Full of cheating vendors
If you think this e-commerce has cheap buys you may be lucky in 70% of the time. If you get a bad or knockoff product the cost of RETURN/REFUND shall make you lose out about 15% of what you paid. You'll incur loses for no mistake of yours. Taobao do not have FULL MONEY BACK POLICIES. They make you go through lots of procedure for claims and their CUSTOMER SERVICE do not keep records of the conversations. Each time you have to start explaining from the beginning. POOR SHOW‼️

Not usable for people from the US, even if you are physically in China
Cannot change language to English before you verify your account. They won’t allow verification from people from the US at all, so don’t waste your time if you are.

won't let me do ANYTHING without demanding i verify with a phone number, just to say service isnt available in my region. why the hell is it on my app store then?

it keeps telling me to do some id verification thing to continue using the app, ive made like 3 different accounts to avoid this because there shouldn’t be any need to.. all of them have gotten restricted aswell as warnings for fraud (which is untrue) please this app is great but it would be better if people from the u.s. could also be able to use it😞
No real non Chinese language support
Usage of this app is very difficult for people that don’t read Chinese. It claims English language support but this is only available in select locations such as Singapore, not the US. The mobile phone number verification is finicky at best. There’s also passport upload verification required. If it detects you’re using a vpn, to pretend you’re in a country with English support, it may ban your account. I get constant unusual network activity blocks

Language and verification
Literally almost impossible to verify unless you download the app, and the settings won’t change to English. Also it keeps restricting me and I don’t know why.

English is not available
The advertising for the app claims English as a language and it is not available. Every other app supports multiple languages. How is it that Chinese apps cant imbed English language capabilities? This isn’t difficult.
几年不见怎么这么拉了
打算回国，所以最近在尝试登入账号，结果发现几年没有用过的账号被暂时封禁和限制。我人在海外，判定我包括但是不限于翻墙，违规浏览器插件（但是我用的app）、出售数据or/and等问题，我这么久没有登入过了，实名认证都是今天刚刚认证的，那么就描述里面包括的罪名、这个租借账号请问是怎么租出去的？其次是出售数据等，我几年都没有登入，怎么买的数据，如果一个没有登入的号被买数据了不应该是你们的锅吗？是你们把我的数据买了还差不多。申诉的照片是上传不了的，点了很久是无效的。实名认证是要的，认证完了出现问题、具体是触犯了什么问题是不说的。
The apps power hungry after update
Yesterday I updated both my iPhone and this app to latest version, charged my phone to 100% and sleep, to my surprise taobao continue running 9h33m in the background and consumes 9% battery. This is so annoying since it’s just a shopping app, I don’t know if there’s any mining process underway or privacy related issues, but the experience sucks.

Impossible to get through verification
It’s almost IMPOSSIBLE to get through verification even worse you can even switch the language to English unless you verify first which is stupid considering you have to do the WHOLE verification in Chinese, the verification process is very difficult you either have to be from China or some Asian country only way you can get through is by downloading ANOTHER app to show your passport, don’t even get me started on THAT even if you do put in your passport there’s a high chance that it will still get invalided and force you to show Chinese citizenship which is impossible if you’re in United States or anywhere that isn’t China. Don’t waste your time on this app trying to get it to work.
Keeps restricting me
I was just trying to use the app when it tells me I’m restricted due to unusual activity and that I’ll only be able to resume normal operation after a few hours. I decided to wait it out. When I did, I was able to browse for 20 minutes. However, I was then restricted for a longer time of 8 hours. Again, I chose to wait until the time was over. Today I opened the app and clicked on one item. Immediately, I get restricted, but now a really long time of 17 hours. I can’t even shop properly because of this, and I’m not even doing anything “unusual”. I’ll see if it will finally let me shop after 17 hours, but it has gotten kind of annoying.

I just downloaded this app and I thought it would be nice for help me with my Chinese and get sued to everything but there’s no option for English, and i don’t mind it being Chinese but at least put an English option if you’re gonna make the app global. And also why did I get a restriction the very second I joined. I can’t even scroll and I already get restrictions left and right i didn’t do anything I just joined. Fix the damn app or remove it and leave it in China plz

Supper hard to login, everything is in a different language and have to use Google Translate every time. It even asked for Chinese verification Id, like what. I overall don’t recommend it.

There is an 10billion promotion activity nationwide currently. I saw some very attractive pricing multi-vitamin pills, so ordered 2 bottles of them. Half day passed, I tried to check shipping situation. The order showed me it has been canceled due to transaction RISK! What the heck? I’m not a daily online shopper, nor try to take any illegal advantage of anyone. How the heck I could be rated as transaction risk? After a little bit of searching, it appears that these kind of order cancelling behavior have been going on for quite a while. Countless consumers have been cancelled their purchases due to all kinds of risk reasons. This platform has been doing such kind of conduct for at least one year long. In that case, the only thing I can do is avoid wrong doing platform as much as I can, and try to find some other platform like PDD to be a normal customer!

Great but theres a big problem
I sign up, put stuff into my cart, my account is doing good. Then all of a sudden, my account gets restricted? i didnt even do anything in my account other than put stuff in my account.
