Needs waaaay better filtering mechanism
I don’t want to be hand pick every single video but I want custom filters like to be able to block all 30 seconds videos from the app. Why is this trash even allowed in a kids app???
Fix it
I see that there is a new option in my child’s account. “All” and “approved”… I did not give permission to give my child available videos that are not approved and from foreign countries. YouTube kids has been an on going issues for 4 years.

Please, do not get this app. I am 14, and used to have it because my parents saw that it had a 9-12 setting, and made me use it until I was 12. Now, my little sister uses it, and the kids on there turn her into such a brat! They are not at all education, and when she watches them she is really grumpy and spoiled afterwards. My parents have since banned her from it. When I was 10 I started sneaking watching normal YouTube, and realized that there were so many cool things on there! I mostly watched Mark Rober and Dr. Mike, which, especially Mark Rober, are really good for kids. Whereas on YouTube Kids, nothing is educational, all the videos make kids act like brats with child actors who are probably forced by their parents (e.i. Ryan’s World), and have nothing for that 9-12 year old setting. My recommendation, use the parent controls on actual YouTube. There is a tween setting and a teen setting which my dad uses. It limits my control on using comments and watching bad or spicy content, but allows me to see videos that are not trash.

So why are there inappropriate things? Like there’s this video and it was like avocados and stuff and it said how I met your mom and this girl avocado was in a pool and her bikini. Both parts of it was floating and she was like covering herself so embarrassed, and there was a boy, avocado, and a tomato that had a lot of muscles and they both had hearts in their eyes like what the heck but otherwise I really like it.
