Probably the worst editing app
Non of the functions work as intended.
Horribly disappointment
Spend hours editing a video only for the app to constantly crash when exporting … and have NO way of exporting all the work you did. It’s shocking how Meta is behind such a glitchy app. Stick to the other editing apps…
It’s been great until…
This app was amazing. It replaced any video editor I was using. The biggest draw back that I’ve had and has made me uninstall was the fact that the app was taking 20GB of storage, no drafts, no videos in my storage, nothing. I don’t get why an app needs to take that much space when it has no files saved. If there’s a work around this please let me know but other wise I’ll probably just stick with in app editing and deal with having less perks.

Nothing but problems
Spent too much time making something that didn't work couldn't export nada. Wasted.

Baffling this still isn’t fixed. I know I’m not the only one with this issue, comments and message boards are full of it. I know I’m on an older phone (iPhone X) but not fixing this essential functionality for all devices is just lazy. Unusable. Still have to use the in-insta editor.
Bad experience
My insta got suspended but it recovered but my edits app won’t login and everytime says net error even though my internet is best

Continuous Glitches with Sound
I have loved using edits for the last few months for my reels. Everything saves really nicely, and it’s SO simple compared to other apps. However, recently I have noticed a HUGE dip in quality. My sound in my drafts will cut out at random spots, with no way to fix it. Updates have come, and I’ve cleared cache and nothing fixes it. I’m attempting to work on brand partnerships, with a deadline, and unfortunately may have to go back to CapCut because this is unacceptable.
My project was gone and didn’t show up on drafts or unfinish project!
I started using this app when it was offered on IG. I am very much happy at first but in the last two days (April 26-27, 2026) my edited project just went gone though I tried to save it as drafts to continue editing it the next day. I started noticing it 4/26/2026 when I edited my video clips for about 15mins and decided I’ll resume later cos I run out of time and needs to return to my work. Upon checking at night, it breaks my peaceful mind and heart that it wasn’t save in my drafts or projects.
4/27/2026 I decided to redo everything. My video is 30mins and wanted to shorten it to 3-5mins. but Im doing multiple clip effects and crops and text animation. When I’m close to getting done, I didn’t exported it yet cos I wanna replay everything first before doing the export. Since I saw I needed to edit some parts of my video for a better output, I save it again and exited the app and decided to resume later. Just when I’m so confident it was save on drafts, I’ve seen nothing. Like I never edited any clips. It was totally gone like WTH!

Really sucks. Always has connection issues and scheduling problems
Doesn’t even let me log In
It won’t even let me log in it keeps saying please check internet connection and I’ve disconnected and even unplugged my router also I’ve restarted my device and it says the same issue. I tried tech support but that didn’t even help so I don’t know what to do and now have to resort to CapCut which you have to pay for most of it.
Video not editing or exporting
Spent a couple hours editing a video, only to have it, not editable or exportable for some odd reason…
What is happening
It tells me to log in with my insatgram account and I did but it doesn’t work can you make it so we just have to log in bye phone number?

My videos won’t export and when i adjust the audio to one clip it glitches and removes audio from everything and i can’t get it back unless i re start
This made me so mad
Was just trying to edit a simple video and this app messed up so much, first I couldn’t play the video, had to constantly change the fps between 30 and 60 just to be able to play it back in the editor. Then while adding footage using my camera, the entire time line got messed up (it usually adds it to the beginning and I move it to the end, that time all text and stickers got moved but nothing else). And while it was messed up like the text not showing when it should then showing when it shouldn’t, I deleted the text because it was messed up and it got stuck to the videoo, there’s now a random word in my video I can’t remove (trying to fix that rn) the amount of times I almost rage quit is insane.
Just let us use IG
If it actually worked seamlessly with IG, but that’d be nice, but 50% of the time I have to back out and restart the whole edit process. Once I move a video from edits to IG, I then cannot edit my cover photo for the reel. It also now takes longer to post.
USER BEWARE META WILL DELETE ALL YOUR WORK
The app works great, but have one problem with meta or your account gets hacked mass reported, or their automated just glitches (like they said in my case) you lose all the work you had stored on their app, no appeal no help no way to get it back... BEWARE if you use the app always back up,

Audio options are messy
I understand the legality of keeping certain audio to certain links however, since it’s such an important part of reels and short videos, they should have premade templates. As well as updated checks to make sure the Audio is available. To spend time on editing a reel with a certain audio file to keep it Instagram legal, just to try to upload it to Instagram itself and then have Instagram say that it is ‘no longer available’ is a bit messy
lag fest
idk why this exists, they force you to use it too when editing in app which is insane. We dont want to open a whole new app to use the same feature and wait twice as long to upload. Makes 0 sense, plus it lags like crazy and this just created dozens of new story glitches. I dont get it but some features r cool, dont force it on people. Let us edit on the app again by choice

Constantly losing work
It will constantly just delete or corrupt certain parts of a project or video. Pretty often too, always have to plan for it

Frankly editing with Instagram is just as good or better in most cases

Three months worth of work just disappeared
Glitchy and unreliable
The audio is pixelated during editing, but clear (hopefully) once uploaded. And it deletes entire libraries of work over night. I woke up to 100 projects lost this morning, disappointed in meta team for allowing such a unreliable product. DO NOT USE.

Having trouble editing
Every time I stop and pause to make edits and press play again, the video starts again in a different spot than where I lined it up to be. It makes it extremely difficult and annoying to edit!!! I have to close out of the project and reopen it to “reset” the video

Wtf
Okay every time i am editing i go to click the undo button and it deletes the past 20 mins of work….. it doesn’t undo the one thing i want it to it literally deletes ALL THAT I WAS DOING…. Where is the auto save feature cause the app quit on me and also undid the last hour of work…. I don’t wanna be editing the same thing over and over again …. What the heck… please please please fix this bug
Bugs in app after video downloading
Once the video is edited it is posting or downloading the video getting before edited version
Cuts off music
So annoyed with this app. I spend an hour or so editing a 1 minute reel only for IG to remove my music for not reason! And I posted the reel on IG so there was no reason to remove the music!!
Overheating and draining battery
Battery drains fast and phone is so hot it asked me to stop recording

This app is super buggy. Continues to have issue with black frames upon export no matter what i do to optimize. Get it together guys
Glitchs sooo much
When this app first came out it was a lifesavers but now it glitches and is so slow needs to load everything and then freezes mid edit
