Subscription issues
The app clearly states it sees I canceled the free trail subscription but continues to attempt to charge my card over and over again. This should not happen and if I kept money on that card y’all would be stealing from me. App cool idea in all but definitely don’t think it’s worth 60$ a year I canceled it same day and I’m still being charged for it. People pay attention to the cards you connect to these apps it’s all just a scam to steal your hard owned 💰
Horrible
I Cancel subscription before the subscription was due and I still end up getting charged! And the charge was $47.99 . The interesting part is that it continues to charge me and I am not subscribed. For the developer - you’ll have a problem and you need to fix it! This is unacceptable for people who no longer want to try this app! I don’t want to continue to be charged $47.99 any longer please! I don’t have that kind of money to be spending let alone on something that I’m not using
Beware of free trial
I was charged although I know I canceled with sufficient time and then was charged double what I should have been charged. This is not worth $60 and buyers beware.

The experience of using this app is ruined by the constant interruptions from the ads. Even after the free trial, I decided that it wasn’t worth my money to continue paying for. The excessive pop-ups and interruptions should have stopped after having had premium, and those self promoting ads make the use of this app obsolete and unpleasant. If I wanted to pay for Premium, I would. Just because you put constant obnoxious ads does NOT mean that someone is going to buy. In fact, as someone in business school, quite the opposite.
can’t even customize your homescreen widget without being demanded a credit card
you could customize it a few months back. just another app trying to squeeze people dry. want to know the best way to improve your vocabulary? read a book!
Predatory Design
the app is fine as a vocabulary app, and the widget on the home screen is nice. but every single page of the app is designed to get you to buy a premium subscription. they offer to let you take a vocabulary test to see what your level is, and then proceed to let you take the entire test before telling you you have to pay to see the results
Another mindless paid app
Not a bash on the app at all. Loved it! Smiled through whole setup. Then like a brick to the face, “start your three day free trial.” What happened to buying an app for like five or ten bucks? Or even let me just get a $45 app that has everything it needs on it, no internet required, just simple and easy. I know that would make too much sense, but instead lets profit from people’s desire to better themselves. Let’s make people pay a subscription to learn new words cause they’re too lazy to read a dictionary. It’s fine I’m just upset and it tells you how trivial and hollow my life really is. Wonderful app by the way ;)
Bait and switch
The app would have users answer like 50 question before taking them to the page payment method to sign up for a free trial. This marketing practice of having people spend time personalizing their experience before disclosing cost is absolutely disgusting.
No Free Version
After answering a series of questions it then told me I would be reminded in three days that my trial is up or I could pay for an ANNUAL subscription now. Deleted immediately.

I checked the box the app provided to get a notification before the free trial ends however, I never got any notifications and they charged me $52. I’m upset and I don’t want to subscribe but it looks like now I am subscribed for a year now.

This app makes you spend 10 minutes setting it up before it eventually tells you that you are only setting up for a three day free trial and then it will cost you. I wish this app was upfront about the cost before it makes you set it up and waste time.

Everything is premium and it’s not even funny. This app is SUPPOSED to assist you learn words. But the best way most humans are known to learn (trial and error), is premium (the quizzes/practice). I don’t get why they don’t just add ads to stuff like that for the free users.
They say there’s an ad-sponsored version, but when I tried the method to get it, it didn’t work. Maybe I did it wrong, but even so, there’s no other way to get that version. I don’t get why they don’t just give the ad-sponsored version to every non-premium user automatically.
If it’s money they want, then at least giving the free users the ad-sponsored version would give them the money they want.
I’ve NEVER begged for ads, this is a first, and hopefully the last. Without ads, the free version is 1-star and the premium is the 4-star everyone is talking about. If you don’t want to pay another subscription on top of your others, do NOT get this app.

Waste of Time
This app is always has ads that pop up on TikTok or Instagram, and seems super useful and probably could help you actually learn more words for your vocabulary. Answer 1 min worth of questions and of course it says, you get three days for free woww how amazing and then they’ll charge you after those three days if you want to keep the app. Just ridiculous.

Free Trial Misleading
The app is good but I was charged for a premium subscription after signing up for the free trial. Extremely misleading and now I have to contact Apple support and my bank. Very inconvenient for a 20 something year old

Not good for teens
Is it possible to remove the sexual content / word topic choices from the menus so I can get this for my teen daughter’s phone? It says “13-17” is a choice when you make an account and select your age range, but then there are SUPER awkward topics you can “follow” for that age. Based on this I suppose it will eventually display X-rated words as well? What creeps want word-porn in their vocabulary app?!? Steering clear for now.
Slowly locks you out of free features
I really enjoyed this app and have had it for several months. The first thing I did was set up a theme as a background of the vocab I was learning, a warm home with a fire place and rain in the background. It was simple, but I loved it. I was strongly considering upgrading to premium, but out of the blue the app updated and made it so that even simples themes like the one I had was only available to premium members. That inconsistency and lack of appreciation for consistent users of the email has really turned me off from using it. I am deleting the app and looking at others. I recommend you look elsewhere for your vocab interests as this app is not one that will work with you as you work with it
No support available to get a refund !!!
I’ve been trying to write constant emails to get a refund after a nephew of mine subscribed to the app which I honestly didn’t need .
Don’t get me wrong , the application and the collection of words is absolutely amazing , however it’s just now what I need right now . So please help me do that after I’ve cancelled by subscription or get in touch with me .

Giving only sexual words
Okay I don’t know if I put a setting or some sort, but it was normal for a while, only glanced at widgets and never touched anything. But it gave at one point ONLY sexology stuff, then started getting back to normal a few weeks ago, I decided to look into the history to see and all the sexology things it showed me were not in the history. I felt very bewildered and uncomfortable with my use especially since I tried to see if I had ever even enabled that category, which I didn’t until today when I looked it up and it had no checkmark. Either I really did something, but it felt like the app was having a streak of freak for a while. Not willing to pay for it just for sex definitions when I purposely put I wanted ones for emotions and writing.

I love the app but it keeps 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️playing with my streak I take consistency personally lol it’s saying I didn’t open the app when I did messing up my streak 🤦🏾♀️
Needs improvement
There is no way to search up definitions for specific words. This app would be 10x better if you could search word definitions and save those words to allow them to come up for you to learn them. A lot of the words they suggest I already know but there are many words I’d like to look up and save (without having to add a custom word definition which is a strange feature they have)
My experience
The app is functional but I have been trying to cancel my subscription before the 7-day free and they charged me the full price twice. It is impossible to get in contact with them. No email, no phone number. It feels like a scam. It is hard to believe. So be careful with that.
Great app but be careful
I love this app. However, I signed up for the free trial and I toggled the bar to be notified ahead of time for when my free trial ended. But today I got charged the annual price with no notification that the trial was ending. And no way to contact customer support
Constant reminders of subscription
The look and feel of the app is well done and supports learning. Where it fails for me and the reason why I removed app is all the reminders of subscription. The worst was taking a pretty hefty test only to find out I have to pay and subscribe to see the result. This aggravated me greatly.
Could be great
Started the app a while ago, and honestly loved it. But the app suggestions are killing me. Every 3rd word I’m getting prompted to save more words, or favorite them. I can’t even learn because it’s so distracting to constantly click off of a tutorial that I learned months ago. I’m about to delete the app it’s so frustrating.
