Zengo: Crypto & Bitcoin Wallet

I had paid for a membership through monthly and needed 5$ bc I don’t spend 89$ to retrieve money that’s mine off there app I’ll be loosing my home w 2 daughters this app and the custodial workers are horrible and deserve to loose this business.

I was promised $15 for writing a review and after many months I’ve yet to receive anything. Update: i received an email from the “developer” stating they don’t pay for reviews. That’s funny because I have the original email claiming otherwise.

Have been waiting for good two days I have my Btc on my zengo wallet I can't send it for days and I reported to zengo its been hours and no feedback yet I don't advice using zengo as of this moment

Cant take out my own money without putting in more money to take it out. Disgusting. No help from support, ridiculous app fees. I lost 10$ just putting it in the wallet alone. Disgusting app. Scame. Dont download under any circumstances because everyone who uses this is a scammer, developers of app are desperate to defend themselves in other 1 star reviews to the point of coming off as pretentious. They know what they are doing. I imagine how many clueless people they get with thes fees and confusing app layout with no explanations that arent buried in hours of reading

They have a special wallet address which pops up when ever you copy your wallet address and then they ask you to paste from clipboard Note it’s their unique wallet address “ and then you send to their wallet address instead of your. And then you think you made a mistake. They’re fraud guys

Don’t use this company. There rude, and greedy, Use Gemini or trust wallet. Stay as far from this place as possible

After depositing 23.73 USDT I can’t even withdrawal it to either a fiat currency or transfer it to another crypto wallet. They hold your money hostage and once it’s in it can’t be taken out. This app is a complete scam and most of the reviews on this are probably fake. In order for you to retrieve your fund you have to pay more money. This app is terrible do not use it.

I can’t even buy the crypto I need to have to do what I need to do using the crypto I already have. Also it costs about 9 US dollars to swap $16 in crypto. Rediculous. STAw away. They are just robbing whomever downloads. Also the free trial of the pro does not give you any of the benefits of pro.

I got scammed on this app. They don’t care either if you get scammed. Trust me when I say- DON’T DO IT. Delete!

I would give it -1000 stars if i could. These scammers make you pay for absolutely EVERY transaction you do (buy, sell, trade, swap, send) with MATIC, and the least you can buy is 40$ worth. This becomes a constant headache and you lose more than you win. Absolute WORST crypto app EVER!!!

Payment processors for this app are clearly on a no fly list with standard financial institutions.

Scam don’t waste your time or money on this app. I was waiting to receive funds and was told I had to pay $170 to receive the funds and to send to an activation address. I followed the steps and still didn’t receive my funds. I reached out to Zengo and they told me I’d have to pay an additional $50! Never have I ever had to pay fees to access funds I was receiving! Beware of this scam of an app!

I used the app to buy btc and it screwed me out of my money don’t use the app. Unless you want to wait five hours to receive it.

You never ever give the right amount of Bitcoin after a purchase has been placed and it’s frustrating and theft bks the promised about is never gotten and it makes things complicated

I tried to speak with them that I tried to cancel trail version and it did not they did nothing to help me get charge off my bank and made me wait to deal with it my bank which is process when they could have helped me right away. I tried to cancel again when they tried to charge me $129 and could not cancel it to save my life …. It’s like they wanna charge you and hold your money long as possible!!

No support for New York. The providers don’t support New York meaning if you live in New York you can’t buy bitcoin and no option to send bitcoin to other wallets. MoonPay is the only provider for New York and MoonPay will banned you for no reason

Do not download this app. Horrible wallet. Stick to the main name brand wallets. There is a reason people dont use wallets like this

Absolute trash. Literally the worst app dev I have ever seen, especially for financial software.

I have money in my balance, however, I tried endlessly to send and swap, and I was unsuccessful. I tried contacting customer service, my message was read, but I didn’t receive any reply. I upgraded to PRO, so I will receive a faster reply, and still no answer. My funds are stuck and I have no one to talk to. DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!

I’ve been trying to get my test funds out of this service for almost a year now and outgoing transactions don’t ever get confirmed and don’t ever transfer. Reviews are all fake or paid for I’m sure. Don’t make the mistake.

I have used a lot of apps but never thought i will be a victim of apps which dont let you cancel a transaction.
I sent 7 transactions on 23rd dec and paid 20-35$ each on them.
Its been over 9 days and i still was able to speed up one transaction by paying 90$ more.
and the other one still hasnt completed fornwhich i paid 87$
this is insane. I cant see to get my money out when i need it the most

(1) Can’t see the tx history for a coin, like you can do with Trust Wallet or Coinomi (though I don’t recommend those either, because their tax histories have errors).
(2) The History tab stupidly lumps all the txs for all coins together (unlike, again, Trust Wallet and Coinomi). So it’s impossible to see the tax history for just a specific coin.
(3) No running balance. Good luck trying to reconcile your ledger.
(4) You can’t copy a Receive address until you’ve created a “Recovery Kit”, but of course it doesn’t tell you that, there’s just no feedback when you tap the Copy icon. Took forever for me to figure this one out. (
(5) I sent 1 USDT to Zengo as a test. An iPadOS notification from Zengo says received, but the “My Balance" section still shows 0. Home Screen shows $1 balance, but contradictorily says, ‘You don’t have any tokens yet.” I can get that message to disappear by pulling down to refresh, but then FREQUENTLY when I go back to the Home Screen it’ll falsely say that I don’t have any tokens.
(6) I split my crypto among 5 phones so as not to have all my eggs in one basket. With all other apps this is simple, each device has its own recovery phrase. But Zengo doesn’t do recovery phrases, it uses email, so you’ll need a separate email address for each and every device you want to have a unique wallet on. (7) Swap fees higher than SwapSpace. This is all after using the app for just a few minutes. I’m sure I’ll find more problems once I use it a bit more (such as to send crypto).
(7) Support is likely a pathetic joke. Note that the developer response here has NOTHING to do with the six items I enumerated above. Imagine how attentive they’ll be if you have a problem where you actually require assistance.

Even after cancelling a transaction they took my money and I have not been able to get it back yet. It’s been over a week and still no response on when I will get my money back.

are you sure that your wc2.0 can work correctly ?

It gives a connection error all the time when trying to send BTC. ETH will send fine without error. Can’t find a resolution to sell or send my BTC. Talk to support did not fix my problem.

We unfortunately are in a world where wallet providers NEVER take accountability for anything. Sent some bitcoin to a external wallet.. I paid the higher fee.. it’s been hours and still they aren’t sent. I messaged support who claims it’s not them.. would happen if I sent from any other app or wallet. So I did just that. GUESS WHAT? It’s been sent! And I’m still waiting for ZenGo to sent my bitcoin. I went back and spoke with support who then instead of owning what he said.. decided to get defensive and all that. Save your time and money and go to a different wallet.

My money is stuck here because false disclosure .. Louisiana cant do a transfer , can’t sell coins.. you knew My account when I set it up.. I need my money. Your regional incompetence should be disclosed up front AND your 50 buck minimum to transfer .. you’ll take less than 50 but you won’t release the same amount.. I want my money

So I used this app while mining ETH back in the day. Recently I wanted to diversify my account. So I went to sell my ETH to transfer to my already linked bank account. First they made me transfer my ETH to BTC and charged a fee I guess I can’t sell ETH on their site. Then when I went to withdraw my BTC I was told I had to use the moonpay site and link my bank account through there. No instruction just close this page and link account. So I signed up for moonpay even though I didn’t want to. Clicked around on the site for a few minutes and couldn’t find where to go. I ask ZenGo support for step by step instruction on how to get my money transferred to my bank which has already been linked to their site. And I get this response from Jacabo “please complete linking your bank account from moonpays website”. They didn’t even have the common decency to use capitalization and punctuation in there response.
I ended up transferring my money to Coinbase and am closing my account.

Just downloaded to buy SHIBA INU, not supported in America on this platform……
WOW what an apparent waste of time!

When buying, I was faced with long disputes with my bank because they labeled the transactions as fraud (finding out why later). Once I get past my bank, I’m faced with waiting a minimum of 5hrs for the transaction to process with a transaction limit, so day trading is not an option. Once I wanted to sell, my “daily transaction limit has been exceeded” even though I haven’t added any funds or traded/sold anything else except that one deposit I made. A month later and I STILL am having the same issue, but when I contacted support, the only thing they said was they’re having problems right now and to use another method other than moonpay…..so you’re telling me you’ve been having issues with selling for weeks? That doesn’t sound right to me. And moonpay is the only way to sell, I spent 20 minutes trying to find the other ways but had no avail. Either a dev needs fired or this is a scam. Didn’t deposit much, so they can keep it, I don’t care anymore, I’m just worried this will happen to other people. If I could give a 0 star I would. If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else like Coinbase or something.

The worst support & service of any company I have ever dealt with. Worse than any phone service provider or even airline. I have had better service at the DMV.
In a nutshell: I lost thousands of $ in ETH this year and it’s never been recovered nor was I compensated. Furthermore, it took months of them stalling and obfuscating before I finally got a call scheduled. They refuse to provide documentation to show they were not directly responsible, nor could they fix the issue or reimburse me. They did, however, offered me a lousy $350 if I would agree to signing a statement absolving them of any responsibility.
My nightmare: After weeks of back and forth w/ chat support, on 3/24/22, I finally got the matter escalated to Gal, Director of Business Operations, who did not grasp the issue, or was pretending she did not, to avoid any responsibility. I explained the situation in detail to Gal: In Dec 21, I purchased ETH through their app using Banxa. They advertise their app as an easy-to-use wallet that is tied to a user's phone and Zengo maintains the walletAfter purchasing a new iPhone 13, in Feb of this year. when I tried to open my ZenGo app on the new phone I was prompted to verify my email address and then….
• I was prompted to set up faceID
• Then I received prompt telling me specifically that my email was associated with an existing acct that was backed up.
• I then got error that the file could not be found on iCloud drive and to try another cloud service
• I checked my iCloud and the folder was there. It is still there as of today. However, somehow the contents of the folder were empty.
• I never touched that folder in iCloud, I did not sync it with another service, I did not perform any maintenance to my cloud acct, none of that occurred.
• I spoke to Apple who confirmed that backing up my phone, any phone or device does not make any changes to the iCloud and that all backed up versions of a device are kept in another location.
I implored Gal to set up a call with an engineer who might better understand the issue, and/or provide me with logs that show me how and when their service updated that folder, or any logs directly related to my wallet/private key. What I got was another canned answer that did not apply to my circumstances.
This was in late March, it was not until June that I finally got to talk to Gal and an engineer on a call, but they refused to provide me any of the activity and response logs associated with my account. Or any evidence that could prove they were not responsible for my hosed folder. The only thing they were willing to provide were their new terms which coincidentally changed since this whole debacle began and of course absolved them of any responsibility. They also offered me $350 bucks to go away and agree to never share my story. Which as evidenced by this review, I declined.
Avoid this company. Do not trust your hard-earned money with them. Ultimately, their whole business model is a scam, and in the end, you are better off just maintaining your own wallet and dealing with an American based company, so at the very least, if you get screwed like me, you may have some recourse through your states or the fed.
In reply to Zengo's response on another app review site and likely here in due time:
"ZenGo does not have control of users funds or any of the key factors required to restore fully an account. It is critical that you maintain your email, cloud(s) and face scan in order to access the wallet."
My reply: I never stated you controlled my $, but that you are responsible for deleting the contents of my folder AKA my private key and that your company's claims of ease of use and security are highly exaggerated and in my case categorically false. I never touched or emptied the folder on my cloud, I believe your company somehow emptied the folder due to bug or defect, and your company has refused to provide any records that prove otherwise.
"We also provide additional protection with 2 more clouds in case you delete by mistake your icloud which can happen."
My Reply: That is a new policy because my account only had one cloud back up. When was this 2 cloud policy implemented?
"If what you described was common ZenGo would have no reason to operate."
My reply: Hence my review and my point entirely and why I am telling people to avoid your app at all costs. Again when was the new 2 cloud back up policy implemented and (hmmmm) why?
"Finally, for security reasons we cannot provide support via public channels and we suggest you contact our team to clear this out as soon as possible."
My Response: You have my real name. Gal should have my emails and chats on this matter. Balls in your court, I have wasted enough time AND MONEY!

Does it really matter where the obstacle is?

Dropbox and google drive are banned in some countries, it’s difficult to perform Zengo multiple recovery files backup and legacy transfer activation, Microsoft OneDrive or self hosted NAS drives should be considered,and end to end encrypted cloud storage like Sync.com should also be considered for more secure backup

When attempting to make a purchase Zengo recommends Moonpay. (I will research the relationship). If the transaction fails it is recommended you contact your bank or credit card company. I get this suggestion if you have insufficient funds. But not in my case. The bank will not process any crypto transactions. Then why does Zengo say it takes Apple Pay if it fails. I suggested to Zengo support that it’s a reputation issue with Moonpay but they pointed me back to the bank. I also requested a refund for the pro version of the app. But again ask someone else.

Only used it for about a week. Majority of the time when I attempt to make transfers to my exchanges or other wallets get errors and have to reboot phone or reinstall app.

I purchased the Zengo app in hopes that seeing how the service was very responsive, and it appeared to have listed itself as being an effective cold wallet for crypto, but as I soon came to learn after purchasing the products to the pro version that the banking side of it is extremely limited and questionable and be all the support still stands to be very responsive. The number of crypto coins it can manage is extremely small unlimited and for the cost it’s not sustainable. I don’t see the value of It. I don’t recommend buying this product, especially for the cost of $129 a year I think that that is excessive for what it’s supposed to be able to do and they don’t seem to be announcing any kind of initiatives or advancements towards expanding its capabilities.

We only give the best account security to those willing to pay a monthly fee. How many banks do the same?

Actually i just got this app zengo download so I don’t no why it not working on my phone pls i need a help

it used to show your balance and how it’s went up or down. now it only shows the market price of the token. super disappointed there’s not an option to change it back. when i learn how to stake crypto without Zengo i’ll be leaving the app.
