As a completely respectful person, and they still banned me. And also, it’s a very white-people centric app, which is whatever. Anyone can report you just because they don’t vibe with you, and their review system is probably pretty bad given they outright ban you based on someone reporting you instead of actually checking if the report is valid or not. Been nothing but respectful and friendly with people, and I somehow “violated community guidelines”. Unless it’s about posting links (which I paid premium to be able to do LOL) - and it was just me posting Instagram chat links for quick connect on day of travel etc. whatever, a dying app anyways, it’s gotten progressively worse. Other apps are being more innovative now.

App Support sucks and well groups are different story
Despite taking multiple visible selfies and also reaching out to support (nobody responded) I could not get my profile verified. I had a mixed experience with groups, people just lurk on your profile instead of responding directly in group chat, I guess fear of interaction with strangers is to blame!? But in some groups you promoters more than real travelers trying to connect. TripBFF team needs to improve this. They’re charging premium fees just to show who viewed your profile, not really value add. I will be canceling my subscription.
This app is such a waste of money and time
No one really responds up on the app, and the men up there are pretty predatory and treated it as if it’s a dating app. Paid for pro and didn’t meet anyone up there. DO NOT recommend
A lot of creeps on this app
I went on a meetup and the people there roofied my drink. I don’t remember much from the rest of the night. I tried to report those guys but they reported me first and I got banned from the app. I don’t even know who the people who assaulted me were.
Bugs: Pictures not showing up
No pictures, or visuals loading at anymore, still not fixed after recent update.. frustrating app experience

User activity in Asia is very low, and it seems like almost nobody uses this app. It makes me doubt whether the users here are actually real.
the men are awful
as the title says: the men on this app are truly awful and predatory. during my trip to berlin, i joined a queer group in hopes of finding other queer people. im a lesbian but i was willing to hang out with anybody. i met up with this guy from the queer group and immediately noticed he was flirting with me. he was touching my very inappropriately (squeezing my stomach, touching my face+neck, and putting his hand near my private parts). he described in vivid detail a 3some he had with two bisexual girls during a lesbian night at a club. that's when it clicked me for: he wants a 3some with bisexual women again. when i explained that im a lesbian, he dismissed it immediately and said "you're too pretty. you're bi". like ok... im not... when i explained that to him he told me i just havent found the right guy. another instance was when this guy, who was ALSO from the queer group, dmed me asking to hang out. once again i assumed he was queer. when we breached the topic of me being a lesbian, he immediately assumed i was trans. i had to explain to him that i'm not. once again: this man said i was too pretty to be a lesbian. he told me i could kiss him like he was a woman. EW!!!!! when i tried to report both of these men, nothing happened bc technically these conversations were not on the app. if u are a woman, especially a lesbian woman, DELETE THE APP IMMEDIATELY. you will not find any travel friends: just creepy men who prey on women traveling alone.
None Responsive to members who take part in criminal activity
I’ve reported a member on this app who is unsafe and abusive and this app has refused to acknowledge my email about it as well as the evidence shown. I think that the developers may have racially discriminated me because I am not a white person and I sent a picture of me and the member who is in illegal activity and they did not do anything about it. At this point I believe this app is racist. I also received an email from someone named Alex who represented the bff trip app who was very dismissive and rude to me and I will be reporting this app to Apple directly. Here is a paragraph of what was said to me, quoted directly from the email. This is what the person named Alex from trip bff said to me, “Also, regarding your review accusing us of being racist, you can't just throw that word around because something doesn't go exactly how you want it...” Instead of banning the member who is clearly violating its use and is a white person. They attack the coloured person who reported the white member. Yet Alex wants to know why I claim this app is biased to white people. Hmmmm I wonder why.

I had a free trial and based on the apps policy they said they would let me know when my trial was up so I could either cancel or proceed and I was never informed and they took my money and I asked for a refund and was denied!! Terrible service and company
Unable to create account
There is a bug where cannot enter a birth date before 2025 and ofc I wont be 18 if I am born in 2025.

Very poor app
I tried to download the app, but it would not let me advance pass the photo part. It said I need a photo, but there was no option for it to allow access to my photos nor would it allow me an option to take my photo.
No longer useful unless you pay
They’ve completely monetized the app. So you can’t meet anyone in another country and make plans. You can only meet people based on your current location. Therefore, this app has no advantage over bumblebff…
Hiding some nationalities
I do not think it is cool to make people think that their messages are not being responded while in fact their messages do not even appear on the other side because you hided the people of that country from the app. I hope you fix this😃

Right when I was almost done creating an account it froze up. I tried multiple times and now I can’t even use the app.

doesn’t work
I spent time uploading my photos and writing my bio, paid for the app, then all of a sudden the app banned me without any warning or any explanation. I barely even talked to anyone and never did or post anything inappropriate. I emailed to at least know the reason but nothing, no response. All money and time wasted. besides there are a lot of fake accounts on the app. instead of removing fake accounts they remove me for no reason.
Not free to use
I was really excited to try this app since I just moved to Spain for the summer post grad and I feel that many people in my situation would be on this app. That being said, it’s a shame they charge such a high annual price to use this app, given than many of their users are living on a low budget. If anyone knows of a similar app that is cheaper/free, please let me know!
Bring back the country forum pages!
One of the recent updates took away the country forum pages. That was one of the app's best features. I'll change my rating when it's back.
Needs some update to keep users safe.
I would love this app if it ensured my safety while using it. My problem is that I don't feel comfortable meeting up with random men, especially ones who are like 10-20 years older than me. So I specifically state in my travel plans that I do not want any men joining, yet they still do. While I can remove them, they can still see all the messages related to my specific plan with just one click. Which is why there should be a feature gives everyone the ability to approve or disapprove of everyone joining their travel plans. Also I don’t think people should be able to make and join travel plans until they’re verified.

Didn’t get to use the app and was charged
My niece got a hold of my phone and made an unauthorized purchase of this app on my phone. I did not even get to use this yet I’m responsible for the 55/year. Not worth it and not fair. If you have to make a decision, just choose Going Solo since that does require any money.

Honestly, this app is simply a less quality version of the Going Solo app. The app is full of spam and the features aren’t very engaging.
Total scam
I signed up for a three day free trial and found the app well designed but unfortunately didn’t really help me meet anyone while solo traveling. Furthermore they lock you into an annual subscription from the start with no refund policy, which seems a bit predatory given most will only use the app a couple months out of the year. It’s got potential but feel like early days and they need to allow for month to month subscriptions.
Very disappointed.

Too much lack of functionality. I’ve made 2 groups targeted towards finding girl travel partners and all who were joining were guys cause they can’t read or leave girls alone anywhere we go. I wanted to remove them from my groups but guess what? I can’t remove people from my group, there is no feature for that. The most basic feature is missing. You also don’t get a notification or can easily find people that DM you. That location is hidden in a small spot. I found old DM requests weeks later. I also can’t leave a review that button on the app won’t work at all. And the report button on the app also only takes you to your phone settings, that’s it. What a waste of my money. I had nothing to gain from this app.

Reinstalling doesn’t work

When first started using was great but some kind of bug now is preventing me logging in again with Apple ID. It keeps exiting app when I try and I’ve tried resetting account & support is no where to be found.

I double checked and my location services were still off and there was no information on my profile to indicate where i am from. HOW DID HE KNOW? I immediately deleted my account and this app, and I feel really creeped out.

I’m a bit confused. Maybe I’m not using the app right. This is my first week on. I’ve gotten 2 messages saying “Somebody wants to hang out”. But, when I go to the app. There’s no indication of that.

I’m fine with that, but would like to try it before I buy it.
The free option is extremely limited, and unsure if it’s accurate, considering it would show blurred profiles, saying people near me, but I don’t believe it considering the same profile is following my entire pathway. The odds are lows in my opinion. I messaged one person, but never heard back, and I don’t blame her. She was 22? I think? But she was one of 5 others I could message on the free version of the app, and the other 4 were women 18-19 years old.
And to my last point, unsure again if it’s just coincidence but I was only be shown women. I’m cool with meeting up with women, I understand, and had no intention of using this as a dating app. However, big however, is I’m a 33 year old male. I doubt a 20 year old woman would want to go and explore with someone with that age difference, also, by themself.
Therefore, my conclusion, I think it might be a scam app, or it could just be heavily towards teens and younger 20’s. It could also be there are very few people of my age group. Also, the free version is so limiting you can’t really write a review appropriately. Hence, I’m giving the benefit of the doubt with 2/5. Cheers.
