More of a toy than a proper training tool. If you need some structure to get you off the couch, then go for it. If you're an experienced athlete, know that they don't let you train to HR zones Customer support was slow to respond to questions and not particularly helpful. Took me several days to work out that this was a lost cause.
there are only 2 genders. How can you plan a workout for a tranz person?
this one star is purely for the fact that this app somehow has no connection with wearos watches. otherwise I like the app very much. just get a galaxy watch app out already so that I can give you a yearly subscription.
good
You have to pay to use the workout feature. If I wanted a tracker I'd use my fitness app on my watch which IS free
Cookie Cutter plans in the age of AI
It is very hard to log in
They only connect to apple watch, not Galaxy watch or android. they said 2+ years ago they were going to add this as a feature and still have not. They say you need to download two other apps to sync it manually with runna and I'm 100% not doing that. It's annoying they shove the annual subscription in your face before letting you know you have to have your phone on you while running to use the app which I do not.
pro: + good for lazy/busy people who don't have time to create a plan cons: -Plans don't automatically adjust - AI text feedback is useless as it doesn't use any data points or sets goals - doesn't take into consideration the fitness level based on inputs nor actuals. e.g. it misses stride length, BMI/body weight and similar metrics that are useful to have in consideration. - No AI or smart plan and you could get a better plan in place using free AI tool and feed it with data.
you cant define your own workouts. we are yet to find an android/wear os app which is half as good as garmin connect.
First asks all your info, then makes you pay. Really didn't like the fact that I had to waste 10 minutes setting everything up before finding out that there is no free option. in addition I imagine they are keeping all my data now and I didn't even tried the app.
Really enjoyed this app until it suddenly stopped working. Have sent emails asking for help but haven't heard back from them. Crashes on opening every time.
not worth
This app is garbage. I have the paid version, and it can’t track my runs even close to accurately, which makes the coaching features worthless. How can it help improve my running if it doesn’t know my pace or distance? It’s been off by miles on a 3-mile run, even with the “optimized” settings that drain battery. The only way it gets close is leaving my screen on and unlocked the whole run. It also won’t connect to Samsung or Apple Watch. Tell folks in your running groups it's a waste of money.
the app was acceptable but recently. the things I tolerated. alerts you that you finished half the work out too early. doesn't allow you to use other apps while doing your warm up it will not alert you with to start running. Now it's unusable. to do recommend as of June 2026.
Switching from a free app to a monthly $19.99 subscription for new runners who just want to start 5K running is a significant expense.
paid app
only free for a week. You need subs to access ur plan
no map
The most inaccurate GPS app I have ever used. It literally created its own fictional routes right through areas where there isn't even a road! The pace tracking is completely off as well. If I could give half a star, I would. Highly disappointed
literally haven't opened (or used) the app yet and it's asking me to review it with pop-ups.
Terrible since the latest updates. pacing way off, telling me I ran 1k in 1min 30. if I wasn't half way through a traing plan I'd be getting rid. don't waste your money.
It look cool but sadly im 15 and they dont support people who below 18 which is sad i saw an event on strava and i wanna thy this out but maybe 3 years later i might come back
very bad experience.... very slow to open. data lost.. in emergency it's not working properly.
have to pay for premium to see any workouts beyond week one 🫤
the app is good but too slow. I struggle to use it when I need it and save my runs.
Does not support samsung galaxy watches
This app is shady and unreliable, don't subscribe.
No native support for wear os watches
Impossible to login with Google or Strava, I don't know how they can't even get the basics right.
If I run without using runna it doesn't detect I've done a run, it doesn't modulate the plan, it's a fixed rigid plan. I shouldn't have a set workout for a set day, that's not how anyone should be training, they should have aims for week and chose the correct run for them on a day based on what they feel capable of.
doesn't work on my device.
I used to use runna for all my half marathon races last year (2025) but as of 2026 they put the main purpose of the app which is creating a training plan behind a pay wall. What's the point of only giving the 1st week of the plan and the rest you have to subscribe to. if I wanted to track my runs I just have used Strava. the whole purpose of runna is not there for free uses
Pricey and laggy. The plan doesn't adapt to past activity - I ended up having to adjust the pace manually in settings.
Tried twice, got stuck trying to generate the plan. So never was able to use it. Also the plans are very limited in flexibility. I wanted a longer timeframe as I'm coming back from a long term illness, but the maximum is 16 weeks.
wanted to use this app to help me train for the army fitness test. doesn't support training for a two mile run so unfortunately as far as my situation is concerned this app is useless to me
Edited, after Runna asked for more info from my review emailed it was ignored.... The app works, laid out great, plans are the problem. first marathon, running 4x a week felt strong increasing my running. Got an injury, 3 weeks out, start back light, could pause my plan but not go back had to start a new plan weeks back from injury, it kept telling me I had missed training since I didn't start right at the beginning. anyhow app predicted 3:57-4:07hrs finished in 5:06 ....
The app has a user-friendly interface. I encountered some issues when attempting to rearrange my plan after an injury. I also cannot recommend this based on the price; it feels too expensive for what it offers. Perhaps incorporating AI-powered reevaluation of runs could make it more worth the cost. At this point, it appears to be essentially a plan organized as a calendar, which can be synced to your watch., I already did, and basically told nothing can be done and had to wait it out
among the worst UX I have ever experienced
not easy to unsubscribe. costs $119. automatically gets your credit card information. I was afraid of downloading it and now I am stuck trying to unsubscribe.
Too Expensive. Can't do anything without premium basically. will not be continuing subscription.
Fine for absolute beginners, but totally underestimates your training plan based on current pace, and doesn't allow you to set a goal or try and push it up a little. If you pay monthly it hides your plan beyond 4 weeks, so you can't see if it'll actually get you to the level you want in them for your race. Aop is nice and intuitive and it gives different run options, but completely useless if you're an intermediate runner trying to improve your level.
need a Wear OS app
soooo laggy and slow on android. Mine is not a flagship phone, but since the app is a relatively light app, I can't see why you still can't optimize it.... My phone can still runs 3D games just fine.
the idea & the approach seem good but the app didn't work properly on my phone. I would like to emphasize that my phone is good enough to run nearly any application & games. It is the first time an app made my phone overheat and then didn't even let me terminate, got completely stuck in running.
"Personalised" is a generous word for what's clearly generated from a bank of plans/work outs. Linked to Strava but still had to link each activity to the planned workout. No way to tell the system if you had to modify the workout, e.g. shorter warm up/cool down in favour of completing speed session reps, so the "insights" just give you rubbish criticism. Clunky and difficult to reschedule runs or amend a plan to replace a workout session with a planned race. Cancelling in trial period.
app can be very slow to load/re fresh.
If your a new runner beware. I personally hate this app. Firstly it is clunky, underdeveloped, and doesn't get a thorough baseline of where your starting. I downloaded this app to start running as I am on a weight loss journey. before this I was doing light running and I heavily emphasize light. This started me at a 4.7 on treadmill which is almost a sprint I did the first workout and was dizzy, I ended up vomiting. not beginner friendly. They need better baseline questions do not recommend.
Was not helpful in my return to running after surgery. Maybe good for new runners. Not a good fit for me.
How come Runna does not work with Samsung ? I love the app, but won't sub as it does not work with my galaxy watch.
