I can’t use this app anymore because I consistently have an issue on desktop where it automatically capitalizes every “i,” even when this setting is turned off on my computer and happens in zero other applications I use. It’s so annoying.
Spellcheck
You can turn off spellcheck on desktop, but not mobile? Why? Ridiculous. One star for this alone.
Black screen, lost all files
So I tried this to put my geology field notes in it. It was overall OK, getting the job done. Then yesterday the app would not launch, I rebooted, still black. Deleted, reinstalled, logged on, all my files are gone. Good bye Upnote, never again.
Google sign in on desktop doesn’t work

Not iPadOS Optimized
I like the desktop version quite a bit, but unfortunately the Dev uses the iOS interface for the larger iPad. This becomes most problematic when using a 13” model in landscape mode. There is no way to pin the far left sidebar pane (folder view) so you are forever expanding it when you want to jump from note to note.
Paste from markdown breaks line
Bug with paste from markdown that breaks the Line Breaks making it all appear in the same line. Also disabling auto-markdown formatting is wonky. It sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t especially when typing hashtag # kindly fix !

That would be really helpful if I could save web pages into the app on iPhone and iPad. Now my entire folder structure is gone with no way of getting it back!!! So angry!! Not relying on this anymore!!!
iPad app missing features macOS includes, not optimized for iPad, no end-to-end encryption
The iPad app is missing features the macOS app has,and the iPad version of the app isn’t optimized for iPad. Very, very frustrating to say the least. I have noticed that the developers don’t innovate or add new features. I don’t understand why the developers don’t make the iPad app identical in features set to the macOS app, and I don’t understand why they don’t keep adding features to this app. It seems like they just made it and they’re keeping it as-is. To me this is a waste of a great opportunity. Also, the app isn’t fully optimized for iPad or the Magic Keyboard trackpad gestures, and it should be. And UpNote does not offer end-to-end encryption of notes like Apple Notes offers. So many reasons not to pay for the full version. I want to buy the full version, but I’m not seeing any effort on the part of the developers to improve or innovate. And it seems UpNote support isn’t responsive.

Formatting needs work.
One of the most annoying things with notation app is you often find yourself fighting with them for formatting and it ruins really good apps. I stopped using Craft docs for this reason and I’m now running into it with Upnote. An example is if I have a list and I’ve switched from number bullet to symbol sub-bullet - this part is fine. When pasting text in (because there’s no copy and paste and match style on iPad) sometimes this will throw formatting off so instead of continuing with the nested bullet format, Upnote strips all bullet point symbols (even though the toolbar shows bullet point enabled there’s none on the screen). When you try to backspace to get the non-bulleted item back on the line with the previous point (which IS bulleted) and return to create what should be a new bulleted point, it does not retain the formatting and again you have the nested item just floating with no bullet point. This seems isolated to the iPad app, as I don’t run into it as much on the Mac.
Update: this is also happening when mixing bullets and numberings. I can’t use numbers for major headers and bullets for sub insets because when you try to go back to the numbering system it starts back over at 1 instead of having that continuity and again you spend so much time fighting the formatting - it’s very reminiscent of Microsoft products where Word tries to “predict” what you want to do but in doing that it’s actually making so much more work because it’s often not what you’re trying to do and to go back and try to undo the predictive formatting is so tough and time consuming.

It’s not scanning
Pressing on the scan button in the mobile app just takes a jpeg pic. No scan in pdf format as one would expect.
