Being forced to check a bag and charged due to unreasonable restrictions regarding carry-ons. Definitely choosing another airline next time. It’s not luggage. It’s a small carry-on bag.
Fix your WiFi.
The app is useless unless the in flight WiFi is functional, which it often is not. This seems addressable given that the rest of the plane seems to work fine.

The app log in, and check in procedure is awful. Why am I directed to dozens of flights that I don’t want? You make it very difficult to find my original itinerary.

First class passengers
Our connecting flight from Orange County was delayed , also United , by one hour and 25 minutes. United did not put a hold for us as first class passengers but did put a hold on for one other person until 7 o’clock, when that other person showed up, they closed the doors and did not wait even when they knew we were in route. Daughter and I arrived at 6:55 at the gate.

The latest update made the app crash so often and when it works it gets stuck on loading pages every time I use it. It feels like a bloated app now.
The Worst App
I don’t fly much with United Airlines. The app is terrible, the check in process is terrible. They run you through 500 steps and after you get screwed on additional charges they ask for your card and frame it as “we’ve gone contactless” and you NEED to put your card in to finish checking in. No other airline has asked for this as a necessity. Then when you reluctantly put your card in, it error times out and says try again at another time. I might never fly United again just because of this check in process through this terrible app.

Purposeful antagonism of flyers
I have a free seat next to me yet United is dis-uniting me from my wife and placing her 5 rows away. Perhaps United is vying to become the next Spirit Airlines, and suffer the same consequences.

Someone should get fired for app. So many glitches, doesn’t load properly, gets hung up, missing content, shuts down unexpectedly. Does show information accurately. Say my flight is about to board after I’ve already landed. One of the worse functioning apps.

Ridiculous
You make it so difficult to navigate through. Make it seem like you HAVE to pay extra for a seat. I can only imagine how many people fall for it as you pad your pockets. Flying sucks because of this BS and all the nickel and dimeing.
No carry on policy
I cannot believe that economy seating now does not cover carry on luggage. Think about it- if you are willing to only pay for the cheap seats, it may (quite probably) be because you can't afford anything else. And now, just because you are not wealthy, you are forced to pay an additional $75 for a CARRY ON to be checked!

Excessive battery consumption and horrible optimization
While the actual UI of the app is good, it absolutely drains battery like no other. Probably the app you want to drain you battery the least is one you have to use while traveling, yet this is literally one of the worst apps when it comes to battery optimization. It also frequently stutters and freezes, forcing restarts, even on a newer phone.

Waste more time on United app than any other. Could not find my flight for current travel. Took 3 times signing in over and over. Please redesign - your frequent traveler is disgusted.

I’m not sure what your app team is doing, but the app is almost unusable. Consistently logs me out, never remembers who I am even though I’m constantly checking the box, it’s just absolute trash.

Les télévisions n’ont pas fonctionné de tout le vol Washington Bruxelles le 01/05 et je faisais également partie des personnes qui n’ont pas eu accès au wifi et il n’y a aucune possibilité de réclamer et demander une compensation !
False Advertising
Upgrade seat selection displayed choices of using either cash or points, yet once selected, there was no ability to switch between the two. If advertised as being a choice, both should be easier to choose and the passenger should not be forced to use only cash.

I have been a faithful UA customers for many years. But the way they mislead pricing and pinch and gouge for every penny is sad and pathetic.

“My Flights” in flight status if not actually on the flight
It used to be that I could add flight numbers to my flights for purposes of the flight status tap. I’m apparently not able to do that any more.
This is a real inconvenience in the situation where you are coordinating travel with colleagues or family members on different flights. Can you please return that feature?
