Worst out of all of them
This app is the worst out of all of the fast food apps, can’t just browse the menu to see what you may want without “making an order”.

What is the point of an app when it rarely works? Launch the app and hold your breath to see if it will launch successfully or crash.
Older phone? Forget about rewards
I have an iPhone 11 but with the most recent app update the app is unusable just crashes when you try to open it as well as if it loads crashes when you try to click on anything. Very disappointing since I have points that will now expire since I can no monger use the app and Whataburger doesn’t care about customers that have older devices.
Freezes on load, can’t use
Freezes on load, can’t use. Nobody in the restaurant can figure it out. Tried deleting and reinstalling, same problem.
Not very intuitive at all
Honestly, I’ve only used the app one or two times. It is not intuitive nor easy to navigate. I normally just go in and order from the counter or the Drive. It’s sad because I haven’t rewards to be used.
Rewards not working/false notification

i had over 3000 points in reward. I haven’t used the app in almost a year and then i check it today to see I am at a flat zero. Don’t use this app and don’t eat at whataburger, they don’t care.

Application now seems to continuously use my GPS long after my curbside order.
It’s messed up
I can’t get it fixed. It’s like it’s frozen, but I’ve taken it off. I’ve deleted it. I’ve added it back. It just pulls it down from the cloud it won’t let me delete it and re-enter it.
Where is the sig sauce?
The last two times I ordered a chicken sandwich.. no whataburger sauce! Wth I only get that sandwich for the sauce!!! I even ordered the premium because it said sauce included. Guess I’m going to have to start going somewhere when I want a chicken sandwich

Awfully awful
Constantly freezes on opening the app. Been using the Whataburger app for years, but the past several months have been terrible. I’ve come to the point where I’m no longer going to Whataburger. I just tried once again for giggles and, bam! nada, nothing but frozen screen. Good thing I like Chick Filet.
Notifications won’t clear
Why do I have a red notification bubble on the app but nothing to clear? Annoying. Deleted.
Not great
I place an order and it does not provide actual order updates and when my order is ready? Very antiquated for an app not able to provide order updates and show when the order is ready.
Free kids mail
I received an email saying that I would get a free kids meal. All I had to do was click claim offer. I open the app I clicked claim, but nothing happened. I closed the app and opened it again and still nothing happened. I closed the app and I went back to the email and I tried it again. You offered me something and it was not available to me so I’m dissatisfied.
Reward??
Rewards aren’t showing up. I’m getting emails about new rewards and offers, but they’re nowhere to be found in the app since the update.
Your app doesn’t work
I downloaded the Whataburger app on my new iPhone, and it doesn’t work. It keeps asking for things that I don’t want to provide to Whataburger. I don’t want to receive updates on rewards or anything else. I just want to be able to use the app when I want to place an order like I used to be able to. Whataburger doesn’t need to know my location every second of the day either. I guess I won’t order from Whataburger anymore..
Always Freeze like McDonalds
App is terrible. Works 3-10 times opening. Worse then McDonalds and they are dog water
App unusable
Couldn’t even sign in, sign up, or view anything. Just kept saying “system error occurred”.
Keeps freezing!!!
NOT talking about the shakes!! The app keeps freezing and showing me old offers. So I deleted and reinstalled and now I can’t get past the signing in section a white W just keeps appearing on the screen and never logged me in.
Very glitchy
Randomly freezes and will sit there loading. Checked WiFi and cellular internet with other apps and it is this app that isn’t working correctly. I have restarted the phone and had to restart the app 7 times and still cannot order.

Final 2026 update- take a moment and read through their privacy policy and the terms of service that you have to agree to when using their app…. Even if it was a flawless app (it’s anything but) it still wouldn’t be worth the trade off that it demands from it’s ridiculously wide reaching personal data practices
Updated -the destruction of cones in my eyes is finally put to a stop! If only sooner I’d have known that you can use the standard ios accessibility settings on your device (current ios18) to apply changes individually on a per app basis (found at bottom of main accessibility menu) . Adding the whataburger app and then setting it to use smart invert (Id long ago set dark mode and reduce white point by 25% to apply phone wide for personal preference) makes for a much more comfortable experience especially when you’re a passenger heading late night for yumminess and ordering en route risks potential short term vision issues for all occupants due to the whole one million suns thing……,
The new design of the app for March 2025 is quite offensive to the eyes in not just its harsh piercing tones and lack of dark mode or inverted lighting colors, but it is far more cluttered and chintzy in comparison to the former version….thankfully the food is still awesome

Tried for 15 minutes to check out on this and got constant system errors. Wasn’t even able to check out and we gave up and went through the drive through.

Original: I have hit the unsubscribe option repeatedly after the freakin’ FLOOD of emails began the day I made the mistake of downloading this app, and more just keep coming. There appears to be no way to permanently stop this junk from reappearing - it will stop briefly after every unsub, but then starts right back up. Not worth the hassle, no matter how good the food is. Special offers aren’t worth it, either - just go with the public sales/promotions and don’t let them get your contact info.

Terrible functionality
Absolutely awful login functionality with Facebook login. Embarrassing for such a big company

Notifications
The app keeps showing I have a notification on I’ve tapped on everything in the app and logged off and back on and the notification is still there. It’s annoying and I’m going to delete it.

Pretty buggy
You can’t use leftover gift card amounts towards your next purchase. You have to reload money to your account so you’re just left with funds you can never fully use. Plus rewards they email you don’t transfer to the app when you try to claim them.
Location issues
This app will not let you choose a location away from your current location. I needed to pick up in a different city and it would not let me place the order through the app at the location I needed.
Needs work.
