone call. Worst APPLE TV app in history
Honestly, this app is a lesson in frustration. Every time we log in, it kicks us out, and it insists we have six devices connected when it’s the same Apple TV. The app doesn’t remember where we left off, so we get to rewatch shows-or worse, we get silence because the audio glitches. The icing on the cake? Forced trailers. We pay for the app and still endure ads we can’t skip. Every attempt to use it means another tedious log-in. At this point, it’s easier to just buy shows on iTunes. The app isn’t just bad; it’s practically begging us not to use it.

Annoying loud music on startup
A pretty annoying app. There is a really loud promo ad that plays on startup now. Apps should start silently. This super annoying on Apple TV. Even worse, the Apple TV version of the app keeps losing the login info when you use the “login through TV provider” option, which is inexcusable.

I’ve canceled when my first year was over and I don’t want this streaming service anymore. So why are they still trying to pull out of my account after I’ve cancelled twice now. Also why do you have to hit cancel 8 times. If I want to cancel then I want to cancel not asked if I am sure 8 freaking times. I also have screenshot of my confirmation of cancellation both times. I also have the emails I’ve sent. i never write reviews but the way this app makes me feel i think it's worth it. id give it zero stars if possible. the stupid opening ad it plays when u open the app. the stars logo that keeps popping up in the corner is annoying. i bought a subscription to watch outlander, and then it stars playing a minute long preview for season 8 which you cant skip.. so it gives spoilers for people not caught up with season 7. and after reading reviews these have all been issues for months and i guess starts just cant be bothered to fix up a service that people are paying money for. i'm canceling my subscription as soon as i finish outlander.

Ads even with paid sub ?!?
Even with a paid subscription the app riddles you with ads you cannot skip. You get an ad once you open the app, no choice. Select a show to watch then you get 1-2 other ads you can’t skip to shows you may have no interest in. App doesn’t sync with the mobile app often so you have to remember where you were when watching. All around mess.

Why are we subjected to having to watch an advertisement before we can use the app? My patience with these annoyances is over. It’s almost as dumb as watching an advertisement to watch an advertisement or trailer.
