Not easy to delete account
These clowns make it nearly impossible for you to delete your account. They don't allow you to delete online or via the app, you have to send them an email requesting to delete it and yet they never reply. Ridiculous
Buggy app money LOST
This is absolutely unacceptable. I am unable to restore my subscription and the support is awful. Don’t waste your money. Also when you pay it’s not always the best price they offer multiple rates for the same pro subscription. BEWARE!!!
Capitalism ruined this app
This used to be awesome. A great resource for camping. Now if you want to see FREE camping you have to pay. Absolutely not, capitalism ruined this resource. I paid for premium before because I could and wanted to support a great app. But locking the good part behind the subscription is greedy. Byyyeee Dyrt! I’ll just go back to researching my public lands before a trip.
Not very helpful
Generally, when using a paid camping app you want it to provide something valuable. Have not found that to be the case while I was a member. 1. Never got scanning for cancelled sites to do anything. It’s much easier to go to recreation.gov and put in your own searches and notification requests. That has worked much better in getting hard to book sites. 2. Does not work in Canada. Zero. Nothing. 3. All the other information they provide is readily available on other free sites (Campendium for one. Google is another). Bottom line, save your nickel and don’t sign up for paid membership with this app.

The app is very limited unless you pay.
No customer support
I asked for support on cancelling my reservation, because that is not clear in the app, or online. All I got was a guy replying with instructions on how to do it myself, but the instructions were wrong. My reservation was never cancelled and I never received a refund. I will never use this service again.
Trial subscription farm
There are no useful features the entire purpose of this app is to get you to use the free trial then hope you forget and get auto charged the yearly subscription that adds no value to the app or your life

Bait and switch
We saw online they offered a Black Friday special for a year free. Being avid campers and travels we thought we would check it out and we if it was beneficial to us. Although it could be useful for new comers to places, most of all the I donation about anything we traveled to or stayed at we either already knew or found out by the local info.
I cancelled and deleted the app since it wasn’t useful, but over the course of the next month or so I have literally continued to be charged 59.99 over and over. After speaking with Apple, and emailing this company over and over they still continue to charge me. Lucky it’s on my family account with no payment attached to it so it keeps rejecting, but enough is enough. Be cautious about any marketing scheme they are pulling to get you locked into a subscription you don’t want.

Look but don’t buy?
Opened the app then it tells you can look around for 1 week then they bill you for $60/year. I’ll go back to other search apps for campgrounds or such. Pulled the plug on this one.
Pointless app
So tried it because free subscription for thanks to toyota trucks. Entirely useless, its gonna tell me free sites along the way? Literally any good maps or apples maps could do that. It would be great if it built a route with things to see on the way like oddities or fun things to do. No it just gives you free camping spots…. Ill just apple map it snd not get sucked into a trial subscription scam.
Too much unrelated content
I was really enjoying this app but I rely a lot on photos of campsites to see if our set up will work. There are too many ppl posting unrelated photos (selfies, pics of their animals,plants and flowers, their breakfast). It can have potential for a good app but don’t advertise that you will get $ or a reward for posting the most pics or videos. Too much unrelated posts and it’s a waste of time while trying to find the next campsite.
They’ll sell your info!!!!
I did a survey with “The Dyrt” and now my phone and email are blowing up. Don’t share you info with them! Can’t trust The Dyrt. I even paid for the subscription!

I assume people who use apps like this one are looking for deals. And what is the best deal you can get? It’s paying $0. Why would you put BLM campsites behind a paywall. For those who don’t know, A BLM campsite is a camping spot on public land managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM). It may also be referred to as disperse camping. Nonetheless, it is free absolutely free so why put it behind a paywall?

I gave in and got membership on promise that it would reveal primitive camping asking a trail will the map revealed nothing except what was already on it there are clearly 5 sites along this trail I just google them and they pop up for free don’t waste your money
This App Sold Out
This app used to be free and was great for finding small and backcountry campgrounds. Now you have to pay $60 a year to see any free camping at all. The only camping it shows you with the free version is paid National Park and Private campgrounds. I can find that with a simple google search. This app is now pointless and I will be deleting it. Disappointing having used this app since 2018/2019.

Got scammed
I bought the year subscription, but after a few weeks the app ‘forgot’ and set me back to basic mode. I emailed customer service & they said they could t find any record of my account - I sent them my Apple receipt and then they completely stopped replying to me.
I’ve checked in several times, no reply.
A friend told me they had a similar situation & that they thought there was some fishy/scammy type stuff happening with this company.
Bummed. $60 is a huge price for an app, esp with the risk of them simply loosing your info :/

Once great
Can’t even search for anything without paying for their “pro” subscription plan now. This once great app is no longer valid as a friend to campers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Not worth it.
I wonder how this app has so many positive reviews… it’s not very user friendly and their support team is unhelpful. Wouldn’t recommend downloading this to anyone.
Horrendously terrible app and renewal process
The renewal process is automatic with no annual reminder of the upcoming bill- and the worst part is Dyrrt offers very little helpful information on the App for camping, wasn’t even worth the first subscription price paid. Now a second fee- arrrgh.

They do not provide anyway to turn off subscription on App Store. They charged credit card and when told immediately to refund they denied. Stay away from this app as they have nefarious billing practices.
What happened
The subscription charges are predatory, and free app has so many ads that every time I try to read reviews, the app force closes itself from being overloaded. If I can’t read reviews to even see if this app is worth it, why would I subscribe at such extreme rates? I’ll use something free that works, thank you.

They will auto renewal, and if you do not contact them within 48 hours you cannot get a refund.
Very predatory, if I am not using the app, and want to cancel the subscription, I shouldn’t have to pay for an entire year.

Can’t log into profile
I paid for a pro account but after updating a couple times it still won’t let me log back into my profile to access it
Won’t re-organize stops!
For some reason, it keeps reverting everything after I try to re-organize my stops. I cannot get anything in order! What is wrong? You guys need to fix this!

I used the free trial to see what this app was about. Unfortunately I missed the cutoff to cancel and got charged $60. This app is not worth even close to $60 per year. Incredible scam in my opinion. I ended up finding camping spot that were t even on there.

Should be great but No!
It seemed like a good idea. All the camping info in one app including free spots. The 7 day free trial made it easy to try. But NO. First, I was billed two days into the “free trial “ and guess what , they don’t do refunds! I have to go through Apple and there is no way to describe the issue, just a pull down menu and APPLE decides if you deserve a refund. Then there’s the app. The map feature is busy and not self explanatory, you have to learn what the symbols mean. I couldn’t tell if I was getting all the spots I had filtered for or just free camping and even then, it mis listed a day use Oregon State Park as a camping spot. We drove 20 miles out of our way for that. If you want to try it, don’t use Apple Pay, use a credit card so you can dispute if it doesn’t work out for you.
Fraudulent charges
If I could give these guys a big fat zero I would! I haven’t used this app in over two years. It was not still on my phone and I got a message from my bank regarding a charge from this app and it looked funny to them so they alerted me about it. I did not authorize anything to be put on my card. I even checked on my Apple store subscriptions and I am not subscribed to them at all! They tried to charge my card for $35.99 which was not authorized at all ever like I said I have not authorized anything. I no longer have the app on my phone and I haven’t used the app in over two years! So beware.

pay just $4.99/month, is a lie, as they are billing you 59.99 annually.
I tried every way possible to sign up for the 4.99 per month, But it is just no way to do that. They only have the annual option of $59.99 per year.
The only reason an app would not have a monthly option but only a yearly option is a big red flag, as most probably I will have to go through hoops and loops to get any refund for unused time if I cancel early.

Not accurate
When I checked about overnight in Walmart & Costco, Dyrt said both in Olympia, WA were ok-both had signs that it was NOT ok.
Paid for a year and got 7 months of Pro
It was a great app except we paid for a year subscription and after 7 months, we no longer had access to Pro. No help from the company at all after many reach outs. Do not recommend.
