Terrible
I have been a busycal software user since the week after it was initially released. It was initially great for the first couple of years, but it has deteriorated beyond recognition. If you’re smart, buy something else.
All Data Lost After 18.7 Update
Lost all data on iPhone 13 after 18.7 update - iPhone 16e & iPad Pro are OK. I’m a paid customer! I’m running latest update on BusyCal.

This has been my go to calendar app for years and in the past few days, it seems to have imploded. There is no info about how on Monday, it only crashed, yesterday it wouldn’t keep any of my settings, and today it’s totally glitched out. I am super frustrated. And yet, each of these days, there has been an update to download without any mention of problems they are fixing.

Badge icon error
I was enjoying the app until the last update; after which the overdue task under badge icon stopped working. Please fix it so i can give a full review.
Can't add events to a calendar app.
Unless I am misunderstanding something I am now under the impression this app isnt a calendar that can be used like a planner. Instead it hooks into other real calendar applications to output all that information into one location. It's bewildering I cannot use this app without the need to give it a source from another app. I saw a response from the developer on another review saying that the user needed to connect to their icloud account instead of the default calendar app as the default app is read only. Okay well why can i not read and write directly to BusyCal without the integration of a third party. If I am wrong I will gladly correct this stance.
New update messed up simple use
The new update will not let me hold down phone numbers in the note section to send a text… And now will not open up addresses in Google maps only Apple Maps… This is a huge convenience and probably will be looking for another Calendar app to pay for or that is free. I used to love this app before this update came into effect.
Inconvenient and invisible
Extremely inconvenient calendar, disappointed. The interface is poorly organized, even the smallest text is half hidden - nothing is visible. The application is significantly inferior to competitors
Can’t Edit Event
I really like the layout of this app, except for one thing which is critical, once you make an event, you cannot edit it. There is no option to edit an event. When you click on the three dots in the upper right corner, there is no edit option and clicking on the event itself does not offer an option to edit. This makes it unusable.
Unusable
I paid for this app up front for a year after hearing all the good reviews. It doesn’t even allow me to add anything to the calendar claiming there’s no calendar to sort tasks? No response from their support team either. Went back to using the Apple calendar. At least it’s free.
Holiday Calendar has disappeared
Has been a great calendar for iPad and iPhone, but Holidays have disappeared and there doesn’t seem to be any way to bring them back or to subscribe to an external Holiday calendar anymore.. used to be easy, now nonexistent
Where did subscribed calendars go?!
App is awesome but the recent update crashed my & everyone at my office calendars. There is no way to back in and add the subscribed calendar link.
Not friendly to use
Can’t sync phone and Mac together paid for both app I’m canceling it today
Don’t bother
Cannot use outlook with this app. The “workaround” of using apple calendars is garbage. Waste of money
No Microsoft Personal account support anymore
We have been a paying customer for years. We use to love this app, we have seen lots of progress with features over time. Until now, they haven’t kept up changing times. Microsoft has been warning about security changes for a long time and after lots of warning they forced their hand. Now BusyCal will not sync with any personal Microsoft or Hotmail accounts, only the enterprise Microsoft accounts.
We are being forced to switch Fantastical app, after no luck with customer support to find a feasible fix or workaround. They are not having the issues syncing those Microsoft accounts.

Google task needs fixed
Cannot use google task and have rolling reminders. This is a deal breaker.
Double purchase - annoying
Main reason for such a low rating is because seems super sus to me - So my Mac only has a subscription plan to purchase and then iPhone has a 9.99 payment option- but one is titled calendar and reminders and the other is titled calendar and tasks- are these not the same app? What’s the point of the subscription and the one time payment? Seems sus to me

Sync with Apple Calendars does not work
I really want to like the app. It looks nice and works for the most part. But for me, the ability to sync with the local calendars that are set up in iOS is vital; my employer does not allow to add my email/calendar account to third-party apps, only to iOS directly.
Although the developer added this option to BusyCal, it does not work correctly: new and deleted events work as expected, but when I change an existing event, then this change is never reflected in BusyCal. The only way to make a changed event show up correctly again is to remove Apple calendars and re-add them again within BusyCal. This is not a feasible workaround. I really hope that this can be fixed and improved soon.
