You’re playing against either bots or opponents that’s waaaay above your team no in between. The matching system isn’t designed based on player’s skill levels or ranking, it’s literally designed to put players in a frustrating loop of losing then win a few games then losing streak again to keep “User Elasticity”. Think of this matchmaking system as cyber gambling cause every time you press that match bottom you’re gambling away your sanity.
Only play this game if u want free skins. Otherwise don’t play Ranked, it’s rigged.
This is a place for free skins. Not ranked games. At first it will be easy (of course). As soon as you are in a high rank, the game will make u lose twice more than what u win. In my experience, I won 4 games, then I lost 5 games after winning. The I won 1, then lost 3. And also, even if u play well, it will still give u an unfair rating. I recommend ML. It’s easier to rank up in ranked but not much free skins. If u focus on gameplay and competitiveness play ML. If u just want free skins from different collabs just play HoK.
PS: Developers of HoK, if u don’t want people to stop playing ur game cuz of unfair systems (as u can see in other reviews), pls fix or it will be your downfall.

Matchmaking Bots
I’ve contacted customer service again and again and again. They have one response and it’s “We see that you are a good player but you should report these players (they do nothing about it when you do), look up tutorials (which I do all the time), and use signal (which I do). So why do you RESPOND THIS WAY WHEN YOUR MATCHMAKING IS SO BAD?! BLAMING THE PLAYER WHEN ITS YOU WHO PUT US IN THIS SITUATION?! I had a mage who didn’t help, fed, and walked in circles at base and we GET PUNISHED AND LOSE A STAR BECAUSE OUR TEAMMATES REFUSE TO COOPERATE?! HE GOT PENALIZED BUT SO DID WE BECAUSE THE GAME WAS 4 vs 5 instead of 5 vs 5. Explain this to me and then you have THE AUDACITY TO SAY USE SIGNALS AND REPORT PLAYERS THAT YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF MAKING IT RIGHT?!

经常匹配水平差距非常大的队友，玩一百局只有五局左右才能匹配到实力相当的队友和对手，游戏体验总的来说，体验非常差。
制裁机制也是太假了，故意不打团、送人头、摆烂的举报不了，打前排正常死亡还没别人送人头的多，这也被举报成功，太没意思了。
给一颗星是，游戏福利还行，但是对战游戏，没有对战乐趣。

The characters in this game are really good, and the gameplay is great too,
But there are way too many bugs in the game, the network sucks, movement is super laggy, and area management is terrible. If someone who's been playing for ages gets matched up with you in the same match, that's totally unfair! The gameplay is a bit repetitive. I don't just want to keep fighting - I'd like some other social interactions

A terrible game
This game is absolute trash, with a matchmaking system so stupid it’s baffling. Every single teammate plays like a mindless AI, just running around and flailing aimlessly. I honestly hope the person who designed this game's matchmaking system lives to see the day their entire family quietly leaves this world.
The downfall
I have played game since release and it has gone way downhill the pairing in particular is a bunch of trios vs soloq or high rankers on enemy team with noobs on your team it like the devs are no longer trying balance the game and it’s such a disappointment their more concerned about your money then actually balancing the game some characters are bad as heck while others are overpowered permanent banned I’ve reach skill level to where that part doesn’t matter to much it’s more about your lobbying with other players it’s a real disappointment at this point and as a player who’s almost vip10 meaning I’ve spent enough to buy a great running car you would expect better then queuing up 20 times and not losing 16/20 games do better cuz your losing your player base and once we’re gone that’s it won’t matter the collabs cuz we will have left their are other similar games out here and as much as I’d prefer this game I’m okay with ditching it if it means better queuing in and even skill level pairing

Matchmaking in HoK is terrible. When playing solo, I keep getting very noob teammates who play like zombies. It’s extremely frustrating and makes me angry. They should fix this because games get ruined due to teammates, and I keep losing rank points.
At least program your Ai players to play properly
How can anyone rank up if this money hungry company continuously purchases bots. They just don’t want anyone to win, it’s not even about winning too much or losing too much. The AI players that the game adds are horrible as well. Instead of putting so much money into the AI players you add, or you’ll soon lose all of them. This game does not even care about your race, I saw a review that believed that because she was a Black American, she received horrible teammates because the game was made in China. Honestly I couldn’t believe that the person who made the review was being genuine. That person has mental issues, the game will place any with horrible teammates, that girl is an idiot for thinking so, I believe that she may be underaged or has a few mental problems because no one else would say that.

Matchmaking is rubbish
I love MOBA style games, even better if it's available as a mobile game. Unfortunately, HOK quality of matchmaking has gone down dramatically. It's normal of you have one or two players go afk. Confirmed after the match and you are still penalized with losing stars. Which makes it impossible to progress once you hit Grandmaster rank. It's a shame...

You have to use certain super strong heros if you want to win. Balancing among heros is astonishingly bad. I was a serious player and I gave up. They just want you to spend money on buying avatars for new heros which they made super strong against the other s. Game heros settings are also not synchronized with hok in china. Too buggy and unfair gaming experience. I would have given it a zero star if possible. Leave hok asap! Best advice!

The game is utterly ridiculous since everything is all about hit and dash. All it needs is a good gank thats all - no skill play and sometimes they vaporize you just because you are attacked by 2 guys. I think Mobile Legends is still far better than this trash and mind you - this game is just ripping apart from MLBB

Unfortunately. I’ve dropped the game. I find that it’s just not fun to play. It lags constantly, players play poorly and the spending system is super predatory. Rank is hard enough as it is, simply because the lack of players and the lack of strategy amongst players. 90% bots and the rest you sort of just😒 don’t like. I will not continue to play.

Horrible matchups
The devs must have hired by scrapping the bottom of the barrel for these morons who came up with the matching algorithm. Wait until you get into Grandmaster level and watch the magic begin. You will win 1 x match and then will be paired with bots or players who perform like the lowest beginner levels. This will last about 8-10 matches then you will suddenly dominate a match only to lose another 8-10 matches. This game could be great but the pairing of players does not level out and the games will be completely one sided. The devs obviously have hired college drop outs who couldn’t code a a garage door opener. This has become just pathetic and almost sad and depressing to watch. Too many great games have succumbed to less than mediocre devs. I don’t mind paying if the game is good, but these sorry excuse for talent devs should be paying us to keep playing this side show freak of a game. If you want to be competitive, get 4 of your friends and play together. If not, you will see what I mean and be stuck in the endless loop of whatever garbage coding was done. The task must have been to write a code to take a great game and make it suck. Go back to school devs, your below level performance could be outmatched by a toddler.

Serious Complaint: Severe Matchmaking Imbalance and Unfair Ranking Experience
I have always been a fan of this game, however I could feel a sudden change in the matching algorithm and general atmosphere in the game. During last year my overall winning rate is about 66% this year my winning rate sharply dropped to 53%(i only play a few heroes that I am very sophisticated with) , this year I almost get used to jungler who could kill 0 enemies but just keep feeding, and many other teammates who are just like animals in the enemy jungle, what is wrong with this game. Maybe people are losing more generally, and matching with terrible players more often, people more frequently exchange bad words and the atmosphere is terrible, please change the matching algorithm, or this game will just be deleted
