The “ask our ai bot anything” button is in a awkward spot? Right on top of the “book now” button and the price. It’s clunky and poorly designed.

Terrible Customer Service
I’ve spent so much money on this stupid platform because it’s the most foreigner friendly one for bookings in China. I recently had a terrible hotel experience, so I had to request a refund as I didn’t stay the night and booked a different one. I filed a chargeback with my bank, but was able to solve the issue with trip and received a refund. But because I filed a chargeback they blocked my account. I’ve had to make all my hotel booking, attraction bookings etc. using different platforms for wechat miniprograms directly with the merchants. I’ve provided so much proof that the chargeback was reversed: an official letter from my bank, and the chargeback credit reversal. Yet the refuse to lift this block. I will NEVER use this platform again. I can’t believe this is happening. I can’t even make another account because if a booking requires my passport number they automatically block my transaction after inputting that information. Horrible customer support. I’m livid, don’t they want to make money?

I do not recommend this app or Trip.com as a service to anyone. In my experience, the customer support is extremely weak, the app is buggy, and the tier system feels as if your status is effectively taken away every year and you are forced to earn it all over again. You earn it, then the service resets it again, and once more you are expected to pour money into this bottomless barrel just to maintain your level. For me, it is absolutely not worth it. The app itself works inconsistently. On the website, my bank cards link without any problem, but inside the app there is not even a proper separate setting or a permanent cards section. That section appears only when you are already trying to book something, for example a hotel. Even if a hotel says payment will be made at the property, the app still requires a card to guarantee the booking. But when you enter the card, it does not get linked. Because of this, I had to write to support almost every day for an entire week, repeating the same thing: cards link on the website, but not in the app. Moreover, even getting to the card entry field sometimes requires going through a whole chain of actions until that section appears at all. When you contact support, at first it seems they understand the problem: they promise to send it to the technical team, to finance, to whoever. But then another template reply arrives by email, and it looks as if the staff simply saw the word “card,” went through a pile of templates until they found one that also contained the word “card,” and then sent it off without even checking whether it actually fit the situation. It feels as though they just threw that reply in the customer’s face by email without realizing that the template itself had nothing to do with the real issue. The iPad version also works badly. It has interface distortions and is poorly adapted to the iPad screen: in some places the text becomes abnormally large, and in others buttons disappear. In portrait orientation it is still barely manageable, but in landscape orientation the app is frankly inconvenient to use. What is most irritating is that they have been unwilling to fix this landscape-mode problem in the iPad version for two years already. At the same time, the service claims it always listens to user feedback and cares about convenience. In my experience, that is not reflected in how the app and support actually work and looks like pure marketing. Instead of proper problem-solving, you get the feeling of endless canned replies and communication that relies far too heavily on automated responses. In the mobile versions from the App Store, there is no permanent card-linking section at all. At the same time, support sends screenshots showing that this section supposedly exists on their side. But when you show your version of the app, that section is not there. This creates the impression that it exists in some language versions, while in localized versions for other languages it simply does not. What irritates me most is the support. If you get stuck at a hotel in a foreign country and urgently need to solve an issue, they can keep passing you endlessly from one operator to another. As a result, you can spend hours, and sometimes even a day or two, sitting on your suitcases by the reception desk waiting for them to sort things out among themselves. It feels as though the staff work without common standards, communicate in different languages, and simply pass the customer around from one person to another without thinking about the situation the person is in. Refunds are no better: if a problem arises, you may wait nearly a week or two, and you still have to fight separately to prove that the problem was on their side, not yours. I also do not trust the glowing positive reviews for this app, because they do not match my experience at all. In my opinion, the negative reviews feel much more believable, especially since the service seems indifferent to them as well: they neither react properly nor fix problems for years. That is why I advise people to stay away from this service. There are plenty of competitors on the market that work noticeably better, especially when it comes to support. The main thing, namely real customer focus, is something I did not see here from Trip.com.

I don’t know if this will help anyone else, but just in case: I booked tickets for the wrong date- absolutely my fault. When we were made aware of this at the airport, the ticketing agent offered-very kindly-to help us get the right tickets. She said they were “transferring” our flights, but then charged us the full price of the original tickets. This was all done at the airport in Chinese and I assumed I misunderstood with my limited Chinese and that I would be able to cancel and refund part of the original tickets from Trip.com- I can not.

Trip.com has not reflected the transfer of our tickets in the app in anyway-it still has the original flights listed ready for us to take- yet they are “unable” to refund me any part of the original price for either set of ticket. I feel stuck as there are not many foreign friendly way to buy tickets in China.

Is trip.com legit?
Care to explain to me why my booking was cancelled without my consent and was refunded taxes only ? i started a free trial and called to cancel it because there was no where specific in the app to cancel your subscription. it was a pain in the butt to even get on the phone with customer service because there was no service to help with subscriptions specifically. after a long time, this man told me to disable this thing in my app and i asked to confirm that i will not be charged when my free trial ends and he said i would not be charged. a few days later i check my bank and the app charged me $59 for the annual subscription. i called to get a refund and for some reason they need so much proof and my case has been “under investigation” for over a week. and i have called for an update and they told me the same thing. i still don’t know how to cancel my subscription and i have NOT received my money back. do not trust them. i am only a freshman in college, $59 is A LOT to me, i am furious!
a terrible app
They do not recommend this application, we bought tickets to Bali from them, as a result, the flight there was canceled, rescheduled and they do not want to refund the funds. We have been sorting it out for about a month now, they politely drain us and refuse to send us mail for a pre-trial letter, I will contact Roskomnadzor after that to court because they owe us a lot of money.

I delete this app after I use it everytime. It constantly has an app icon notification for apparently no reason. Extremely annoying

No one use this app. Hotels hate trip.com and they pretend to save you money but they don’t and if you try to edit a reservation they will charge you anyway even when it their ‘systems’ fault.

Imagine you bought a ticket they said that it’s cancel fee free if its before 48 hours prior your flight and guess what? You try to cancel 2 weeks prior they ask you to pay more than any actual ticket prior the same date. And when u can hoping someone would help they are like robots. No refund on your trip when flights get canceled
Booked a flight that got canceled due to the Middle East situation, and they refused to reimburse me because my trip involved multiple airlines. Customer service was no help at all. Avoid this app and book directly with airlines instead.
Not a reliable company I was left without accommodation I paid for!
I booked a fully prepaid stay through Trip.com, received confirmation, and even had confirmation from the hotel. However, upon arrival after a 24-hour international trip with my child, the hotel informed me that no reservation existed and that they were fully booked.
This left me without accommodation upon arrival in a foreign country, which is unacceptable.
Trip.com support was not able to secure alternative accommodation and instead advised me to find a hotel on my own and request reimbursement later. This placed the burden entirely on me despite having a confirmed booking.
While a refund was initiated, this does not address the stress, inconvenience, and risk caused by this situation especially while traveling with a child.
I expect booking platforms to ensure that confirmed reservations are honored or that immediate equivalent accommodation is provided when issues arise. This experience significantly undermined my trust in Trip.com.

DO NOT USE
If you book a flight with a connection, they will not honor their commitment. The airline cancelled my first leg, and Trip.com will not refund my second leg, even though I obviously couldn’t get to the flight. Avoid at all costs!

I don’t like Taiwan being listed as part of China (PRC). Somehow other Chinese apps and services manage to be apolitical and not aggressively nationalistic and colonial, so I don’t get why Trip needs to get involved so deeply. That’s quite offensive
Trip Insurance is a joke
Things work decently on the app. When flights are cancelled don’t expect them to truly go to work to help you. They try to take no responsibility and make promises they repeat to break.
Poor customer service
We did a booking and by mistake we gave wrong email id and there is no way to get tickets and no way to contact them to correct it or cancel it even within 24 hours of booking. It’s just the chat bot and automated call Centre not trying to resolve the issue. Better go with professional apps with good customer service or proper automated chat bots

This is the worst thing I’ve ever used the. Flight didn’t depart until 9pm since 2pm that’s the time it was supposed to depart and they didn’t refund me I will never recommend people to use this type of app you people are all unhelpful and full of nonsense just taking people money for nothing
Can’t stop it from spaming
Always has promotions flag on message icon. Really distracting if you have a booking but can’t trust the message isn’t just another constant spam from trip.com. Haven’t found a way to prevent this so only pertinent message are presented. Ugh.

Don’t worry about a refund you won’t get it, they offered me $15 as a gesture of Goodwill. 😂 $800 wasted… and that gesture was offered by a supervisor that called me.

I bought round trip tickets to Thailand, to escort my brother who just had a stroke back to the US. While there he died, I asked trip.com to cancel the tickets. They sent me the procedure to follow,and I added everything they asked for and never heard anything back from them. Since I didn’t hear back from them I went online to cancel my tickets which I paid over $3000 for, and they only offered me $122.00 refund. To rebook the tickets one way was more than the round trip tickets I paid for. I would not recommend trip.com to anyone. Go somewhere else.
BAIT AND SWITCH
I rented a room in gatlinburg and paid thru Trip . Com. When I arrived I was charged more than the advertised price and it was called an Environmental Fee When I asked about it the hotel manager said Trip. Com should have told me about this and wouldn’t refund my money so I had to pay full price even though it was advertised on Trip.com at a lower price and I booked thru Trip.com. There’s a crook either with the website or the hotel but nobody will admit who it is

I’m about to delete this app. I don’t mind getting ads that are either somewhere I can see and either click or ignore. I DO mind having to sit through ads to get to my account even if it is just for 5 seconds. Don’t hold my account hostage and make me watch ads to get to my information.

Cancellation Impossible - Beware Non-Refundable Traps
Booked a trip thinking the price was great, but made a small error. Tried cancelling right after confirmation (under 5 mins) - system blocks it completely, labels it “non-refundable” with massive penalties or no refund option. No grace period, unlike many other sites. Chat support drags on with template answers, no real help. Lost most of my money over a tiny mistake. Lesson learned: Never book through Trip.com - always go direct to airline/hotel for better cancellation policies. This app prioritizes locking your cash over customer service. Extremely disappointed!
