It’s definitely showing exactly what is combined with food.

Before the new update the apps was tolerable with ads, now with the new update everything is hidden behind a paywall, the greed is crazy coming from the muslim ummah this is purely taking advantage of us muslim brothers and sisters. I used to look at the ingredients and specifics before and now its just full of ads and greed and everything is stuck behind a paywall i DO not recommend this app anymore.

I paid for the premium subscription which should come with unlimited scans but I get an error message that says I’ve run out of scans and should upgrade to premium….? See photo.
If this gets fixed I’d change my review, it’s a helpful app but I need to be able to scan more than 5 things every 11 hours…
Edit: developer contacted me and asked for images of the error. No response when I sent it. No change. I’ve paid for a product I’m not receiving. Can still only scan 5 items before being locked out for 10 hours, which is supposed to be solved when you PAY FOR PREMIUM. Going on 10 days paying for something I’m not receiving.
Edit: No follow up or response from developer after another 5 days. DO NOT PAY FOR PREMIUM, it’s a scam at this point unless the developer actually does something in the next week I will be taking the next steps to notify Apple.

Listing items scanned as haram & the explanation will be an ingredient that is not even listed on the label! I had the premium at one point & even like to be more careful. But really what is this

Not working

Not sure why a product is launched before doing proper testing. I’m trying to use this app in USA when I open the app. It asks me to accept and when I hit the accept button, it continues giving me an error saying I haven’t given the consent to all to use the free version and there is no prompt to further make any selection. God knows how this application is expected to work.

2 issues.
1. Runs a long ad after each scan, so I have to wait before scanning another product. I spent almost 5-6 minutes in one aisle for buying one item.
2. Doesn’t have halal verification for even most common things. Either it says “mushbooh” or no info. For example I scanned 2 lays brand dips and for no info and mushbooh. Scanned Sam’s cheese and no info, scanned other cheese and mushbooh. If these items have no info then what do I need this app for? Not for scanning veggies. Usually my country items are mentioned “halal” so I need app for USA products.

Asalam AleKum brother and sister this app is not true app because I scan some stuff on this app say it’s halal but the wasn’t halal because on the back I see on the back it’s say gelatin and then I wasn’t to this thing have gelatin and then I eat it often the my brother say do you know this thing have gelatin I say no way I eat all of them then when I say on the back I see it’s say gelatin.

Its been 3 times I have scanned items which are shown Haram, but the ingredients I read, I havent seen any Haram products but some products which is shown Halal by app, it has Haram ingredients. This is why I am confused and even couldn’t believe this app.

App is rife with misinformation. It seems like the app is using multi-decade-old information to decide that a lot of halal products are haram. For example:
Almost all hydrogenated oils are immediately considered haram - not mushbooh, but haram. Up until 2006, manufacturers were allowed to use a compound of rapeseed oil and pork jelly to create an emulsifier. This stopped in 2006, and the only companies that have been allowed to do so since have been ones that create high-protein products like protein bars. Yet Jif peanut butter and Girl Scout cookies come up as haram because of this emulsifier! (just to be clear, and to prove that I’m not BSing anyone, scan a box of Girl Scout Samoas and it will come up as haram; ALL Girl Scout cookies are 100% certified halal directly from the company). SINCE 2006 ANY PRODUCT NOT LABELED “HIGH PROTEIN” THAT USES HYDROGENATED OILS USES 100% RAPESEED OIL! THERE IS NOTHING HARAM ABOUT IT!
The other thing: ANYTHING with alcohol in it is considered instantly haram. How many scholars do we need to tell us that alcohol consumed for taste as part of food that isn’t capable of intoxication is 100% halal before we stop labeling things like vanilla extract or beer battered fish as haram? Literally how can these things be haram? By the time anything is cooked to a safe temperature, all the alcohol has evaporated. Even in situations where vanilla extract is used in things not cooked, for example milkshakes or frostings, the amount in it isn’t capable of getting you intoxicated thus halal. The same goes with brandy or other boozes being lit ablaze to complete a dish; by the time the food is eaten, the alcohol is gone thus halal.
These two simple issues result in, from my estimations after spending about 18 hours on the app, roughly 25% of all items labeled as haram actually being halal. Any app with a failure rate like this isn’t worth using, period. This needs to be fixed or nobody in good conscious can use this app.
My recommendation: find a real website or app that talks about the most dangerous/likely to miss haram ingredients/additives and just do your best to memorize those or put them in a note saved to your phone so you can scan for them whenever you buy a new product. An overwhelming majority of things that don’t contain pork, insects, or high amounts of alcohol meant for drinking are halal, and apps like this are just designed to scare you into freaking out over all the foods you eat so that you keep using the app as you look for alternatives. Don’t use it.
Response to developer 9/20/24: I see the developer responded essentially making a whole bunch of excuses for why their app is low quality and not worth using. Essentially, telling me that it’s on the user to add their own customizations before the app will work correctly. Essentially, fix it yourself, because the developer has no intention of fixing it.
Listen, I understand why things can be customized. A lot of people’s interpretations are different and some people may want to abstain entirely from things such as vanilla extract or beer batter. Allowing people to add customizations is essential, and an appreciated feature.
The problem is, my issues don’t lie solely on things that should need to be customized. My issues exist entirely on the plane of misinformation.
The point still stands that so many products universally accepted as halal are listed as haram on this app. Whether or not that can be customized doesn’t matter, and it’s insane to use that as an excuse. I expect some mild setting-up of a new app to need to take place much like it does on other apps, but telling me to correct your mistake when you’re literally giving factually incorrect information is just completely and utterly bonkers. Your app lies. Your app lists certified halal products as haram. That isn’t on me to fix. Are you joking? Are you being serious right now? Cmon habibi, do better.

There’s only one option that says click here to accept you. Click on it and then the app doesn’t work. It says you didn’t agree to all consent. There is error in the app. You guys need to fix it.

This app is not accurate. Please be sure to check before consuming any food labeled halal. Need gummy clusters scanned halal but are actually haram. As-salamu alaikum.

It’s the most useless app i am traveling and i tried to check halal food and everything is not found by barcode i hate it so much

Everybody knows this app is not accurate. U can go and scan alcohol in walmart and it will show u it is halal!!!! Seriously?

You are scanning the bar code of a package. The app name gives the wrong impression as if you can search for halal food.
Please fix the name of the app.

I scanned a product that had KMF Halal in it says it’s haram I double check so to make sure I wasn’t wrong i checked the ingredients to there wasn’t any haram ingredients

I installed this one in android back in 2019 and it is still working fine. But now installed it in my iphone and it is not scanning or anything

So 2 weeks ago I scanned a product to see if it was halal and the app told me it was halal but I felt suspicious about it so for some reason I decided to check the ingredients and it CLEARLY said “gelatin (pork)” on it, which if it just said gelatin I would be fine with it because there is halal gelatin made with beef but it said pork right next to it which is one of the most haram things to eat but it wasn’t letting me write a review for some reason and I just read that they updated the app to change the status of some products so maybe they fixed it but I was so disgusted when the app told me that a product with pork gelatin was halal

I tried to use the on a ham product to check the credibility. And I was shocked when I got the result “ halal “ that happened several time so I will delete the app

How can a product containing pork be halal?

I subscribed to the app to get all the benefits. Unfortunately, the app stopped working after a few scenes in the store.
