My next entry: they just broke the game and are again, lying about it!
They added a new feature Monster Generator (which allows the player to create an invader or ghost on their own.) I believe this feature was introduced without adequate testing because now, no resource lairs are produced when killing ghosts or invaders. These resource locations are the literal lifeblood of the gameplay. When I reported the bug I was told by support that it is the new design change, but other kingdoms are still today posting results showing that their’s are working as expected. Support is lying and not escalating the Fatal Bug!

Well, it would seem to me that they’ve already got my feedback. Although my negative review may have gotten their attention briefly, it is highly unlikely anything different will be done this time - but, I will send a copy of my previously ignored complaint to the address they provided to see.
I will update with any positive changes... If there is no update - then it just means my recommendation given here stands.

After year's of frustrating play, where other players don't honor their agreements, I’d finally accepted that players with bad attitude were just a part of the game I was going to have to accept. What has finally, after several years, led me to post this review has been the consistently bad attitude, Service (servers continually going down, server lag causing one to miss plays or get killed, etc.), and dealing with a company that is fully incapable of even the slightest understanding of what the word Support means. I know a little about the software/server Quality & Support issues, how difficult it can be, and what constitutes “Good Support” having been a Director of Software Quality Assurance for a gaming company, and Director of Engineering Services (which included QA; Technical Support, Training, & Publications; and Release Engineering). I can say, without reservation, that for the money required for you to effectively play at the higher levels (and if you want to quickly succeed at the lower levels) this has to be some of the worst support I have ever received. After several years, I have finally determined (after this final fiasco) that I will play out the value of my accounts, and never again play again afterwards. Waiting for several days for the delivery of crucial purchased resources within the game, being charged for those undelivered items accompanied by a refusal to refund the money, having those items then credited to the wrong account... I am done with it! I was a fool to continue playing. My advice: Don't be a fool and don’t start playing this game in the first place.

I have played Vikings since before Aristocrat mobile and MTG owned Plarium from 2015 to present day. I wanted to dial in a few facts supporting the 1 star review.
1. Plariums customer support absolutely sucks and they are 1000% copy paste responses and beat around the bush that never helps your issue.
2. Literally a 1/4 of the in-town screen is bank offers. Floating majorly around $10-100. If that doesn’t speak volumes, I don’t know what else to say.
3. The game is pay to play, I have wasted thousands on this game of the course of 11 years.
4. The game is no longer fun for numerous reasons. The updates are non stop. You cannot keep up with the updates no matter your play strategy without paying approximately $200-500 per update depending on significance.

Updates for spenders’s only
Unfortunately, all the fun in this game has gone for 90% of the community and the developers will not listen. They just keep adding updates and catering to the players that spend money and I’m not talking small amount of money. You have to spend a huge amount of money to keep up in this game. I personally am slowing down and not playing as much because it is not fun anymore. If they could just stop the updates and let the players enjoy the game or maybe listen to the English community suggestions instead of only a select few that would be great, but unfortunately, like I said, the developers are out of touch and don’t care what the community thinks it’s all about spending for bank packs to keep up these days.
Wallet whales unite
Now I wouldn’t mind spending $50 on a cheeky little phone game, if it would benefit you. I’ve done that on previous games and after a month of playing them I was placing top 10 on the server in troop kills events, etc. This game is not that type of game. The devs are more racketeers than software developers. Spend gold to unlock top tier troops, then spend gold to train them. Then they’re completely useless, unless you complete all the knowledge associated with them. The only reason I still play this game is to see the hero attack animation when you attack Norther Vultures.

This game has increasingly become pay-to-win. To progress at a competitive level and keep pace with other players, it requires spending at least $100 per month. After more than 6 years playing I observed that the game’s monetization model has only intensified over time, making it less enjoyable for long term players. Based on my experience, I would NOT RECOMMEND starting this game.

Recent update made this game pay to play only
I had rated this game a 5 for the last 10 years I have played, never expected to win against those that pay. It was still fun to close the events and help those in my clan close clan events. However, with the recent update, it is impossible to close out personal events for level 37 or 39 towns without paying. Level 40 towns have always been impossible from a town I was gifted, but I was careful not to upgrade past 39 on my main account. I am considering quitting as many others have already. Runes and new uber chiefs are worthless even to those that pay. Have added more Ubers but reduced level 1-6 invaders, why?Now all the Ubers are gone with those that pay and enhance hit and nothing for free play. Fix this before it is too late Plarium.
Beware, a pay to play game with a dishonest company behind it all!
If you don't want to constantly spend money, then you won't enjoy this scam of a game! Even if you do spend money to participate, or heaps of money to stay competitive, as soon as there are any issues the "support" team (they must be using the term support ironically) dismisses you concerns with no recourse. If you have a pay to play game model , at least provide a basic level of support for your paying customers. Beware of these rip off artists!

This game will literally rip you off. Was idle in the game for only 3 weeks, and they removed the clan I had created and built up with in app purchases. Email customer service asked them to restore or reimburse and they did neither, customer service is completely non existent. Stay away from this developed and especially this game.
Needs Landscape mode for iPad
I wanted to play but the game will only display in Portrait mode on an iPad Pro. Only game I’ve ever seen do this. You can’t see much of the playfield in Portrait mode and makes it unplayable for me.

Updates killed game
Newest updates took all “strategy” out of the game. Now it’s either you have deep wallets or you don’t. Strategy went down the drain. Beautiful game killed.

Okay so I downloaded this game, but when I played, it said “updating resources” which I’ve seen. But it wouldn’t update resources! It kept going from 7 mb straight to 1. Annoying.

Not fun.
There are too many players at grossly higher levels that got there through pay to play or some other more scandalous means. The game is old. I have played almost every day for around 10 years. I am in a small clan which has been together for most of the time. We use the game for chatting and killing a few minutes out of the day. I would not recommend this game for anyone. Even the chat function is flawed.
Outrageous
This game honestly used to be fun. Back when Holmgang was 3 trillion influence, and clan sieges were actually doable by one person. But the latest updates have been the last straw! My clan never got to do a single Holmgang, because whenever we got close enough to the requirements, they would raise them, first 1 trillion, then 3, and now 9 trillion. Seriously! Plarium actually makes clan and fury sieges harder now too, so now I can’t do them, and you can’t level down your Tower of Odin. Jotenhiem (not sure what the spelling is) is pointless unless you have several hundred bucks to burn. Asgard- also very expensive. CvC- Plarium also changed those, so I can’t get the last few lvls also. This game is literally designed for only the top spenders! Finally, the last few lvls of Helheim are just a ridiculous waste of time. I really did used to enjoy this game, but the insane amount of money needed to stay ahead is a lethal trap. I heard some of the top dogs spent multiple -THOUSAND- dollars. I don’t think very many people will read this, but to those who have- BE WARNED! It’s fun at first, but if you stick around long enough you’ll be forced into an endless cycle of spending money. I used to enjoy this game, I really did, but now I don’t enjoy this game, and the constant changes will likely continue till the cows come home. I’ll probably try Clash of Clans and see if they change things every two seconds!!
Targeted Bans for Phantom Rules
This game used to be fun, now this game is being policed by a bunch of crooks. They want you to invest a ton of money to be competitive or even just survive. Then after events they start banning players and taking hard earned skins and prizes for your hard work away and tell you that rule 2.2 has been violated. Thing is that rule covers almost every action a player can perform in game. The support team is a joke, they don’t give specific reasons on why players get banned, clans get fined medals or even skins removed days after certain global events. The support team doesn’t even answer players questions as to exactly why they get banned or what violation was broke. This has lead to other players in game speculating and guessing as to what rule was broken and mis-information is being spread. If you hear back from support before the 24 hr period they tell you they will give you answers count yourself lucky. Then be prepared to be disappointed in the answer they provide. They have this investigation team that magically finds this proof of rule violations but you have to take their word for it because they will not provide any more information about it and they say they are very sorry. Don’t be fooled, they are not sorry about anything. Yet this investigation team can’t seem to find the hundred of players that cheat in this game by hitting Alts filled with billions of troops, trade troops during Jot, make deals with other players to gain more points during HG. They target clans and players and steal their money in forms of Asgard medal fines and taking back skins… new players beware this game is being over policed by white collar criminals. Nothing is guaranteed, if you earn medals or skins during events and are feeling good about your progress in game don’t be surprised to sign into game (if you can get in) to see they have taken back the medals or skins you earned and give you no answers.
Also the lag during events is horrible, barely playable at times… but the only thing you can count on for sure in this game is the lag… they have mastered that portion in game, guaranteed lag.

Extremely poor customer service after malfunctions
Be very careful giving these guys a nickel.
Like other customers I have experienced repeated glitches in this game where the game swallowed a large portion of the game resources I had just purchased.
Upon reporting these errors to customer service they deny it happened. At times I was able to capture screen shots proving it happened and thought they would want to know so they could repair it.
Apparently customer service is headed by Baghdad Bob because despite pictures showing the glitches, they continue to deny it happened.

This game had so much potential and fun but the game got to greedy and wants everyone to spend hundreds to just be a low level player. Avoid this game and save your money. To be a top level player you will have to spend hundreds monthly.

The sunset is coming
This used to be a great game with super social benefits. Each kingdom is full of dead clans, zombie clans and then a few super huge clans made up of people that have more money than good sense. You used to be able to grow with help from others and things were very competitive. I am embarrassed to say I have spent thousands of dollars and I cannot keep up with the big guys anymore. This is not a platform for people who are on a budget.

The top bar across the screen will not load all my resources i have been receiving from clan members. They share trillions of rss but my top bar only shows billions. I keep running out of rss even though the record shows i have trillions that i cannot even access. I can’t get plarium to help me use the trillions that i am showing because it’s not being uploaded on tje top bar . Im frustrated. This is so unfair.

Broken game
I used to have lots of fun with this game during its first year but after that it.became a constant battle with lag . developers keep on adding new stuff to make the game interesting but the lag and the bugs never got fixed. You will need a lot of patience and thick wallet to stay competitive with the game.
Repetitive gameplay that's expensive
I've been playing the game for year, because of the social aspect of the game. The actual gameplay is laggy at best, sometimes taking a minute or more to get results of the battles, especially in global events like Asgard. Development is slow and I'll thought out, often giving you little advancement, or impossible to achieve unless you are in the highest ranked clans, and spend thousands every month. Support is quick to get back to you if there is a problem, but doesn't enforce the rules of gameplay, almost always say it is your device or network, even when the same issue is experience d by all players. The newest puzzle feature, takes maybe a couple of hours to complete, leaving you to do the same puzzles every day to get the meager daily rewards. There is no way whatsoever to play the game for free, and be competitive.

Do not spend money on this
I played this game for years and enjoyed the people I made friends with most of all. I spent some money on it not a fortune but enough. Then plarium cheated me and would not correct the problem. I ended up finally just deleting it
Bad review deleted
I wrote a review about how much of a many grab this game had become. Then in their most recent patch they added a mini game ripped off from a popular trope thrown into tons of in game advertisements included in almost every App Store game. You know the ones where you try to open a bridge or drop lava on a bad guy that says only 3% of people can beat this! Or where it starts with “Your IQ = 150” then drops to 47 when the game fails. They added that to this game. It’s incredibly cheese and looks like and performs like it was cobbled together by a first year programming student.
Puzzles in Viking
If you want a puzzle game then make it. Putting puzzles and other non clan activities take away from the main idea of the game this is a solo thing and is a deterrent in playing. I have played since the game was 5/6 months old and is get more expensive and less to the intent of a team game puzzles are a time killer. If upgrades needed make it a team upgrade not solo game update that helps clan and playing together. Plus the gifts are useless 20k or less rss really a waste
