Grinding soulless game, no fun anymore
As someone who played the original, this sequel is a massive disappointment. They cranked up fake difficulty and forgot what made the game fun. Combat is unbearably slow and it takes literal minutes of spamming hits just to kill a small animal. Tools make no sense (a stick breaks wood faster than a stone axe?), and cooking food or finding coal/any ore is a miserable guessing game. There's no intuitive crafting, no guidance and survival feels more like a punishment than a challenge. It's not "realistic" it's just badly designed. I bought this for nostalgia but it feels like they gutted the soul of the original and replaced it with frustration. It’s a grinding simulator. This is not survival craft as it was.
Honestly don’t buy this
I hate writing bad reviews, but I think it’s fair to warn people before spending money. Im ten minutes into the game, and it won’t let me adjust the controls to fit my screen. The settings don’t have an option to move the controls inward. It won’t let me craft anything and the help tab doesn’t explain what to do about it. I can put the item in slot to craft, but I’m unable to take the item out that I wanted to craft. Example, I put in wood, but was unable to get the wood planks. As a result, my character got sick because of the rain. I couldn’t build a shelter because I couldn’t even craft basic items. 😭 I remember this game being actually playable when I was a kid. I came for the nostalgia, but lowkey just got annoyed. I hope that this criticism is taken to heart and the developers can fix these bugs

The downloads don’t work!
I have tried downloading skins, worlds, and textures, but I can for some reason. It keeps saying the same thing- that there’s an error and it can’t find the link to download the world or the link just doesn’t exist. Please fix this! I have been playing this game for years and on Survivalcraft one they all worked. Why aren’t they working in newer games?
Mostly abandoned. :(
This app had a minor update for bug fixes, but the developer goes radio silent for 6 - 12 - 18 months at a time, with no messages to the players, no announcements, there is a Discord (but that is run and contributed to, by everyone else) for the customers of the app and those who “play” the game.

The word “play” is in quotes because it’s not really playable, it’s a sandbox, so you can achieve many things, but you can never win, or finish, and at some point you will fall off a cliff, catch on fire, get the flu 🤢🤮 freeze to death, drown, or get eaten by a shark. This is only a sub-set of the doom that awaits you if you play this, and invest your time.
The game has multiplayer but only if you do split-screen on your device and play 1 on 1.
Note to “Kaalus” (the developer) - you have brought some good things to the app, like file system / compression fix so we’re not out of storage so quickly, you added more variety to the animals, but I don’t understand the new birds - why tease with the eggs you need a million to stay alive.? Why did we need 3D models of things like vines (chrome plating)?
The only real issue is you had no long term VISION for the future of SC2, you did a few cool things one upon a time, BUT you should respect your players and customers more, and give some sign of life, so they know you didn’t drop dead. Stop posting about “bugs” (or whatever it’s called) on the Wordpress page.

Pair that on top of mobile touchscreen controls being naturally inefficient for this kind of game play and the combat comes off very clunky and difficult. it was literally right in front of me and I had an axe but I was functionally defenseless.
Not to mention if you die near spawn on the first few nights before you have a well guarded spawn you might as well just start a new run because they will pretty much soft-lock you into a merciless spawn kill loop.

Good concept, but needs huge fixes.
First of all, I’d like to start with the positives. I love the realism and all the challenges you face. It’s a step up from Minecraft and really would be fun for anyone looking for a more in depth experience. Love the mechanics and the mobs. Now to the negatives. Missing hits. I understand the need to make it harder but it’s like every other hit is a miss. I’ve had up to 8-9 misses in a row to the point where it was ridiculous. There should be a way to turn it off completely. Also, weapons do hardly any damage and need to be fixed. It would also be nice to be able to toggle decomposition. That being said, it's lost its charm to me because of these issues. I just wish they’d update some of the mechanics or at least make settings more customizable. I want to be able to turn off the garbage leveling system, toggle some of the realism settings, and possibly have difficulty settings. You can either play creative and have no challenge at all or play survival and get spawn trapped by a predator and die 50 times because 75% of your punches miss and the animal has insane health. All it would take to make this a huge hit is for there to be difficulty controls to toggle certain settings. Gameplay is fun when it works but mechanics kill it.
