Doesn't support my browser (Edge) apparently, but what's the point of having an app in the first place if you have to use your browser? Completely defeats the object.
An "app" that doesn't work without having a specific browser installed. Useless.

Either it's too busy to work or simply will not work. Completely useless
Using android 15 and Firefox 149 it tells me to use the latest version of Firefox which is 149 . It won't even try to log in.

Absolute 💩. i seem to have a million IDs and No Passwords. FFS I just want to register self employed to record the money i earned while a temporary sole trader before becoming employed again. Making tax simple? don't make me laugh, i cant even login or register thanks to an ID i have no record of. Well this is my proof I tried to register for self assessment. its a good job theres no tax to pay, no wonder the country is struggling to fulfil basic services.
cant see my tax code and had to re do the login again as I couldn't open the hmrc app
this app is a joke
Hasn't worked for a couple of months. Error trying to login saying 'we're very busy right now.' Your an app, not the failed phoneline that's impossible to speak to anyone within an hour.

Disappointed that you're entirely blocked from using this app if you happen to have chosen a browser other than Chrome, Firefox or Samsung. Inconsistent witu other UK GOV apps (e.g. NHS app) which do allow these.
what happened? was really good, now I can never get access, it's always "busy".
End of financial tax year and the app continues to tell me it's busy, check back in 5 minutes.
awful app, logs you out when trying to make payment. I have tried to pay twice and both times logged out before payment is complete.

this is an app which tells you it's too busy to work half of the time. Are there people running the app on pedal bikes?
Not worth having, it just sends you to login to the government website whenever you need to do something. Might as well just go straight to the website.
poor typically poor. the bloody thing is just a holding app. nothing that's disputed through it is processed. still end up in the phone nightmare that is the bloody inland revenues version of "service". even worse it drops through to gateway and asks you for codes via the app which you can't use cause it's accessing the gateway. what a waste of time and money

Can't access the app "your browser is not supported". It seems only a very small selection of browsers, none with strong privacy functions, are supported.

I thought apps work 24/7 what other app says "we are really busy call back in 5 minutes" when I re-enter my details I get the same message. just rubbish and typical from HMRC, Also it's a one way app. 'No reply' should be stopped.
Absolutely horrendous app. always says come back in 5 minutes, we are currently busy. Doesn't matter what time of the day I try to use the service. Correction its not currently providing a service. We are all very busy and can do without having to come back in 5 mins!!! Sort this rubbish out.
the estimate is ridiculoysly wrong and its completely wrong for 2022/23 as well as I paid tax but only earnt coming up for £400 in the whole year

The worst app I've ever used. It's overly complicated and I've spent the last hour trying to get into my account. Awful stuff. Updated for 2026, it's got even worse.
changed phones, now can't log on, can't contact anybody to help, I'm just locked out constantly because my details don't match! why is there no support and Im hoping there is no digit ID as we are screwed!

Can not access to my accounts
Unusable! I had an existing Gateway number which I can't remember. After having spent lots of time getting my ID verified it emailed me a new Gateway number but whenever I try to access this app it keeps asking for an old Gateway number. COMPLETE RUBBISH!!!
impossible to login. useless
I had to change my phone including my mobile telephone number. since then I have been locked out of all Governmental apps, as the only acceptable way to confirm my identity is by inputting a code sent to a number to which I no longer have access to. This despite you holding my unchanged email and fingerprint information. The apps actually inform you that you have been locked out and there is nothing that can be done unless you can reaccess your original phone number. 🤔🤬
Got locked out of the app. The helpline was no use at all.
