Use of AI
I loved this camera, but now that they are using AI I no longer feel safe using this product.
UNSATISFACTORY
I would have given it less than 1 star, but if I did I would not be able to write a review. I have been trying to get a confirmation number to join and pair my item to the app, however I have not received the number after numerous attempts. I have also emailed Support and even called the 800 number on the app (waited on Hold for 1hr and 59 minutes) with no answer, other than “your call is very important….” DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Questionable Design Choice
This app gives us 60 seconds to enter verification code from email. 60 seconds. From email, not from text. Seriously? Who designed this app??
Glitchy and colossal
SwitchBot’s hardware seems nice. However, the app has always been pretty janky across the board, and now it’s also about 600MB. Please do better.

Really wanted this to work
The amount of time I’ve spent trying to reconnect and re mapping this thing, I could’ve vacuumed an entire Malibu mansion by myself
Find signal didn’t activate
I spent two hours looking for my wallet that had the card in it. It never signaled or produce a sound when I would activate it after I found it. I noticed they still had good battery and still would not signal. So I took it outside and I took a hammer to it deleting this app as well.
Still no support for sunset/sunrise or daylight saving time?
It is a pain to have to change the schedules for the many curtain bots twice a year, and it is a major pain to follow the changing sunsets throughout the years. Why don’t you have support for adjusting automatically by when sunset is?
Garbage
Half baked app with a terrible UI… seems like it was vibe coded rather than built by actual software engineers. Hardware is also junk - doesn’t maintain connection and unreliable. It’s a shame, but there are other companies in this space and if not improved, SwitchBot will not last. Use another vendor - this is trash
USE TO WORK
WiFi for devices saying wrong password and it’s the correct password. IM CERTAIN it is correct and it’s happening to almost all my devices please fix.
Absolute garbage
Device claims to be Matter-capable. This is incorrect. In order to get the device to work via Matter, not only do I have to download this app (which undoubtedly sells yer personal data), it’s now telling me I have to buy one of their hubs as well. Will be returning the device. 0/10, complete garbage, do not buy.
Horrible does not work with Alexa
Purchase several devices, including motion sensor and none of them will work with Alexa. This is a scam.

Keeps crashing
The app keeps crashing every time I try to add a bot switch.
Violates your trust with marketing notifications
I just outfitted my home with several leak detectors and was quite pleased at how easy they were to set up and use. Unfortunately, the app violated my trust in granting it notification permissions with a marketing ad today for the SwitchBot S20. App vendors that use notifications to steal your attention intended for a real emergency in your home to try to sell you something are despicable, and you should choose a different vendor for your smarthome needs.
They send advertisements through push notifications
Completely unacceptable behavior given how important their notifications are.

Too much ads for other services
Whatever you do, do not get any of their cameras, you will be flooded with ads pushing to pay for their cloud service.

This app is literally the worse thing on the planet. I would rather get triple aids then download this app again. It hard locked my phone and wouldn’t let me do anything because of a notification that popped up and I couldn’t dismiss it. I tried using Siri to turn off my phone but that wouldn’t work. I had to learn how to hard reset my phone to get it to work. iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Died after a year
Absolutely horribly disappointed. I spent over $1000 on the S10 vacuum and humidifier. Not even a year later it stopped connecting. Now I’ve spent an hour troubleshooting and resetting everything just to have a $1k brick that won’t do anything. Terribly disappointed with how much time and money I’ve wasted on this. I take care of it and replaced everything as needed. Would love a refund if it was still possible. Such a waste.

I believe I’ve been scammed
I purchased the Wallet Finder some weeks ago, and just got around to trying to set it up today. The necessary app demands my SwitchBot account - but does not allow me to create one. The help documents were useless. I found my way to the website, but even there, links to create an account would not open, nor would the offered ‘verification’ link, scamfully misspelled ‘verfication.’ I will be taking this purchase up with my credit card company.
Useless app
I bought expensive SwitchBot so I can open drapes from office but it’s not working. There is no way I can schedule. There is not connection between Alexa or google.

The application requires you to share your location. It is unnecessary for the application to work, so what are they doing with that information? Who are they selling it to?

I can never EVER get the app to load my cameras, half the time they say disconnected even though I can see them still operating. App is terrible and doesn't load
Can’t read battery level!
Using the latest iPhone 16 Pro and iOS 18.1 going into the menu to read the firmware and battery level is broken. Clicking on it and nothing happens.
terrible support
unable to add members to my home, tells me to contact support, but no one ever responds. even chat on the website is useless. ai bot keeps saying it doesnt understand my question, even when i pick their pre made response. the physical lock is great, the app is just terrible, and its a shame i have to return it now.

i mailed the item back for a return, but was told my refund was denied because it was missing the cleaning tissue, which was used during the installation. like that just blows my mind. its also kind of sad that i get a response, here, because of a justifiable negative review, but still havent heard anything back regarding my technical issue. after this experience though, ill never trust this company ever again.

Needs work
The app can feel sluggish. Most important thing is widget. There is no shortcut to open and close door lock. The widget used to have that in iOS 17 but but I do not see it in 18 anymore. Please work on locking and unlocking doors without going into app all the time. Either have a shortcut or like you did before use widget
Loses functionality often
Requires a lot of updates and doesn’t work properly with the new iOS. Shortcuts and widgets are both gone!

So I have to redo the entire calibration process all over again including the pairing the keypad back to the lock. I’ve done this process over and over and over again probably dozens of times. I got tired of it so I just stopped and use it as is. Since it still works without using the app I don’t even use the app anymore I just use it and charge up batteries every few months.

I can no longer turn my lights on or off when I’m away from home. This feature has worked for years until recently. I really need this to work again!
Widgets?
I had a temperature monitor for a year or so and decided to get the bundle with three more monitors and the mini hub so I could check my temperatures anywhere and see them on the fly with the handy widget option. After setting up everything I could not get the widgets to work. It was a big selling point to me. After some research I found out that they did not keep up with current iOS updates and their widget options do not work. This is basic app maintenance that they should have know about for a while before the iOS update came out.
Why would I bother expanding my SwitchBot home if they can’t keep up with these basic things? Makes it feel like it is a deteriorating app.
