Over the years, TaxDay was a decent, easy to use app, even if on the expensive side.
In early 2025 they did a major software change and it rarely tracks locations correctly. Support is slow to respond and always says a fix is on the way, that doesn’t fix.
If you want a tax tracking app, TaxDay is NOT able to do that. Sad for them, they have destroyed their product.

Don’t update it!
App is super sluggish after update in Sept 2025. If you have it don’t update it. Web portal is unresponsive.

Appeals to customer service are very spotty. I tried multiple times to appeal and didn’t always get an answer. Time to get a new tracking app.
Useless
I agree with other recent reviews. The upgrade destroyed functionality and the app is now useless. Do not purchase!

This app was always a little finicky but it did the job it was supposed to… but in June 2025 they decided to upgrade to a new technology stack and it’s now useless.
After the “upgrade”, tracking was inconsistent (missed multiple days at time) and even when it did track the times were completely wrong. Attempts to reach out to customer service were futile (probably because they were overwhelmed) but for an app that was on the more expensive end of the spectrum they really f’d up this rollout.
Avoid this app and go for one of the cheaper alternatives like TaxBird or Sarmiza

Horribly unreliable
This app signs me out constantly and has made day tracking impossible.
App was good
Stopped working a couple of weeks ago. Can’t get any support. FAQs regarding location GPS don’t make sense. Settings, account settings????? Where???
Can’t even finish sign up
I don’t understand how this app was released. The basic entry fields in the app aren’t labeled and all the text you enter is white on a white background. I was finally able to guess the fields they wanted, but then couldn’t enter dates into when I was where over the past number of months.
I don’t get it. Completely and totally unusable. Why bother releasing this to the App Store?

Can’t get past registration on iPhone 11
The sign up screens don’t work. Text fields don’t accept text, got to step two of a 5 step registration process and app simply doesn’t allow any input or way to succeed. Can’t find any support articles to solve.

I hope this app improves but for now it's confusing. Inquiries to customer support bounce and go unanswered, even though I'm a paying subscriber.
Unreliable
Frequently cuts out and stops recording where I am. Randomly deleted two weeks worth of location data. No customer support.
Data hog
While I love this app and it’s very useful for me, it uses a HUGE amount of data in the background. Last month is used 3.8 GB of my cellular data and I’m having to look for alternatives because of that.
