I understand eventually ill have to buy a new codex for ultramarines but I cant access the one I already purchased
Boyz Data Sheets and others incorrect
The app is still using 10th Edition datasheets.
GW just cant get out of their own way
I dont even know what i need to buy to make this app work but im not going to. Its absolutely predatory for GW to send new players out to buy hardcover 10th edition codexes for the PRIVILEGE (lol) of viewing your 11th edition rules. You probably need a minimum of three $60 books plus a subscription to use this if you play a Divergent Chapter. thanks for nothing.
Use Free Tools Instead
You can’t use the app if you don’t own a Codex. There’s nothing here for anyone without an outdated overpriced book that doesn’t even contain all of the updated rules for 11th edition. Do not support this app.
Can’t use
With 11th edition dropping I can’t use this app anymore, I have an older iPhone and older iPad specifically for war gaming apps and now I literally can’t use the app on either since its iOS 18 or greater. I will revert to 5 star rating if its ever compatible again.

Aftet the newest update I can’t look at datasheets from a unit page because it crashes every time.

The app will not stop crashing now and is basically unusable. Waiting for another update to fix this as I can’t even look at datasheets without it going down. Poor preparation
Double paywall?
The fact that they want you to buy their physical books to get a code to use the app you’re already having to pay monthly subscription to is criminal. They should just make it the sub fee and be done with it. The books are outdated by the time they release usually anyway. Waste of paper
App keeps crahsing
I reset my phone and everything but it crahses each time I go to list builder. The only way to stop it is to uninstall and reinstall but then it deletes all my lists.
Double 1s on the charge
GW has a real disconnect with reality, but they are getting there, which is why I gave them a 1 instead of a zero. But also because Apple won’t let me.

Seriously, it’s like they’re a bunch of college frat boys that woke up with a hangover and realized they have a paper due and rushed to get it done. Simply unprofessional, limited checks for functionality. They must not be getting paid enough, I guess

Crashing when going to Battle forge
I actually really enjoy this app, but with the update to 11th edition, I have ran into an issue. Everytime I open up the app and click on Battle Forge, the app instantly crashes. It all started when I was changing the enhancement for a chaplain. Once I clicked on an enhancement the entire app crashed. Please fixd. Now I can't go into the battle forge. Please fi
11th debacle
I really want to like this app. I want to use it this weekend to play 11th, and they almost have made it mandatory, but I have no way of getting a codex to get a code in time. Space Marine and Ork players would have to buy a codex and then buy another new codex here on a few weeks. So now I’m flipping between this, the Chaos faction download of the new detachments, and New Recruit to put lists into this so I can hopefully use the match functionality this weekend. Literally everything being the paywall is free from GW now, and I can see army’s of people I’m playing against for free. It makes no sense to have to get an outdated physical book rather than have an option to pay for the digital unlock.

If you delete a leader, app breaks
Deleting a leader prior to un attaching them from their unit crashes the app and repeatedly crashes it every time you try to access the army builder
Gatekeeping an app is crazy
Literally cannot build a list if you don’t buy a brand new $50-75 book with a code. And that’s just one army. You CANNOT build more than one list unless you are subscribed to a monthly or yearly service… games workshop is so greedy. This is after spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on their plastic and even then the books get changed every 3 years…
App is Unusable
With the latest update, if you have access to any of the paid content on this app and you try to access said content, it will crash your app, rendering it unusable. Having such a massive flaw that penalizes those who have actually paid money to access content on this app is completely unacceptable.

Perfectly non functional (just the way they intended)
Prior to 11th edition the app was bearable, quite literally doing the bear minimum that a multi billion dollar company would be asked of from its community of warcels and apologists, but now I can’t even access the army rules I paid for! The app crashes every time you attempt to do anything as simple as looking at a datasheet, I’m not even angry anymore I’m more sad as to how this has developed, consider any other source at this rate for rules and score keeping, a genuine waste of phone storage

Crashes almost every time I use it since the last update, almost completely unusable now.

Apparently the app keeps crashing after selecting one of the data sheets or characters.
Still not great
They updated it so it’s useable. Downside you still need to pay money for basic features and buy a damn book. WHY ID ALREADY BE PAYING FOR A SUBSCRIPTION
App breaking bug!
If you delete a unit that’s attached to another unit from your army, the app force closes and makes it so that any attempt to go to battle forge force closes the app! FIX!
Stupid
You have to buy an outdated book to get a code to unlock the corrected rules. All of which will be invalidated in a few months. Genius. Go to Wahapedia or New Recruit instead
Why do they do this…
Just make the rules free and let people buy their shiny books IF they want to. Genuinely no point in locking content behind a paywall other than increasing your bottom line and pricing out MORE customers.
Trash app
App crashes constantly, and is a far worse product than free rule and army builder websites despite requiring users to pay tons to access rules to play an already way overpriced game.
Crashes every time I open it
Very useful app for the game. Now it’s just crashing every time I open the battle forge tab.
Still no digital codices, still a mess
If James Workshop cared about you he wouldn’t make selling books the stickler for his selling wee toy soldiers empire. But Mr. Jimotheé Atelier doesn’t care, does he?
11th edition off to a bad start
Updated the app for 11th, deleted a support character that was attached, the app crashes. Tried to restart it, it crashes every-time. Tried to go to support here, support is down. So now I have to write a review to report a bug because there is nowhere to report it.
Bugs Everywhere
Incredibly unusable at the moment. Some of the new features are great, attaching characters to unit for example, but the app crashes on a whim.
Update Wiped Unlocked Content
I own several codices, and entered the code in app. I’ve been using this for months, but as of the new update, I cannot even view stat lines of my units. There is not a new book. The “update” wiped access to all my purchased content!

Needing to buy a separate real world book ontop of paying a premium army sub is a wild business model. 1 star.
2026 Updates
Updates with new rules, not present. Update necessary for new rules to be ran on the tables. Cross referencing of Opponents rules not present. With the amount of money we spend for our armies we expect to have a replicated Application reflecting the most recent changes.
Subscription system doesn’t work well
The app is alright overall but I absolutely cannot support an app that I subscribed to using real money, in which after the first day, my subscription just stopped working. If you want to use this app please do not spend any money on it.
Newbie, This or Warmachine
If warhammer is trying to get new players, they just lost this one.
The app’s free option only allows 1 build out, in which there are dozens of factions to choose from, and that’s before you look at space marines. So I’m not able to compare to see if what I chose is what I want.
After choosing an army, you need to choose from a dozen detachments, which details are locked to free accounts. As a player looking to get into a game, locking me out of information on required parts unless I pay is obscene.
And that’s where I said I’m done.
The Warmachine app allows me to see all of the rules an army options for free, and let’s me design 6 armies to let me examine how each build out.
Warhammer wants to charge me to see if I want to play. Warmachine is built so when I’m ready to commit, I know what I’m walking into.

Seems pointless
Trying to see how the app even works, and everything is locked content… So I go through the trouble of signing up. And everything is still locked content… Simply trying to learn how to play Warhammer. But I can’t even figure out how to use the dumb app. Seems pointless.
Codex not Available
I received an email telling me that I successfully redeemed my black Templars codex, and the app will not let me access it. Customer support has not helped at all either.
