What’s the point of having waze anymore?
Truck driver here. Not using the app for the directions since it’s not for trucks, but i would use it to check for traffic and ask people ahead questions about the traffic conduction and incidents. That seems to be gone now, so what’s the point of having waze when it’s just another gps app? Will be deleting the app.
Good for traffic but many flaws that hinder one’s ability to orient themselves
1. Doesn’t show which side of the street most addresses are on, nor does it reliably lead you to the actual entrance to a parking lot. Once had me circle an entire block and almost forced me onto the freeway instead of taking me to the stated address.
2. No on-screen compass
3. Constantly adjusts perspective, will randomly zoom out and then zoom back in preventing you from accurately assessing how far you are from your next turn
4. Measures your current move in FEET instead of showing you your next turn, meaning while approaching a turn with two left turn lanes, you will not have the information required to know which you should use unless you avert your eyes from the road and click on the list of directions
5. Doesn’t seem to have any intuitive way to add stops and plan a route
6. Unintuitive to map from one place to another. Instead of simply changing your starting location, you must “plan a drive”
7. Poor information on right turn only lanes, will tell you to keep right even if you’re supposed to proceed through a light.
Been trying to use this for work since it’s not bad for it, but these issues are infuriating and have me using at times upwards of 3 map applications just to effectively plan a day. Lots of problems.

Route from failure
Need to be able to change origination address not just your current location. This is absurd a navigation app doesn’t include this from day one.
Takes me on routes with road closures ALL THE TIME

Horrible App
This is the worst app I’ve ever made the mistake of opening. If I can post screenshots I will because I have opened and closed it about 200 times and uninstalled and reinstalled about 8, and nothing I do makes this app able to find an address that I have lived at for 2 years and has been around for longer than this stupid app has been. It always says that there’s no network but I can start driving and if I hit start driving it says something went wrong and the destination couldn’t be found. Again, a destination that has been physically there and active since long before this idiot app was created.
Majorly downhill
I really don’t know if they just messed with their algorithm or added something to it but it is taking me so much longer on my drives when I use this app compared to other navigation. This is utterly ridiculous that a 25 minute drive was turned into an hour due to improper navigation.
Adding a stop is trash
When you try to add a stop in Waze, it does not suggest stuff along your route and you get all spun around terrible system

No satellite map
Besides the fact that this app is really invasive, it doesn’t even have an option for the type of map you prefer. I always go with a satellite map because I want an accurate picture of what I’m looking at. Waze needs to get with it and update their app. No I don’t recommend this app.
Used to be good now actually AWFUL!!!
Not sure what happened but this app used to be great and now more and more I’m having days like today where it told me to go a way that I knew was going to be backed up because of construction but they told me to still go that way and it cost me an extra hour and a half out of my life gone because of this stupid app. Did they sell out??

Can’t trust Waze
Cannot trust Waze to send you the best way. Any time I use judgement and go against a turn or route they recommend, it ends up saving time. Happens nearly every time I use Waze! One of these days I will get around to reading the fine print and I imagine the explanation will be in there! (My conspiracy theory is that they are incentivized to send you on certain routes by companies who want you to pass by/stop at their store/establishment). Three stars because I do find it’s helpful on highways, long trips, and has been useful in the past in the event of unexpected traffic.
6 tenth of a mile
Why did you make changes to app? Is there a such thing as 6 tenths of a mile. How can I get rid of that. It’s normally 1/2 or 1/4. Please correct

WAS a good app, not in 2026
The ONLY value this app adds is relaying reported police locations *if they actually notify you ahead* - which brings me to the first complaint: horrible lag with everything. Is it intentional? Who knows, but if you want to miss your turns, use this app for directions (GPS positioning delay). Think it will give you the best route? Depends on how you define “best.” Every time I use it for best (fastest) route, I second guess it and I’m always right (Waze is wrong). If you want to be annoyed endlessly by all the worthless notifications, you’re in luck - this is the best app for that!!
