This game absolutely a pay to win and pay to play game.
For two years I would grind and grind with free to play. I would research and try to out smart other players with the best hero combinations. But every time you level up you just keep getting beat. I finally started spending money every month to be able to compete. I spent 100s of dollars on this game and I can still barely compete. And now I had a reward card give me the wrong hero and they won’t take care of me or change the hero. The customer service is just a stupid AI bot. So I’m done.
Bottom line…There is no strategy. Just a mindless time suck. So if you want to spend a lot of money on a grinding game that you just click buttons over and over again this is the game for you.

I’ve played X Hero for over almost 2 years, and I’ve seen exactly where this game goes once you’re invested: straight into a paywall disguised as “competition.”
At the start, the game is genuinely fun. You can compete, progress, and feel like your time matters. But that completely falls apart once server merges happen.
The merge system is fundamentally broken. Instead of balancing players by power or progression, the game throws multiple servers together regardless of massive spending differences.
The result? Players get shoved into lobbies dominated by whales who have spent thousands of dollars.
After my server merged, everything changed overnight. Rankings I worked on for months became meaningless. Events stopped being competitive. There is no strategy or effort that can close the gap when you’re up against players who can simply buy overwhelming power.
This isn’t a rare issue, it’s how the system is designed.
Server merges are meant to “revive activity,” but in reality they destroy fair competition and punish consistent players who didn’t spend heavily.
At that point, the game stops being about skill or progression and becomes purely pay-to-win. If you’re not willing to spend large amounts of money, you will eventually be locked out of meaningful competition.
I don’t mind supporting a game, but this system makes it clear that time investment doesn’t matter-only spending does.
That’s not a competitive game, it’s a monetization trap.

Not as advertised
Downloaded this game because I like puzzles and although there is a small puzzle element to the game that’s not what the game is about. Even so I ended up staying with the game. Got up to level 300 then took a break come back in less than two weeks and my game is s reset now I’m deleting it and won’t go back so in the end thanks just gained my time back.

Why show non-gameplay ads?
The gameplay is non PVP like they show here in the ad. You get to play a long boring campaign where they just keep making you click on the next step, and the only PVP is a boring version of like a final fantasy style match (but with no match-time decisions). It doesn't really classify even as a game, as far as I can tell. It's a clicking exercise with animations?
Like ... why not just make the game actually into the one shown in the ad people are clicking on? 🤷♂️ That's the PVP universe we want to play in (like agar.io).

It crashes all the time and I can’t access support at all. It also crashes when I try to delete my account.

Game is a scam and a fraud
This game is an absolute scam. Their gameplay does not translate properly into English, and because of this you can easily lose all of the stuff you’ve worked months/years to obtain. Their customer service reps can’t even spell common words right, and just change date/time stamps when they feel like it to try and account for bugs in the system. They make excuses instead of solving problems. Don’t play this game. Def don’t pay money. Absolute scam.
Misleading!
Makes you believe that you’re downloading a specific game, but it is a card game in disguise! Not running around a map with various blades and defeating enemies only! They have hidden a card game behind false advertising! Should be removed from App Store!

I’ve been talking to their customer service about an issue that’s been unresolved regarding bugs & glitches for the past 3 weeks & all I get back is the same answer of “we’re looking into it”. They say they prioritize the player experience but in the end, they just want your money. Don’t be fooled

They advertise things in updates then never show the hidden of

Don’t do it.
The game is not bad to actually play but once you get to higher level it becomes a joke you have to spend a bunch of money to get stronger and then it’s still a gamble on actually getting the things you need to grow while everyone else around you grows strong faster. Customer service is a complete joke and absolutely doesn’t care even a little and if they respond it’s maybe once and then they delete the tread with no help at all. Even when you have proof of an error they deny it. Go to a different game and save your money.
Horrible Devs and customer support
Pay to win game, customer support is not helpful at all you just receive general replies like dear commander thanks for bringing this to our attention. Devs don’t care about USA/EA servers. Event schedules are a mess, new hero releases are almost impossible to get for F2P players.

I have been playing the game for months. I spent tons of money buying the upgrades etc… phone had to be replaced. All my data for everything transferred except this game. I had tons of stuff lost everything and it wouldn’t let me back in. It just started over from scratch. I tried contacting support and no help. Like a moron I’ve wasted so much money only to lose everything.

Stay away from this game. Money is power in this game. I spend about $200 a week & it’s still not enough to compete. It’s crazy how much resources you have to purchase to upgrade 1 character & it could take up to a year to build. The drop rate is less than 1% you’ll probably have a better chance at winning the lottery. I WANT A REFUND

The odds of their draws do not match reality, some heroes are nearly impossible to get without spending thousands of dollars. Some of their early servers are dying and they refuse to do anything about it.

Unfortunately the only way to truly compete in this game is to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars. The desired hero’s that make you a strong competitor are not earned. You have to purchase them. The game is suppose to allow you to randomly pull these heroes from the card source are virtually non existent.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this game unless you DON’T want to be competitive or unless you have lots of money to spend on a game.

Big money grab
You will start out having fun but soon realize it’s pay to win. I’ve muddled along for almost 3 years at $15/month and I’m still middle bottom of the pack. Really awesome discord community around the game, but it’s run by frustrated fans like me.

After playing for 3 years it’s evident that the games gatcha rate is not accurate. It’s supposed to 1% for many events and it’s only if you pay do you get the guaranteed drop rate. There as multiple bigs and no one to listen to the community of players on improvement needed. Sad this is a one star review
Random player
Been playing a couple years, the game has its moments for being fun but the developers work at a snail pace and barely add anything. All the money grabs on this game are stupidly expensive so if anything you’re better off just not playing this and finding a different game. I wish they would update regularly, listen to their playerbase more, but nope. They’ll definitely always make sure to send you the links to their website to buy their “red diamond” currency so they don’t have to pay apple (quite ironic)

It’s a 5 stars game, and very addictive. I’m playing for 3 years already. But I have to give 1 star to customer support, because they lately ignoring our frustrations with some game issues, doesn’t listen to veteran advices and seem to care less than in the beginning. We spend money in the game, so we shouldn’t have these kind of issues where we can’t claim a reward fully deserved just because of dumb rules when you change unions. The rewards should be automatically sent by mail. Asked Customer Support for help and basically they are saying that don’t really care if a veteran player will quit playing because of poor customer care.
Premium scammers
Do not spend money in this game. The “top up” “monthly package” and “deluxe monthly” packages are scams. They deliberately mislead you by messaging you to renew packages but when you “activate” them, they do nothing. They give you “subscription privilege” but do not fulfill the rewards. They do this deliberately to scam out out of money. When you contact support they just send you the same message over and over.
