The SwitchBot hub keeps resetting device (blinds) names such that it breaks HomeKit automations. The relay devices WiFi cannot recover from disconnection inside app and requires a power cycle

Last update killed matter support it now removes from matter on its own. I set it up again and unlinks itself.
Use of AI
I loved this camera, but now that they are using AI I no longer feel safe using this product.
UNSATISFACTORY
I would have given it less than 1 star, but if I did I would not be able to write a review. I have been trying to get a confirmation number to join and pair my item to the app, however I have not received the number after numerous attempts. I have also emailed Support and even called the 800 number on the app (waited on Hold for 1hr and 59 minutes) with no answer, other than “your call is very important….” DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Questionable Design Choice
This app gives us 60 seconds to enter verification code from email. 60 seconds. From email, not from text. Seriously? Who designed this app??
Glitchy and colossal
SwitchBot’s hardware seems nice. However, the app has always been pretty janky across the board, and now it’s also about 600MB. Please do better.

The data from hubs doesn’t load in the app until you open it which takes forever. Why doesn’t it load in the background?
Really wanted this to work
The amount of time I’ve spent trying to reconnect and re mapping this thing, I could’ve vacuumed an entire Malibu mansion by myself
Find signal didn’t activate
I spent two hours looking for my wallet that had the card in it. It never signaled or produce a sound when I would activate it after I found it. I noticed they still had good battery and still would not signal. So I took it outside and I took a hammer to it deleting this app as well.
Still no support for sunset/sunrise or daylight saving time?
It is a pain to have to change the schedules for the many curtain bots twice a year, and it is a major pain to follow the changing sunsets throughout the years. Why don’t you have support for adjusting automatically by when sunset is?
Garbage
Half baked app with a terrible UI… seems like it was vibe coded rather than built by actual software engineers. Hardware is also junk - doesn’t maintain connection and unreliable. It’s a shame, but there are other companies in this space and if not improved, SwitchBot will not last. Use another vendor - this is trash
USE TO WORK
WiFi for devices saying wrong password and it’s the correct password. IM CERTAIN it is correct and it’s happening to almost all my devices please fix.
Absolute garbage
Device claims to be Matter-capable. This is incorrect. In order to get the device to work via Matter, not only do I have to download this app (which undoubtedly sells yer personal data), it’s now telling me I have to buy one of their hubs as well. Will be returning the device. 0/10, complete garbage, do not buy.
Horrible does not work with Alexa
Purchase several devices, including motion sensor and none of them will work with Alexa. This is a scam.

Keeps crashing
The app keeps crashing every time I try to add a bot switch.
Violates your trust with marketing notifications
I just outfitted my home with several leak detectors and was quite pleased at how easy they were to set up and use. Unfortunately, the app violated my trust in granting it notification permissions with a marketing ad today for the SwitchBot S20. App vendors that use notifications to steal your attention intended for a real emergency in your home to try to sell you something are despicable, and you should choose a different vendor for your smarthome needs.
They send advertisements through push notifications
Completely unacceptable behavior given how important their notifications are.

After the latest firmware update to the hub, HomeKit shows no response.
Lock Keeps going offline
I purchased the SwitchBot lock pro about a year ago and it was a simple install. However, the lock randomly disappears from the home page or hub and never comes back. So I have to redo the entire calibration process all over again including the pairing the keypad back to the lock. I’ve done this process over and over and over again probably dozens of times. I got tired of it so I just stopped and use it as is. Since it still works without using the app I don’t even use the app anymore I just use it and charge up batteries every few months.
Need a hub now?
