This used to be a very good option to send money to different countries. No longer the case: both online version and the app have “glitches” and the customer service is very, very poor now - they just copy and paste standard texts without thinking or trying to understand and/or resolve the issues.
So bad now that I cannot even use the money in my account to add to a transfer and have to transfer the “full” amount again because “there are different streams in the system” and they cannot link the money in the “different streams” of the same account in their own system…
Likely not using this platform anymore to our big regret as this used to be a very good option we used extensively.
Update post Wise response: The guidance given in the response is as useless as the ones provided during the chats… unfortunately…

Transfer between your acc only
When using the app, definitely don’t use the description field. And don’t send money to your friends either. Unless, of course, you want to be bombarded with questions that will drain all your energy.

They never stop asking for more information when you try to transfer your own money
There is nobody to contact with issues. When trying to make a transaction with your own money, it will never be easy instantaneous and they never stop asking for more information. However when you deposit money that’s not an issue. That doesn’t mean there are no issues, for there are. It will take 5 business days for the money your bank immediately sent them before it shows up in your wise account. I am moving my money out of there and recommend you stay away.

MY REVIEW STANDS: I followed your instruction and it is wrong. I have to look and look and look just to find my balance. Your reply and instructions are dead wrong! The most difficult part is trying to figure out where to see your balance. I have searched everywhere, and still can’t EASILY find my balance. WHY????
It should not be this hard to find information. Suggestion. ONE BUTTON TO FIND BALANCE is needed. I don’t want want or need to hunt all over just to find my balance. Come on people. Let’s FIX THIS!

I am not sure when the change happened but when your sending money and it’s taking 6 days to send why even offer it as a digital option it’s become so horrible I think I should just close this account because it doesn’t make sense to use
Horrendous Service
This app is about as rough as it gets. My account went negative because there was a fraudulent chargeback and wise notified me saying if I didn’t add money back to my account there would be further action taken. No issue I suppose, except it has to be a bank wire which required a $25 fee on top of the $6 fee to add into the app. Why am I paying $31 extra dollars to payback a bank that allowed a fraudulent charge in the first place. Inexcusable.

Does not work. Money disappears, account details just come up missing never seen something so corrupt. Warning do not use this app. Impossible to send money to the UK.
Very confusing
Of ALL the financial apps I have and use, this is THE Most prohibitive app. I now have money “in the bank app” that I can’t get BACK to my bank account. When I tried a test to withdraw the funds, it just added more money to the Wise app. Freakin insane!

I initiated a dispute 30 days ago and they still have yet to file it. They purposely take weeks to respond and waste my time on purpose. 30 days and the dispute hasn’t even been sent to visas network. Avoid wise at all cost. You’re better off with revolut

I honestly find this to be extremely invasive that i not only had all my personal data pooled the instant i gave my phone number, but as far as my bank default inserted as well! Y’all should NEVER have that access UNTIL I PUT IT IN.

Don’t keep more money than you are comfortable not having access to for extended periods of time and certainly don’t use to send money to friends because if you do they will close your account without warning.
Childish and unprofessional
I have been using Wise for several years. For the most part, the service has worked well, barring a few instances of slow delivery of the money to my recipients. I recently sent three transactions to recipients. I have sent money to many times in the past. All three of those transactions stayed in pending status for days. I called customer service and inquired about the status of these transactions. I was informed by the customer service agent that I would just have to be patient and wait even though it had already been several days without any further explanation. I requested an escalation to investigate and try to complete the delivery of the money.As a result of my complaining, I received notification from wise that my account was being canceled permanently. Wise did refund the money that I was sending, but had closed my account for no other reason than that I had complained. when things are going right, wise was a good service to use. But when there is a glitch that causes a customer to complain, Wise throws a childlike tantrum and just deletes your account permanently. This is business in bad faith lacking professionalism.
My recommendation at this point would be to stay away from Wise.

I make a monthly transfer to my sons Wise account from my bank account. Every time prior the transfer was immediately. This last one I made the transfer on Dec 24 and at that time you took the money from my account immediately but you did not complete the transfer to my son August until today Dec 30. Won’t let me delete account
I was going to use the app but then never ended up using it and have tried to delete my account but the close account button is greyed out even after clicking on any number of reasons why I want to close it. Should not be this difficult to close my account.

If you tell me the money will be transferred in seconds and then when I transfer you say it may take 2 business days, it damages your trustworthiness.

I wanted to close my account due to personal data leaks from a bank that works with Wise, but the option does not work in the app because it freezes even though this functionality is supposed to be available.

Lost its appeal
It used to be banks that ‘lose’ your money for weeks and then Suddenly find it again on very simple transfers. Now you can get it lost for free with wise. ACH takes hardly anytime except with wise and I’m still waiting 9 days lol. What a terrible service. They really should rebrand to Snailwise, it’s a good reflection of the quality of their service. So if you really need it, don’t bother trying wise.

I don’t trust them, I am contacting Interpol tomorrow. The rep wouldn’t tell what country they are out of. I found it’s Estonia,and offices in London and New York, they’ve tied my money up for days. And asked for me to cancel and send the money again. Crooks

Depends on your currency I guess
I was under the impression that wise was super fast and convenient. At first it worked this way for me temporarily living in China and needing to convert and send RMB. Unfortunately the good service has deteriorated. I frequently need to upload a new tax document after every few transfers which is extremely annoying, and then after uploading the document, Wise holds my money for several days…one time it was up to around 10 days without explanation. And then when I contacted them and complained, the money was quickly sent through. So it seems someone is just sitting around not doing their job while customers’ cash is just sitting somewhere in limbo. This is horrible especially when having bills to pay and deadlines to meet. If you don’t have these concerns, Wise is fine for you, but the inconsistency specifically here in China is driving me insane. I can’t speak for other regions and currencies tbf.
