Here’s the thing, your window time of 30 minutes is ridiculous! And of course, I gave away my hard earned money to you! So to those who want to use this app if you don’t arrived on the exact window time, your order and money is gone for good! The restaurant is not to be blamed, it’s the app that will not allow them to hold it up for you. I thought I would be able to save but instead took you just my money.
Don’t use
The store gave me frozen food passed the date it should have been used and when I complained the app said it’s best by and not expired by. The food lost its texture and the taste and was not eatable.
Map and distance gone
Latest update got rid of the map and distance when I’m choosing a town. Now it only shows me like 3 things. Fix it Jesus
notifications do not work
i get notified something is available. i happen to already be on my phone and i click it within 5 seconds, and its “sold out” lol. why show anything if theres nothing to give? this keeps happening and im about to give up on this app

Capitalism during depression
What used to be donated because it’s stale or going to waste is now sold for profit. I guess it’s better than them throwing away perfectly good food because everyone has such harsh feelings towards the poor and needs to milk every last dollar. People applauding this are wild to me. I guess because I used to be a baker and we used to donate all the bread at the end of the day. I have seen those who need..I just have a different view of life. Now that 30% or more of the country is starving or underfed this is something to applaud. Food that’s now old being priced at what fresh food was just a short while ago.
Too many cheaters and lurkers
Do not bother with notifications, I’ve literally seen places I have notifications appear in the map and by the time the notification went out it was sold out

They steal your money after they don’t remind you to pick up an item
I didn’t pick up an item because the app didn’t remind me to, they refused to refund me for their failure. I did a chargeback on my credit card and they banned my account. Years of using the service and they banned my account over $6.
TooGoodToGo will stand for restaurants, not customers
I went to pick up food at California Fish Grill of Brea, CA on Sunday, 4/19/2026 at 3:33 PM. Yes, I was 3 min late to the pickup window. The restaurant did not let me pick up the food. Contacted TooGoodToGo support and they could/did not do anything. What is so difficult to let me pick up the food 3 min later or store credit, so I can pick it up another time?
Great except for bots
Used to be great, but the app has a BIG bot problem: Paid external services to auto reserve the Actual SECOND a deal goes live. Screws even the most vigilant user. TGTG needs to ban bot using accounts, and there’s no way to report bots.
Refunds
READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS! If you miss your order pick up time (they only give you one hour) because life happens. You apparently aren’t allowed to get a refund, though no services were rendered. So be careful, I personally think though there mission statement is good but they handle this issue with no empathy. Personally I will not be using this app again and hope they in the future can rethink there refund policy.
Emergency situation
My car had a flat unfortunately, because of course I have the worst luck always. That’s on me. I contacted the store and the app to let them know I could not pick up my order, and I could not find a friend willing to drive and take the order. Even though I spent hundreds and been on the app for years they would not account for an emergency and refund my money , even with me letting them know. It’s unfortunate, and I understand not letting things go to waste but sometimes there are things that happen that are beyond our control. Not everything goes perfectly all the time, unless you work for this app of course. They don’t make mistakes and emergencies don’t happen to them.
Wrong closing times.
Really disappointed. We went to go pick up our order and the app had the wrong closing time so all the driving for nothing. Not the only ones too while we were there 3 more people got there claiming the same thing app has wrong closing time.
Deceiving
Usually the of grabbing food that the restaurant or bakeries toss out is that it's free, not that you pay a fraction of the cost

I live in a major city and the only stores nearby that participate are gas stations what a waste! :(

I always get notifications and click in immediately, and I see the item was actually added to available options 30 minutes to an hour ago, and it’s already sold out. Why am I getting my notification AFTER everyone else has had it for a while? This is repeated every week, I keep trying to watch at the time they say, but it doesn’t pop up then. Then I get the notification and it’s too late! It can’t be just me.
