Fake ad, scammers, not worth the download
Literally got this because the adds look interesting, but it’s nothing like the ad. This is a game that’s literally boring af. I’ve wasted too much time in my life. You can’t build your power higher than others unless you spend real life money. You’ll get scammers messaging you everyday to join their discords so that they can steal your money. Not worth it. Collecting cards of only guy characters… Boo~ Interesting storyline… Meh~

This has been my favorite game for months but after today I (along with many others) won’t be spending a dime on it. There was a glitch due to daylight savings time that resulted in paying customers wasting unrecoverable resources and everyone who reached out received the same copy and paste response. They are not even attempting to correct the issue or offer any compensation for the loss.
I suggest that if you do download you never make an in app purchase. They don’t value their customers at all.

Haven’t a clue what it’s about
After clicking through endless pages of a silly and convoluted ghost story with no game in sight, I deleted it.

I finished chapter 2 and can’t keep reading it anymore, it is basically a girl always stammering and fears everyone everything and with many weird boys in a school, some are just rude like they never have learned how to talk to human, what the hell is wrong with the characters and plots????
misleading, obvious ai usage
it’s just odd that companies like you bait people to download your game whenever there’s way better ways to market your game to the people who would actually like this game (cough cough teenage girls)… by showing the characters or actual story plot line you could’ve gain way more people playing your game. i hadn’t even thought there were weird attractive boys because the ads were so misleading. and don’t get me started about the obvious ai usage. i can tell whenever there’s ai slop… the backgrounds look like they were generated, many pictures are generated, and even some pics of the characters sprites were made with ai. (ex. the shading on the characters bangs don’t match their actual bangs, too little or too much hands, etc…) this is so obviously a cash grab with the low effort fighting system, dumb “bonus levels” and laziness involved. if you’re someone who wants to play a good otome game, just go play love and deepspace, mystic messenger, or go onto itch.io and play games that took actual effort, attention, and care.

A point isn’t even what it says the picture say something different even the ads and then this isn’t even what it remotely said all this games is about fighting creatures and talking to “handsome ghouls” if you want a game that it says it is on the ads, isn’t it?

from the ads that I was shown, the game is not how it looked. It was completely different and I downloaded it because it looked like a fun game from the ad, but whenever I got it was completely different.

I absolutely hate it. It’s not even about discovering if something is off it’s about stories. I spent five hours trying to search how to check how to do the mysteries to see who killed and who did it and all I could find is the stories. I absolutely hate it.

Ads specifically show a mystery “find the object” type game but there seems to be no such aspect in the actual game.

Poor Customer Service/Cash Grab
The customer service for this game is very poor, I've repeatedly had to reach out about bugs only to wait for days just to be told that it's supposedly my own fault and there was never any bug to begin with. I let it go a couple times, but it just keeps happening, usually in relation to when I've spent a lot "diamonds" (the game's real/rare money currency) to get a reward and the reward didn't actually trigger so it gets really frustrating as the game is extremely stingy with rewards to begin with, it takes forever (and never missing a day or event) just to build up a semi competitive team. The game is a cash grab though so you'll never truly hit top of server unless you spend more money. There is some strategy stuff that you can kind of balance and stay in the top 20ish players on a moderate budget, but even then you still have to dump some money in and you have to be careful and maximize all rewards. Which is why it's extra frustrating when the app bugs out and customers service won't even try to fix it despite having spent a decent chunk of money on it over the last year. Missing even one event means you'll fall behind as the other players in the server grow or sacrificing more diamonds means that you won't have enough to roll on the very rare drops you need so, since I don't want to spend more money on a product that won't get fixed when something goes wrong, it's pretty much forced a zero sum cost situation where I'll be deleting it because there's no point in playing when I've already fallen too far behind to catch up. Also the story was interesting for awhile but it's clearly going nowhere meaningful anymore, they're just dragging it out to make more money rather than sticking to any actual rational pacing.

There is no male protagonist character, this makes me very sad. I want to play as a man in the story

Honestly might have played this game if it weren’t for all the terrible ads showing disturbing AI generated death scenes without any warning or weird scenes where they literally choose a man to impregnate a women to raise a baby as a k-pop star but then he dies through malnourishment. But that’s suppose to be funny? Disgusting. Would rate negative stars if possible.

You guys are blatantly copying Twisted Wonderland, from the costumes and clothing design. I expected and thought it was just taking inspiration, but no, you didn't even bother to change the ceremonial robes from Twisted Wonderland. You released the game four years after the original, and all you can offer is superficiality. I don't care if you're a small or large game company, but I hope you'll improve in the future.

First of all, every single ad I’ve ever seen for this app has advertised completely different game styles and I downloaded it because it was unclear what kind of game it was going to actually be. Second of all, I downloaded it and it has you pick a character in the beginning and then it starts the story. And I picked a character but then I had changed my mind. So I deleted the app, hoping that it would reset whe I downloaded it again. It did not do that. So now I’m stuck with a character I don’t want. And I really don’t like that “solving cases” is just little mini battles. I was hoping at least that part would be like what was advertised in some of the ads. To have the name of your game be Tokyo Debunker and not letting your players actually do any debunking is really misleading. If you guys want a game like this you should go play Twisted Wonderland instead as it actually is what it advertised. And this game won’t even really let me leave a review I’ve been pressing the upload button repeatedly for forever and it won’t upload my review.

Don’t fall for the false advertising
Tokyo Debunkers has been advertised as a horror game and a dating simulator. Whatever you do, do not drop ANY MONEY on this game because it’s all just a p2w with pointless gacha rolls. You can’t even use the cards you roll for in the actual story! The real gameplay is like cats and soup where you upgrade structures for card benefits which, by the way, is pretty much useless since you can only use cards in the arena, a mode where you fight other players’ teams to climb the ranks. It’s repetitive, boring, and nothing worth coming back to. I am a hypocrite though because I do my dailies before I go to sleep. The story itself is pretty good, however. There’s a comment section if that intrigues you 👀
