I bought a single piece of sheet music from them for $5.99 through my Apple Account so I could print it out, but can’t find it anywhere. The app won’t let me print the piece out unless I buy their $120 dollar a year subscription. They essentially stole $6 dollars from me.

Don’t get this
All it does is shove repetitive songs into your face and the music speeds up and slows down randomly, and as a French horn player I DON’T KNOW IF THEY ARE GIVING ME DOUBLE HORN OR SINGLE HORN MUSIC.

Terrible customer service
This company is not honest, watch out! They charged me the full amount on the last day of my free trial and sent the receipt stating it was charged on the day after, funny how the money came out of my account one day and the receipt states the charge was made on another. So when I asked for my money back they charged me for a MONTH and would not refund the entire amount because I “already started the next month” Terrible customer service. Cancel that free trial before the last day they tell you!!
Difficult to navigate.
Required way too much info just to purchase one piece of music. Never could get the copy of the music.

I was dishonestly charged for a year subscription, when I requested to unsubscribe from Tomplay music app. There is no way to unsubscribe without customer support and they did not unsubscribe per my request.
OK but not great
Everything pretty much works but that's about it. The software is not polished. Search function has two different entry locations which makes it confusing. Search could be better and more comprehensive. The whole app could use an overhaul. A great app is super easy and handles all of the edge cases.
Makes playing more fun
Doesn't work on iPhone 16
To have the accompanist to play with makes this app so much fun. However I would love to see some more tools to change tempos for whole sections. I find that sometimes parts of a piece are way off the tempo I would play and have to stop and change it manually.
Also, it would be great to set a default tuning for all pieces. Most flutes are tuned to 442 but the recordings seem to be at 440 and I have to change every piece.
I’d also like to have the option to always have the flute recording off.
Finally, the web browser version doesn’t remember the app settings even when logged in the same account, so it’d be nice to store those settings in the cloud.
Suggestions aside, this app is a game changer and is motivating to use.

Renewal without notice
Good app, but watch out for renewal… they will renew without sending a reminder notice and will send discount coupon a week after you’ve renewed. Highly disappointed!

I love this app but…
Fantastic app and a great way to learn an instrument. Unfortunately the latest update is less intuitive - features like fingering charts and annotations are harder to access, and there are occasional bugs. For example, landscape mode sometimes fails to activate even though screen rotation works normally in other apps. Please bring back the experience I loved

Jittery playback over Bluetooth
Sadly this app can no longer achieve smooth playback over Bluetooth ever since the version before 5.1.13.
It’s poor taste to break an app’s functionality with a new release when you’re on a subscription plan.
I had hoped that this release would fix the issue. It has not, and so I continue with a subscription, hoping the app will become useable for me once again.

Buggy app and poor service
Since last year when I logged into the Tomplay app it says I was not an active subscriber.
I had always used my Apple ID to log. Being too busy I assumed that this was because I had failed to renew my subscription and forgot about the issue. It turned out that I had renewed and the app had created a hidden secondary email and so did not recognize my log in.
I do not think this was my issue because I had always been able to log into the app using my Apple ID. My request for a partial refund was denied because they “have no control over Apple subscriptions as we do have for subscriptions via credit card on our website.”
I have been their customer and have recommended their service to many friends for a few years. Unfortunately I will not return.

Doesn’t offer to switch to bass clef!!
This app would be good if it offered to switch or only search in bass clef! Until this is fixed I can’t find music!
They will NOT refund if you cancel your subscription on date of renewal.
I was not notified ahead of time that I was due for renewal. I requested cancellation and refund in same day it renewed and they refused. Disputing through my bank. Make sure you pay attention to the renewal date. I only used it once to get a song last year.
It is amusing, but disappointing.
One of the worst user experiences in an app that I have seen. Some of the tracks sound so corny and poorly played that it would be an embarrassment for someone to hear it.
If you play an instrument and would also like to sing, its not really set up to accommodate that on all songs. There is a spot to sing the melody, but then the instrumental solo is prerecorded, so you can’t do that yourself.
Song library is limited, and questionable.
On a positive note, some songs sound good, and you can print the lead sheets.
I wish each instrument was able to be muted as needed, and that there was a way to open songs for more improvised solos.
Edit - post iOS 18 install the app crashes constantly.
