Great app but…..
The app is really wonderful but what lost the other 4 stars is me constantly being signed out. It got old a long time ago. Signed me out this morning for “security” reasons. Won’t let me use Face ID and wants me to sign in by other means. Well the login is set up under my wife’s login and it’s great I have the password but the way we log in has two factor authentication she’s at work and I can’t get the code. All because the stupid app has to constantly sign me out.
Not worth it
The app continuously needs to be logged into, so you can’t count on being able to just start your car or unlock a door. It often requires several minutes to reconnect and communicate with your vehicle. It notifies you to allow communication with the vehicle every single time you stop it and restart. For a busy mom who runs a dozen places each day, it isn’t worth it. I tried turning off the locked vehicle alert since I park in my own garage, but that isn’t an option, so I still had to lock my car even in my own locked garage. I was very disappointed that the app is the only way to use remote start. Even on the platinum trim in the 2025 grand Highlander. The app is not worth the hassle.
Can only register one drive
My wife and I share the new car but she creates the account with her Apple ID on her iPhone so she can not log in on my iPhone because that button only lets me use my Apple ID. I attempt to log in using her phone number and it asks me to reset her password.
Have to pay
Either car has remote start or doesn’t. Why would I pay monthly for it. Be so for real !!!
Too wonky
This is not a good app. Several features have stopped working and others have conflicted with basic Bluetooth functions. So far I am unimpressed

I would like remote connect, billed yearly at $80/yr.
I have no interest in remote connect + “gps service not as good as Waze” for $180/yr only billed in $15/month increments. I like high friction points as it means, hey do I really use this service for $300 and sometime that is a yes, if it is this monthly drip, then I don’t get that moment of reflection that drives a good service, just a strong hope you will forget to cancel a garbage service.

Useless

If this was my only device though I’d be screwed
Horrible Experience
This app is the worst performing app I have ever used, and I’ve had an Iphone since the first generation. 6 months I’ve tried to use this app, keep thinking an update will come that will resolve the constant crashing, slow response, etc.. It is unusable 90% of the time. Latest iphone and latest iOS. I’ve reinstalled and problems persist

Toyota screwed up
The Toyota apps are a joke, and the subscription based options for items that are built into the vehicle you own is hands down the dumbest thing I’ve ever experienced. In addition to the fact that Toyota no longer stands for quality, reliability, and longevity. With their pathetic turbo engines that have a nasty reputation for grenading, often before the first scheduled oil change. Toyota had better do a complete 180, and get back to the real world like yesterday.
Service history does not work.
Service history was spotty at best. Now it doesn’t work at all. I worked with customer care for almost an hour with negative results. The application developers need to come up with a new and improved product.

The Toyota app is useful for basic remote start features, but it has some frustrating limitations. There’s no option to control the climate settings remotely while the car is started and you’re not inside, which is especially disappointing when it comes to adjusting the air conditioning remotely, which is a standard feature for other Toyotas with the same subscription. Another annoyance is that the car shuts off as soon as you open the door after remote starting it. On top of that, the app can be slow to log in and access features, even when using Apple ID sign-in. Overall, it has potential but needs improvements in convenience and remote climate functionality. Other vehicles have these remote features why doesn’t the tundra.

No Climate Control after having it
How are you going to charge for an app that fails consistently and does not have all the advertised features? I paid for this so that I could remote turn on my car to circulate the air as well as remote start charging since the scheduling feature is woefully underskilled. I was able to adjust the temp initially but now I am locked into full heat when I remote start. Fix your app! You’re charging us enough to use it.
It’s fine when it works
I have to log in way too often and it sometimes just doesn’t work. Compared to the Tesla app, this is horrible. I would have no problem paying for this service if it worked regularly. Too often I started my RAV4 through the app on cold mornings only to find out when I went outside it didn’t start, with no notification. If it’s fixed, I’d pay.
Removed climate control for Toyota rav4
They silently removed the climate control for Toyota Rav4. The remote start is of no use in weather active places where it could be pleasant in one hour and hot/cold in next.
I’m also a developer but I’ll never go to the extent of removing a great feature. If it costs you more money then charge more money.

it’s 2026 and they are charging big bucks for 1995 grade software
- cannot control climate from the app for a lot of models (sienna, 2025 or older rav4 and many more).
- remotely started car shuts off when you unlock, so i am out there in the snow, trying to get the snow brush out of my car and now i have to manually start it. ridiculous!
- on top of that, they got greedy and combined service packages (which no one cares for) so now you have to shell out $15 just to remote start your car using the same garbage app and service.
- features (no climate control, no window control, nothing at all except remote start) they are offering are worth $2 at best and i have to pay $15 for it. talk about corporate greed and stupidity!

Works sometimes
It says everything is locked, but that’s not the case. Found my car UNLOCKED, when the app said it was. You’re basically paying to be able to lock the car from far away? App is rarely accurate

Why won’t you take my MONEY
Limited service, glitches! It’s almost as if you don’t want me to shop through the app. You know the other site I had to create another account with. This is difficult to understand and disappointing to say the least!
It is okay
It is okay. The app is very glitchy - for instance when I try to use the lock command it duplicates the remote start button, thus moving the lock button further right and ‘interpreting’ my input as a prompt to remote start the vehicle instead of locking it. Also, I was using the digital key recently and the app forced an update. I worry that if I am out somewhere with limited cellular service and no wifi I may end up stranded if I am relying on my digital key.

5-Star Ratings are a JOKE
I’m glad I got a free trial so I know not to spend my money on this app. It is super slow and frequently incorrect. No matter how good my service is or how close to my car, refreshing the status/ trying to lock it is a hassle. Takes forever and is frequently incorrect. The worst thing about it is the ANNOYING POPUP on my phone every single time I start my car. And there’s no way to get rid of it unless I delete the app (which I will do when my trial is up)
Only works when it wants to
Works amazing when it wants to but “error” codes you almost half the time. No explanation for this. My car is locked and everything.
Primary/secondary
The fact that you can only have one primary driver that controls the app is ridiculous. The secondary driver (in this case the spouse) has to use the spouses app to access the remote control feature. Very inconvenient. I spent a lot of time on this today and with today’s technology, this app needs improvement. I can’t even get the vehicle to give me the 8 digit code to link my phone. Very frustrating. Shouldn’t be this difficult.
