Disappointed
I never got the notification that my free trial was up and I was a day late and had to pay for a year subscription and I can’t afford it. I just had surgery and have another one in a couple weeks and I just wish I would have gotten the notification to cancel before my free trial was up.
WASTE OF MONEY! Poor developers
Multiple times throughout the year it’ll just stop working and give you a blank screen and error out and close. Can’t even open the damn app. I’m tired of this happening MULTIPLE TIMES for YEARS.
Doesn’t work if I can’t even open the app - finally canceled my subscription. Don’t waste your money!

Not free
you got through all these questions about goals etc and after about 5-10 minutes of answering questions they tell you you have to pay for a subscription.
Installed a unremovable widget into my phone
This app is way too expensive for what it is. An hourly text for as much as they charge for subscription is insane. I got rid of my free trial almost immediately and deleted the app. However, the app somehow changed my settings and installed a non removable alarm that goes off several times a day. When clicking this notification it doesn’t take me to any app or provide any history of it existing. It is a standalone ongoing ghost notification from this app. I am being haunted by this stupid decision to try this app out. Now woken up overnight by this randomly and cannot remove in anyway. Yall suck
Billed as $47.99
I wished it would be billed ‘$3.99/month’ like it says but it’s billed at ‘once a year for $47.99.’ Why is the monthly amount even listed. People can overlook that an end up paying an amount they couldn’t afford. Do you reverse their charges if asked?? It’s very deceptive.
$3.99/monthly, billed yearly $47.99
$3.99/monthly, billed yearly $47.99
Alarm Function
There’s no where in the app to turn off the alarm, or even just change it. And I mean alarm, not reminders. It goes off just like your clock app. But you can’t adjust the time, or stop the notification. I deleted the app because of this and it’s still going off. Every day. The app support site doesn’t help and doesn’t provide a way to contact them. Google search only showed that I’m not the only one.
Unsubscribe
When I tried to unsubscribe from the app, it would not let me. The app start trying to charge my card for the annual fee and now I can’t even download apps because this app that I don’t use anymore, is still trying to take money.
The reminder alarm will not stop!!!
Even after deleting the app!!!!
Don’t set an alarm unless you want to deal with it forever
Can’t get rid of daily alarm. Deleted and redownloaded but no luck. So annoying
Alarms
Won’t stop giving me alarms that say start practice even after I delete the app
Ok
Too expensive
Just assume it’s the same as every other self help app and you won’t be disappointed
Couple days on a free trial then they want a hundred dollar payment payment to keep using it.
Problem with notifications
I cancelled my subscription and removed the App from my phone but am still getting some reminders. I’ve contacted App support but haven’t heard from anyone yet.
I finally heard back but the response was to use a tool they emailed to check my phone. I’m not comfortable with downloading an analytics tool to search my entire phone. Still waiting for resolution from them, alarm still randomly goes off.
Update April 2026: I heard back and was sent a link to cancel the alarm and the link does not work. I’ve emailed again. Be very careful when setting an alarm with the app for notifications.

Still getting daily notifications
UPDATE 4/13/26: after months of trying to silence these alarms after deleting the app, I found that lots of people are having success reinstalling the app, turning off notifications and then deleting it again. I just did that, and was charged 15.99. Nowhere did it say I’d be charged anything, much less 15.99. I will attempt to refute that charge, and here’s hoping that I can get these ridiculous alarms to stop.
***
I deleted the app and am still getting daily notifications. How do I stop them? Would prefer to not have them show up every day at 12:03. Have seen other comments on Reddit about this so I know it’s an issue.

Subscription misleading
I signed up for the 3 day trial to test out the app before signing up. I had selected what I thought was the monthly option - showing ‘$3.99 per month’ but ended up getting charged for the entire year. I also was never notified prior to my trial ending like others.
I contacted Apple for a refund and since I didn’t screenshot at the time (because I didn’t anticipate any problems), I was rejected.
Misleading app and false advertising. Do not recommend.

Cancelled the subscription but it’s still trying to charge me everyday. FIX IT!
5:00am alarm going off
I downloaded this app and was unhappy with it, so I deleted it. Since then, it’s set a 5am alarm off on my phone every Saturday and Sunday and I can’t get it turned off. DO NOT download this app!!
Promising, but no. More than disappointed. It’s a Scam.
I was in a few therapy sessions that mentioned this app when I learned about it. They made it sound great, and each therapist recommended it to me, so I gave it a try. Was not impressed in the slightest, and the therapists weren’t happy when I told them about it either.
The biggest concern I have is this: Self Advertisement out the WAZOO! The app lets you pick ONE theme for your widget in a limited selection. You don’t know it yet, but that is the ONLY ONE you get to use. You get to use only that one theme the entire time. If you try to select any other themes, including the beginning ones, they immediately slap you with a “try our free trial for THREE DAYS!” I quickly found out that no matter where you tapped elsewhere, that was an immediate pop up.
The main part of the app, or the screen I could access, allows you to flip through affirmations to read. The thing you’re here for, and guaranteed to have in everything the app advertises. Every. Single. Swipe. Was and ADVERTISEMENT.

Listen! App Development team. You have a great project in the making here, but if I wanted to read advertisements instead of affirmations, I would have asked for that kind of app. Hell, I would have turned on the radio or walked into New York Square. But I am not here to be constantly reminded that I’m too poor to buy simple tools for mental health. I’m here for mental health.
As someone who is struggling, and really did like what the app promised and had wanted something like that for a while, I find this insulting that you don’t even let us experience the basic function of the app before shoving your subscription details down our throats. If we really like the app, and we have the funds, you bet your boots we’ll donate and pay for more. But we are here for something a little fancier and practical than the next “affirmations for me” Google search. Seriously. I found myself much happier there then on the first five minutes of this app.
Also. Smaller note in this paragraph here.
The opening “get to know you” questionnaire was cute, but I had to close and reopen the app to go back a space multiple times, and that caused me to redo the entire thing multiple times. Since the app is basing affirmations off of YOU and YOUR needs, they really need to add a back button, especially when the selection is a click and done so fast you can’t see what you pressed, and there’s a skip button in the corner. Minor disagreement, very small complaint compared to what is obviously the rest, but tolerable.
TO THE READER:
If you’re honestly looking for help that is affordable and ready for you, with affirmations or more, I do NOT recommend this app. The fact they claim they track your search history and other identifiers of yours on their advertisement page (4/10/2026) is concerning enough. But they’re not just tracking you. They’re making it a statement that it’s a cash grab rather than a tool. Yes, it’s an app, but it’s no longer about your mental health or their cause.
If you want an honest opinion on where to turn next, I suggest the Finch Self Care app instead. It has affirmations, reflections, breathing exercises, soundscapes, and more that are FREE. All things this app could provide just as easily and still get the funds to keep it afloat. Yes, Finch has subscriptions you can choose to use, BUT EVERY BASE FUNCTION YOU WANT IS AVAILABLE TO YOU 24/7. The most trouble I’ve had for not having a subscription in this app was not being able to change the colors of my goals and being able to get some of the special rewards for doing a good job. Look it up if you’re still searching. I won’t place further free advertisement here.
Summary?:
1) I Am app needs to take down all its self promotions that pop up at every swipe, tap, and turn.
2) They need to open up even a fraction of the customizations and features it promises on its main page. If you’re going to let us pick from some of those options originally, and promise we can change them later, make that the truth!
3) I Am app needs to extend the free trial beyond three days. Three days isn’t going to show enough of a major difference to give someone a fair evaluation on whether this is helping or hurting them (both financially and mentally, which tie into each other heavily. Keep this in mind folks).
Clearly, this app used to be or could have been something special and helpful. I LIKED the feeling of the app in BETWEEN the insistently rapid ads. But now? No way. Not picking this app up again. I’ll stick to Finch. A hassle that lasted me 10 minutes just to get through the first few questions and finding out what’s even available lasted five seconds in actual usage.
Have a good day, people. And take care of yourselves.

Stupid 10:31 alarm haunting me
I downloaded this app at night, and deleted it becauses of the alarm automatically set at 10:31. It still went off every single night after the app was deleted. I then proceeded to delete my clock app, and check the settings. It still goes off every night. Now, I'm stuck with an affirmation practice that I can't even start BECAUSE THE DUMB APP IS GONE. I AM NOT SMART I AM NOT LOVED AND I HATE YOU LET ME REST IN PEACE. REMOVE THIS STUPID MALWARE AND GO FIX URSELF YOU DEGENERATES
Too many streak notifications
I keep getting notifications for “you can start your streak again.” “Start a new streak.” “Last chance for your streak.” I get 5 notifications a day just about streak alone. It’s annoying. There’s no option to only get certain notifications. All I want is the affirmations without paying for a subscription. It’s not a hard thing to ask for
I loved it but it alarmed at 2:56am everyday
I turned off every alarm and reminder (though I had just got the app and so there weren’t any) but app would go off at 2:56am. I made it a week lol cause I felt like I was just stupid and couldn’t figure out how to turn it off, but after asking a few people and the settings being pretty simple and clear… I realized I can’t turn it off. And I don’t want to keep waking up at 2:56am ( what’s funny is the alarm for the app didn’t have much of a logo on it and I can’t see well at 2:56am so it took my a minute to figure out what app was causing it)
Nice concept, but the alarm is a problem
I loved this app at first, how aspects of it are free. It’s a wholesome concept.
However I’ve been dealing with an issue of an alarm from this app on my phone, even after I changed settings and uninstalled it. There wasn’t a mention of this in the app itself so I’m disappointed by this.

Would be cool if it would work
I couldn’t even get signed in with my Gmail to use the app, there were so many run arounds and I got to a point where I was just wasting time trying to get the app to connect and work.
Weird images
I searched xxx for my wallpaper bc I was going to do xxxtention for my wallpaper and it was showing weird pictures like girls in weird clothes and thibgs like that. Please remove those

Update…Great app But…
I am getting tired of the swear words. Every other word on most of the things that pop up is the “F” word. They aren’t necessary and they are getting way too frequent. There’s no way to block them, it’s just too much.
