Tractive is one of the WORST companies I’ve delt with in my whole life.
I came home from a 2 day camping trip and my cat was gone. It said he was in power saving mode in the “safe zone” I tried to reach out for support, surprise surprise they only have an AI chat bot no phone number.
I got none of the answers I needed, I opened a support ticket via their email that they respond to in “24 hours”. They told me to reconnect the device I needed to power it off, plug it in, and reconnect the Bluetooth. I can’t do that if my cat is missing!
I disabled the power saving mode and tried to use the Live tracking feature, that didn’t work and I still couldn’t find my cat. All it said was connection was weak, live was unavailable. I wish I could have called someone in time, but that’s not an option so I reopened another ticket. It’s been over 24 hours with no response, guess what I found my cats collar in the neighbors back yard. The collar just unclasped laying there. The collar THEY PROVIDED WITH THE TRACKER. This was NOT intended to be an easy break away collar.
I invested in this collar and the subscription incase my cat got lost and it was completely pointless!!
There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, the features DO NOT WORK, and when I log on the app they are PROMPTING ME TO SPEND MORE MONEY to their 2 year subscription. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH TRACTIVE!!!!!

Very Frustrated
I’m trying to buy your product but you’re making it impossible! I can’t even find a customer service phone number. What a terrible experience!
Double Yearly Subcriptions Only
When going through the membership options they are listed like “just $5 a month” but no matter what option you select you have to pay the yearly rate. it’s very misleading. for the lowest rate you have to pay for 5 years upfront. that’s not even it though. you HAVE TO get two subscriptions :/ one for the gps tracking and one for the health tracking. it would’ve been nice if there was an option to opt out of one because i was only interested in the gps tracking. or simply make the subscription include both features. i will be on the hunt for another pet tracking device once my current subscription is over.

Garbage product, garbage support
These trackers have been terrible. I have two for my two dogs; one has been fine, but the other frequently goes offline; if that happens when you’re not home, hope your dogs didn’t get out. I paid for “premium” support service; also garbage, every time I reported the offline issue the answer was “reset the tracker and see if it works.” Which it does, for a while, but goes offline again shortly. So finally, two of the tabs that hold the stupid rubber band retention device broke off (my dogs play rough and often grab each others collars) so they send me a replacement. This one doesn’t work at all. It connects to Bluetooth and GPS, so I can find my dog when I’m standing next t to them, great, but it won’t connect to the cellular network. I’ll be looking for other options, I suggest you do too.
Only option is prepay for 1 year+
I used to love Tractive and recommend it to others. I just purchased an additional tracker and the greedy company switched from a month to month subscription to only having option to prepay by the year! At a time when people are struggling, I’m curious as to why they would decide to change their pricing structure to exclude lower income families. I guess the only pets that matter are those belonging to wealthy families. Why is Tractive launching a war on the poor and their pets? Disgusting!

It literally never works
Day one and it already doesn’t work. It worked for like five minutes but as soon as my cat went out it stopped updating. The live view doesnt work. Radar doesn’t work. Sound never turns on. I walked all over my yard trying to find my cat and continuously tried to get live view to work just for it to keep saying there’s an error. Still haven’t found my cat. Negative stars for me because this is truly useless

Absolutely Awful
The tracker worked properly for like three days. My cat is an inside/outside cat and we want to know where she is so we know she’s safe because of past experiences. The live tracker is never accurate and it never works right. We can never see an accurate location of my cat because it never seems to find “stable internet” and now we don’t know if she’s safe.

Absolute worthless SCAM
Truly it is more useless than air tags for tracking your pet. Constantly cannot track because of “weak signal due to buildings/trees” goes “offline” without explanation. Shame on you greedy people

Don’t waste your money, their customer service is very bad, you cannot talk to a live agent, and when you lose the GPS, they will simply tell you to buy another one and the reviews it’s showing are mostly fake. This is not a US based company, we should Support made in USA
Waste of money for cats
Fails in every way possible, while simultaneously extracting as much of your money as they possibly can.
Tracker fell off in my yard 2 days ago, and locator function refused to function. Not by Bluetooth, and not my GPS either. Sound and light function also refuses to work. And even though I purchased Care coverage, it won’t cover shipping costs or even the collar and mounting holder.
As I already paid for the tracker itself, the one year $150 subscription as well as Care coverage, I refuse to continue to throw good money after bad. Will never buy anything from this company again.

If I could give this 0 stars I would
This product is not great. The battery life is way too short and often times the GPS will not connect with the collar, therefore leaving my cats, whereabouts unknown. The plastic cradle for the battery is cheap and bricks often basically costing me about 14 additional dollars per month to replace the cradle. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of other options out there so this is what I am with. I’ve had to buy a second collar and so that I can continuously charge and have my cat covered. The product before that you took over and bought out was a superior product. You should take a few lessons from what they created.
Doesn’t work
On several occasions I watched my cat go to the neighbors house on the right and the trackers says he’s on the left. I also watched him walk outside the virtual fence and tracker again said he was next door. Half the time you can’t get the live or radar. You have to pay for at least a year upfront. I want a refund.
Very inadequate piece of equipment
I bought this thing months ago and tried to contact you for help and could get none. I still need help, but I know that you won’t give any.
Bring back prior functionality!
After last update we can no longer activate Live while in safe zone. This completely removed what I loved about this app. Also, no longer updates for me after 9pm/in the morning unless my dog is near me, keeps saying she is in the safe zone when she isn’t. Need to be able to make a smaller safe zone as well.
Endless spinning blank screen
The app does not work at all for me. It cannot find the device. I can’t even get past that endless spinning to try to add another device, or remove device or cancel account or anything. The system is just expensive garbage now
Not accurate
Ive been looking for my cat for half an hour and hes wearing the Tractive. I can’t even figure out what general area he’s in because it keeps jumping around. At one point it said he was sprinting around a parking lot. I had clear veiw of the parking lot and he was no where around. It would also say he was right with me but when I tried to use the radar effect it would say he was out of Bluetooth range. This thing is useless.
App doesn’t work
They updated the app and now the tracker doesn’t work. They told me it’s going to take at least a week to fix the app. They also don’t have customer service other than chat which is mainly AI.
Useless
No live view because in power saving zone. Ie we don’t want any cell phone expenses. But no Bluetooth no radar no light. But no live view when none of those don’t work. So what’s the point? None of the functions are available so you cannot track your pet even when you really want to know where they are.
What’s the point?
When I travel away from my pet it stops working. I am miles away so can’t reset at home. This device is not good. I miss whistle. I brought this as it was recommended by that company when they went out of business. I won’t be renewing
Used to be great, has now been made into a complicated mess
We used to be able to have a power saving zone and start the live tracker in it, as we have a small enclosed property but still want to keep track of our pets, but now you cant use the live tracker at all if your pets are anywhere near the power saving zone. Why change this?? There were no issues whatsoever with it before, and now it’s unusable. Shame on the developers for this un-nessecary change.
Annoying
App continually asks for permission updates. The request blocks the main user screen and does not relent if you don’t accept all requested permissions. Have to kill the app and restart just to use it according to *your* preferences. Permission options are fine but developer insists on annoying the user into submission to their desires not the user’s-as if they know my preferences better than myself. Annoying.
Great! When it works…
This product does exactly what it says it does… however living in a city it’s unable to pick up where your animal is at all times. You may know for a portion of the day but there are still bugs with tracking unfortunately. All too often I’m left without signal to find my animal. To add to this, if my pet is outside my house I can’t live track it without disabling my battery saving zone so if my pet is lost in a rainstorm near my house I can’t help him come inside. This app is very shoddy
Good hardware, bad software
Overall, the tractive package gets you a good bang for your buck, the hardware is very cheap and fairly durable. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the software, they went with form over function, focusing on AI reports and leader boards rather than actual features. The two biggest examples is the lack of automatic Low Power Mode and the frankly abysmal experience when connected to Wi-Fi.
Low Power Mode should easily be automated, you even get notifications when the device gets low on power and yet you have to manually enable the option? A simple if then statement in the code will get the job done.

Their solution was to sell you yet another product, which is just a Wi-Fi extender that you can adjust the power setting on to limit the range of.

Cat collar mount broke
The app is wonderful, unfortunately the mounts for my cat collars broke so I’m unable to use the cat trackers at this time.
Application crashing
After the most recent application update the app crashes immediately after opening. Unacceptable for a paid gps app
