Incredibly unstable
Don’t know how this app has so many stars when it crashes on me constantly, logs me out, and almost every other day tells me ordering is unavailable - forcing me to have close the app and reopen.
Requires Phone Number
This app requires a phone number to set up and when you sign up it uses your phone number as a source of data collection. No way around it. Cannot use email or an other source. Two thumbs way down
Payment issue that cannot be fixed no matter what
No matter what I do I can’t seem to fix the payment issue. Keeps saying invalid card. Signed out and in/ deleted/reinstalled still doesn’t work
Canceled Reservations without Confirmation
I normally don’t give one star ratings but in this case, apps either work well, work ok, or fail with a negative impact. I made a special in-person visit at a very popular hard-to-get-in restaurant just to make a reservation for me and my wife’s 30th wedding anniversary. Later on, a couple hours before our diner, there was a slight unexpected chance I might need to cancel and wanted to know if there were any fees in doing so. When I hit the cancellation button on the app expecting more information or at least a warning before actually canceling, the app canceled it. No information no warning. Gone. Couldn’t get the reservations back. Anniversary dinner totally ruined. Who would design an app that doesn’t give “are you sure you want to cancel” confirmation? Next time - will skip restaurants using Toast and stick to restaurants who use their own system or always reliable Open Table.

This app will let you order from restaurants that are closed. Have you wait on the order 30+ minutes past the estimated time, then call the order complete on the app without delivering anything. After charging your card for the order that was never going to show up. Just don’t do it. Just use a reputable app. This app is 100% a scam. There is no option at all to dispute or get a refund for the service they did not provide. Basically I just got robbed.

Toast does NOT ensure the restaurant is actually open before you place and pay for an online order. You will pay for your order and 10 minutes later receive a warning via email that the restaurant has not confirmed your order.
You would think this would automatically initiate a flag on your account to where if you request a refund due a restaurant being closed that it would automatically process. WRONG! You will wait DAYS for a response. Then Toast will have the audacity to blame the mom & pop local restaurant rather than take the blame for their horribly understaffed customer service department.

ERROR after ERROR
Half the time points if I used points at check out it wouldn’t let me actually check out to completion, unless I removed my points credit. SCAMMERS

Absolute trash
Overpriced with barely any insight into the delivery and no customer support. My driver was late, he left the food on the street, the food was cold and spilled everywhere and customer service was nonexistent. No option to change my tip and they want me to call the restaurant to change the tip?! And there’s no option for me to rate the driver or restaurant so this can just keep happening. Absolute trash!
SCAM APP - No Customer Support
Picked up my order from the restaurant and it as missing a bunch of things. Tried calling the restaurant to try and resolve the matter. They never answered their phone. I couldn’t get back the same day to see them in person about the issue. Then tried using the customer support on Toast - non existent! No help! No refund for the missing food items. Will not be using this app ever again.
Such a PITA to use
I only ever order one of three items from one store. I can never get the app to let me reorder the same thing. I can see my previous orders but tapping on them brings me back to… the screen I’m already on. When I try to order the same thing from scratch, I often cannot get the store’s menu to open. Awful.
My Bar & Points ($35) Vanished
While sitting in my bar, The Dugout on Hildebrand Blvd, Kennewick, WA vanished along with $3X.xx reward points I’ve been building up for 6mo’s vanished. Waitresses also stated several other customers stated their reward points vanished.
1 Star is all I can recommend, for I have to lodge a complaint with the establishment to hopefully recoup my Reward Points.

Doesn’t work anymore
I used to love Toast but it no longer works reliably. Restaurant receives order but a delivery person is never assigned. I’m charged but food never arrives.
Placed Order, Restaurant was Closed, Did not Help Me Resolve
Reached out to support team when order I was able to place was unable to be received although charge went through. Support team took over a week and a half to tell me they needed to verify despite me sending photos that proved it, and to contact my bank instead despite me previously reporting it.

Charged for order, restaurant never received it
Pretty bad first experience. I used Apple Pay, was charged, but the restaurant didn’t receive the order. Had to show where it was charged, then has to wait for them to make it.I doubt I’ll use this app again

My order was never delivered. No one responded to the “help ticket” I entered through the app. No refund was provided. Don’t use this app!!
Used to be good ... then they required iOS 17
Some people don’t have the ability to rush out and buy the latest and greatest iPhones, so I guess you just don’t want to get your cut of our purchases. Oh well ...
Update ruined app
None of my pages load since the my rebranded. I've got hundreds of dollars in gift cards just stuck in there because I can't order on there or access my wallet anymore. Infuriating
Single worst experience getting delivery
I would’ve saved an hour and some frustration setting $60 on fire
Ordered through the app, never received the order and now support won’t even reply to us!
We paid almost $50 and the delivery driver went the wrong way, marked the order delivered even after we reached out and told her the correct address (as written in the app) and so we reached out to customer support and got put on hold and no one will reach out to us regarding the money we just lost and the food that was stolen.
Bad app
Impossible to find my way to the order screen after an Apple iOS update. I got stuck on “recommended” places “close to me” - when I live on an ISLAND and have to take a ferry to reach them. Then when I did finally get to the order screen? The app had already loaded my orders from weeks ago, and I didn’t catch it - I ended up ordering two of everything. I HATE THIS APP

Can no longer use app because I have an older, perfectly working IPhone. Will not update to 17.0. Not buying a new phone just so I can use app. See ya!

New Toast App
I have an Apple IPhone 7. 16IOS. It is not broke so I refuse to upgrade. Now I cannot order Giovanni’s Pizza. Give us an option of apps old and new.

Every time you open the Toast app you have to dismiss a pathetic prompt to review your last order. All for some myopic dolt at the company to force a new & self-sabotaging metric that destroys the brand.

I want:

Trying to make a reservation and I am trapped in a horrible hell-loop where the app continues to ask me to edit my profile to book a table. My info is correct. If I edit, I have to go back to the start. If I cancel and don’t choose to edit, the process stalls out (click the button to confirm and nothing happens). I’ve deleted and reinstalled. Tried on the web and not the app. Tried as a guest and with my account. Nothing works. I can’t imagine a worse experience. If this is designed for torture, well done. Would give zero stars if it would let me.

Annoying Survey Pop-Ups
First, this is yet another app for which the Apple App Store is manipulating results. More than 60% of reviews, when sorted by newest reviews first, are one star. Yet, the App Store shows a 4.7 rating for the Toast app?
My ‘beef’ with this Toast app is that I get pop-up survey requests from the app whenever I dine at a restaurant that uses Toast’s technology. This occurs even when I have not used the app, but have simply dined at a restaurant.
While that’s annoying, what is unacceptable is that Toast does not offer the ability to turn off the survey pop-up requests from within the app.
Users can turn off all similar alerts at the iPhone level, but that means turning off 100% of similar pop-up alerts from all of the other apps on my iPhone.

I complained about a delivery driver who kept my food for an hour before delivering it cold. Toast Support called and yelled at the restaurant. I explained to Toast Support that I had no complaint with the restaurant, and to leave them alone as they had done nothing wrong. Again they said they were harassing the restaurant to get me a refund I never asked for. I hope it was AI because if it was a person, that’s really not good. Teach your staff to read. Or, hire staff back, if you fired them all and only use broken AI.
You'll never get support if something goes wrong
I ordered from here for the first time the other day and the order was not done correctly. It was food missing and normally when I’ve used others like Uber Eats DoorDash, etc. you’re able to contact customer service and they’ll address it.
However, with toast, forget it you’ll never hear from them. They will never respond to all you will get is them saying thank you for your patience and that we’re working on it.
So toast might be OK if everything goes perfect but if anything happens to your order, you’re gonna be out extra money because forget any sort of a partial refund for it.
Going forward I’m only gonna stick with Uber Eats DoorDash and GrubHub who I’ve never ever had any issues trying to get a response when in order doesn’t go well.

Really? You have an app for local restaurants and you CAN’T LIST THE RESTAURANTS’ HOURS OF OPERATION? Isn’t that, like, IMPORTANT?!

There is no immediate assistance on orders! It took delivery on this app two hours to deliver pizza from a place that was six minutes away. There is no immediate way to cancel, change an order, or get support from a live rep. Tried to call the restaurant who said that there was no order on the toast app showing that they could cancel the order. What a waste of time and money!!!!

The driver dropped off the wrong order and I had to submit a ticket to an AI that hasn’t been resolved. Couldn’t talk to a human either.

I signed up on the app on a Monday and the very next day I started receiving a TON of spam text to my cell phone. I haven’t signed up for anything else here recently. Literally a dozen plus spam text a day!
Great app BUT sketchy checkout. Tips left for restaurant missing on final receipt
I like this app a lot bc it allows me to put in notes for the restaurants. However, today when I left some tips for the restaurant at checkout, it showed in the subtotal but after I hit pay, the tip was gone from the final receipt. I went to pick up and asked the restaurant if they received the tip but their receipt didn’t show it either. So, I have no idea where that money went but it certainly didn’t go to the restaurant. Sketchy af!

Terrible Company
Ordered from them and the driver delivered to the wrong address, trying to get ahold of customer service with toast is a JOKE. They don’t have live communication in the app like it implies, and then when calling customer service phone number the worker was very unhelpful and refused to let me speak to someone higher up to help me resolve my issue. Will never order through toast again, stick with better apps like DoorDash!

Toast now sends multiple review requests a day
Toast was an stress-free app until they started pushing pop-up review requests after every order to review the restaurant you ordered from. It’s very annoying when you open the Toast app and go to place your order but are interrupted by a slow pop up asking to review your prior order. And then they send you multiple notifications after you leave app asking for reviews as well. Even if I leave a review for a restaurant, Toast will keep asking for a review each time I order from them. I use Toast to place orders every day, so I find this new way to solicit reviews by harassing users completely counterproductive because I’m now looking for alternative ways to place orders rather than use Toast.
