Upgrade Not Activated
I paid for the monthly upgrade. It has not been activated. I contacted Customer Service three days ago and besides the initial AI response, there has been no communication and no attempt to fix the situation.
Bank doesn’t connect - no support
Tried all the ways suggested on mobile and web, back still won’t connect. Create a ticket right? Maybe contact support? Nope, endless scrolls trying to find a way to contact them to no avail. Apple won’t let me get a refund even though it’s only been 3 hours since purchase. I’m out $20 with a useless app that has no customer support. There’s even an aggravating “Support Button Missing?” Statement at the bottom of their help pages, just driving the nail in deeper. Avoid this app at all cost!

Paid version doesn’t allow to modify settings
You only get 11 categories. It doesn’t matter if you use the free or paid version. So silly and stupid.

Bank Sync is unreliable
Canceling app. Reviews around the internet show that Budget Bakers is pretty shady. Banks will sync but it won’t last and then support will respond within 3 days, claim they are working on it, but not fix the issue. Don’t pay for lifetime subscription unless syncing isn’t important for you.
Poorly made app sold at high cost
I bought the premium to this app a year or so ago, it’s features were irritating and unusable then and they refused to give me a refund. The only reason I kept it on my phone was because I had already paid for it. Opened it back up recently in hopes it had improved and it is possibly worse. Example issues are adding a credit card account and instead of the balance on the card being what you owe, it adds it as cash you have on hand. Switch it to what you have left to spend, still just cash on hand. Buy something on the credit card? Just subtracts it from what you already owe on the card. Or, connect a bank, (which often fails), and it just disconnects the next day.

Lacks Debt Management Option
When I used to use an Android phone, the Android version of this app was great, especially with the Debt Management feature, which is a must-have. But after switching to iPhone, I’m missing a lot of features, and the UI on Android was much better than this.
Worst Experience Ever!
Switching from Android, I hoped for something better. But everything is just worse. No way to calculate everytime. It seems like it's built for a child or somebody technologically handicapped. Switching to another app now...
Does not sync like it should
Very nice app except that it does not sync with my credit union without me having to login to the credit union each time I open Wallet. This really kills its usefulness because it takes time to do secure login to my CU. So until that is fixed I would NOT recommend.
Avoid if you use Citi
The app does not work with Citi. I get a blank page with a 400 error when I try to connect.
Android UI >>> iOS UI
I have been a user with a lifetime subscription for years and I recently switched to an iPhone. The iOS app UI is inferior. I can’t see all my accounts without scrolling right-left. I can’t select multiple accounts and see the balance. I can’t create goals.
Bad Customer Service
Good luck if you pay for premium and something breaks. Apple Card worked fine before apple prompted me to change my password - afterward I removed Apple Card from WalletApp when it started to act up, thinking I would simply start fresh and re-add. No dice, I repeatedly get the words “TECHNICAL ERROR” message. File a service request including details AND screenshots of the authentication/integration process to show where/when the process failed. Customer service responded and addressed a completely different error message, called it a “provider problem,” and then stopped responding. Have offered to assist with troubleshooting, as I have a tech background. No response. it’s been a week. Really frustrating. Outside the refund window, may have to file a dispute.

I got this app so I could see my budget, but it won’t even update my budget. Terrible. I paid for premium and it’s still not working.
Doesn’t connect
After buying a lifetime membership, I connected my first credit card (Citi)- great! I then tried to connect my next bank (Chase) and the card worked but the checking account didn’t show up-not great. Then, I tried to connect another card and savings account (AMEX)- neither worked-terrible. Then, I tried to connect my Vanguard Cash Plus Savings, and it isn’t supported… so then I disconnected my other accounts because it’s useless to only track half my accounts. I want my money back. Buyer beware.
Lack of "Debt" section
It is very unfortunate that "debt" and "loan" functionality is not available in ios version of this app. I used to use this app only to manage my debt management. I bought premium subscription for that as well. Hope they will include it very soon.

No Category or Subcategory Customization
I bought the premium version of this app. I previously used a different app that allowed customization of categories and subcategories. There’s no way I can use this app because I can’t add or delete categories and subcategories. I just have to hope that there are enough built in categories and subcategories to convert my old budget to this app. Guess what… there’s not enough categories and subcategories. I’m not going to be able to use this app unless they add the ability to add and delete categories and subcategories.
Premium is a waste of money
Paid for premium. Sync doesn’t work properly, many missing transactions despite total being accurate. The solution provided is to disconnect and reconnect the offending account. Problem is, connecting bank accounts is a coin flip at best and that’s being generous to the point of delusion. You are better off manually tracking your expenses. The effort I’ve spent trying to get the app and website to work properly has far outmatched what I would have spent manually inputting the relevant data myself.
Bank connection does not work
This app seems great, but I’m experiencing an issue that I’ve seen many other users have with my bank accounts not connecting. The app is practically useless when bank accounts can’t connect.

You can’t connect a bank to test the service without making a payment, despite their website saying there is a 14 day free trial. I contacted support they added a 14 day voucher to my account. Cool, but the free trial should be more easily accessible, for example the user should be able to start the trial themselves after signing up without having to contact support.
I’ve also reported several issues with the formatting which is inconsistent throughout the app. In some place commas and decimals are used and some not. Some places list the currency and some not. When I put in a ticket for this, support made it sound like I’m crazy and that there is no priority to have consistent currency formatting throughout the app. This app feels like a beta and isn’t polished enough for serious use.
Update: after a year of nothing being fixed, I lowered my rating and that caught the developers attention. They finally responded to my support ticket and addressed a few of the issues, but still refuse to fix some of the others like listing amounts as “USD 89.1” instead of “$89.10” to follow proper US formatting.
Re: developer response - you can “acknowledge” these issues all you want, but until the issues are resolved, I am not increasing my rating and will not be recommending this app to others.

Almost there
While this app is great in terms of providing the user with a way to have their finance schedule connected to their bank account, the functionalities that go with it are not so efficient. I would look to delete and add multiple payments from a list without going through each individually. A lot of tools and properties are individualized, so it feels like opening up a Russian doll to change a single property. Great for management and setting up, could be more robust.
