The good: Zillow is pretty adept at giving you the ability to search an area
The bad and the ugly: if you are maintaining a saved search with parameters for homes that you might be interested in, prepare yourself for fake notifications purporting to be updates to that list. There’s nothing more annoying than having a red marker for a saved search and then coming in to find that nothing has changed. It’s a pretty handy way for Zillow to generate activity, but it’s getting tedious enough where I’ve asked my realtor to do it directly for me in flex MLS. Since she has done that, I only get notifications when something has actually happened.
Additionally, since many homes no longer have a price history chart, Zillow isn’t a very good tool to use for monitoring of market dynamics over time.
Finally, functionality for the Zillow Apple TV app is near nonexistent and that app was the only reason why we’re using Zillow instead of realtor.com or Homes.com

After I have submitted my application for a new rentals. Not one contacted me back and an accurate info. in some apartments. Not sure if the app can verify the info uploaded. professionally speaking poorly job

What a joke this app isn’t any better than Realtor.com same issues either they’re listing houses with people still living in there, you’re having these mobile homes listed for 2030 4050+ thousands of dollars with a lot of pet restrictions and I feel to see why that shouldn’t even be because how are you gonna pay a lot of money even for homes in a certain community and you’re told you cannot have certain animals how many people could have how many vehicles I specifically say that I want no HOA because I’m not paying money for a place that I own and you’re telling me what I can and cannot do. And when I tell them, I’m a cash buyer they must mean foreign currency because if I have the money, why are you not calling me back? Why am I chasing you for a phone call? Why am I chasing you for a tour of any place? And then it’s also having other realtors put me onto places that I can’t afford and then tell me I don’t want this and what I do like shut the hell up who are you to tell me what I do and do not want. I feel like they should take off these apps and everyone that’s posted these things to try to scam people out of money. There should be a serious consequence mto that because this is pathetic. So far only the southern states actually work and do their job and respond.
THE LITERAL WORST. SCAM.
Do yourself a favor, and don’t apply to ANYTHING on here. They will 100% take your money, for homes that are ALREADY off the market without even telling you and then never refund it. They’re scammers on an amazingly large scale.
Block accounts for no stated reasons
They block your account for no started reason and it’s almost impossible to reach the customer support team. All my time critical rental application got blocked and I missed out on the potential placed to live.

We probably all know by now that the powers that be at Zillow decided it was somehow necessary to prevent people(who didn’t actually have their home listed for sale), from adding updated photos to their home’s “page”. NOW, if you’ve had updated photos of your home, which may have been added in the last few years, they’ve been taken away. A representative from Zillow claimed that there was nothing they could do, and that this was how their site is now formatted. UNACCEPTABLE
No commute filter, no thank you
Without the commute filter this app is useless to me. I’ll go elsewhere if I want to scroll back and forth between a real estate app and a housing app.
Can’t View Saved Homes
I can almost never view my saves. Whenever I try to look at saves the app asks me sign even though I already am. Super frustrating.
They force an agent on you
I’m a buyer trying to purchase a home without an agent to save money as prices are already extremely high in my area. Zillow forced an agent on me with my requesting one. Now he is tied to me and I can’t tour without one.

Square footage incorrect
Only the main and upstairs levels square footage is shown, but it should include the basement as well. I cannot seem to get this corrected. Need help.

Downhill
Zillow used to be a great source to look at houses and understand the market. This is NOT the case anymore, they seemed to have stopped listing the price the houses sold at. Without the information of what the house actually sold for you cannot know market value. I no longer use Zillow because of this. Realtor.com is better about actually listing the sale price. I recommend using them.
No filter for Active w/ Contingency
75% of the houses I look at are actually contingent and listed as “active with contingency” and you can’t filter them out, making this app useless and a waste of time. I’ve switched to Redfin and other apps because of this stupid feature.
Suspended Rental Account??
Used this app to rent for 2 years with no issues. A couple of weeks before my landlord tries to renew the lease Zillow suspends my account. What for? Because they claim my fiance has a dispute over a charge from the last landlord in Nov. 2024. Claims he made the dispute Feb. 2026 for that charge. But yet suspends my account that pays the rent in our new place that we have been at since June 2025. Makes no sense!!!! Especially since there isn’t a dispute. Would give no stars and be cautious. Even my current landlord is tired of the horrible customer service.
You have my house in the wrong place. My realtor and myself have asked for you to fix this issue

Zillow Deleted our Photos.
I’ve been a big fan of Zillow through the years. Not anymore. We built a brand new home 6 years ago. Once done the builder gave us photos, which I promptly uploaded to Zillow and updated all the descriptions to match the build.
Fast forward to today. Zillow deleted all our photos! They replaced them with photos of an old, ugly house that was torn down 10 years ago. They won’t let me upload current photos anymore either. They said they only use MLS photos now, even if they’re 10 years outdated.
How misleading on their part. People can’t tell what they’re looking at anymore. That’s why I used Zillow in the first place. Now it can’t be trusted.

What loads faster
Every thing . Every house I go to look at the pictures won’t load . As I am writing this I am waiting for pictures to load . I watch tv and movies no problem but can’t load a dozen pictures .
Not usable for applications

I am requesting a refund of the fees I paid for Zillow Rental Applications.
I purchased Zillow’s application and screening service with the understanding that it would allow me to submit a reusable application, credit report, and background screening to prospective landlords. However, every property I have applied to has declined to accept the Zillow application and screening reports and has instead required me to complete separate applications and pay additional screening or administrative fees through their own systems.
As a result, I have been unable to receive the intended benefit of the service I purchased. Despite maintaining a Zillow application and screening report, I have repeatedly been required to incur duplicate application costs because the participating landlords would not accept Zillow’s reports.
Given these circumstances, I respectfully request a refund of the fees paid for the Zillow Rental Application service.
I would appreciate your review of my account and a response regarding available refund options.

Annoying update
I’m going out of my way to write this review. Just to let the developers know that the update they made, that makes it impossible to click out of the thumbnail of the house while searching an area on the map. You used to be able to have the map cover the whole phone screen, now what ever previous house you clicked, remains on the bottom of the screen till you click another. I’ve tried clicking an area where there is no houses to get it to go away and it no longer works. Fix it!

I am a seller and the information about my home keeps changing. The number of views and saves keeps decreasing. I’m not sure how the number of views can decrease over time? I feel like this inaccurate feature puts my home sale at a disadvantage. I do not recommend this website for your listing.

One useful, now worthless
This app once made my life easier as both a tenant and a landlord as well as a home buyer. Now I don’t know what happened but everything that worked well sucks. I had favorite homes; they’ve disappeared. The home I own? It can’t be found. And now I have to use a separate and even worse Zillow app to show a property as available for rent and it won’t port my photos and info from the main Zillow app. I’ll be looking elsewhere.
Bring back old app
This new app is missing so much information! I wish I never updated. Where is sales and tax history? None of the demographics, lot size ect. This is just basic info now. Major downgrade

Makes me “log in” EVERY TIME I open app
Until today, every time I open the Zillow app, it opened just fine. NOW, when I open the app, it requires that I login all over again. It will not accept my facial recognition, and when I enter my password, it tells me it is “wrong” requiring me to reset my password. So after resetting my password, which it claimed was successfully updated, I go to Login again, and it states the password is wrong. And it does not allow me to use my facial recognition, that all my other apps use and I also just updated the Zillow app THIS IS RIDICULOUS and I AM REMOVING THE APP FROM MY PHONE. I will just access Zillow through my laptop computer.
Terrible Upgrade
New upgrade puts an annoying banner to schedule a tour over each photo you try to view. Incredible way to remove the joy from house hunting. These geniuses who voted to include this have absolutely zero concern for user experience. I’ve used Zillow for over a decade now but will be switching apps to avoid this extremely inconvenient feature.

Early June 2026 Update Poorly done
A user creates searches or many searches and then goes through the list of properties. In this update every time you close a property you are looking at goes back to the search list that you created, but it RESETs to the first item in that search… then you have to scroll down to figure out where you stopped reviewing properties

This app will take out your battery in 30 minutes. Other apps like it do not.
Notifications broken
For the past few updates, the app no longer notifies me of new listings. Not my phone’s issue-definitely the app. Have deleted/redownloaded, toggled notifications (both email and push) on/off, deleted searches and recreated them, no luck. Must manually check each of my searches on an ongoing basis. And on top of that, the most recent update displays results far worse than before-I don’t need a map to take up half the screen when I open my search results, just please list out my results and let me select “map view” if I so choose. Really thought this app couldn’t get any worse, but every update you break it further. Can’t wait to be down house searching so I can delete this trash.
The Color Overlays are Anxiety Inducing
There are now orange and purple overlays on the map and I hate them. I don’t know their purpose and cannot figure out how to turn them off. They make the map look too busy and overwhelming.
Updated app doesn’t work
Constantly requires me to hold and wait the human verification. Cannot search anything before the screen pops up again. Now the app is worthless.
