I think most people are downloading this app for what the app refers to as “Magic Hour” filters: basically, they simulate different lighting conditions. What they don’t say is that to use these filters, you need Magic Tokens. Do they come with a paid subscription? Who knows. They don’t make that part clear at all, and they hope you just pay the subscription without questioning it. Gross.

What happened?!
I used to LOVE this app! It did all I wanted (and needed) a photo app to do. However, that is no longer the case. With all the updates and changes and supposed features developers have tried to cram into the app, the feature I use the most, the backdrop feature, used to manipulate the background no longer works with any regularity. I am ready to cancel my subscription and stop using the app altogether. I don’t even care that I’m paid through November of this year. Unless someone can provide some guidance on how to use this feature again, I’m done. Like DONE done.

They steal your money unknowingly, CANT be refunded and then have nothing special to their app. Everything is so basic and boring and it’s constantly glitching. App sucks.

This app everything is you have to pay. At this point just block the entire app and make people pay before downloading it because what is the point of it being free to download but nothing is free in the app?

Ever since the update with this program, all I ever does is crash now I can’t even edit my photos

Find a better photo editor
Waste of time and money. I paid for the month and find the options useless. It takes you through 3 steps where you can change the size of the photo (useless), it auto adjusts lighting, give you the option to AI remove things but the iPhone editor is 10x better. Everything I tried to remove was blurry and unrealistic. Then it gives you 2010 instagram filters to put on your photo. Canceling my subscription. ASAP
SCAM APP
I cancelled my subscription very soon after downloading this app as it did not do the functions as advertised. They continue to charge my card and are ignoring all correspondence showing proof of cancellation. They are very sneaky and do not bill you via Apple, even if you sign up for the app through Apple, making it impossible to request a refund through the normal Apple methods. This is a scam of a company. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOIR CC NUMBER UNLESS YOU WANT MONEY WITHDRAWN CONTINUOUSLY WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT!
They steal from you
They advertise a trial period but you are charged immediately. I canceled within hours and was charged for a year. They have paddle.com to help you try to resolve the issue and it sends you in circles. Do not download. Do not click anything!

They provided a new bug update, yet it still keeps crashing while editing photos.
Missing effects
I have a paid subscription to this and recently they updated the app and now because of the new AI feature, some of the old effects that I was able to apply, like cartoon and line drawings, have disappeared I really enjoyed adding the cartoon feature to some of the pictures before the AI feature came into place.
Not saving videos
Will not let me export my videos again. Reoccurring issue with this app.

Subscription nonsense
Filled to the brim is AI-generated “help”, and only lets you save one photo per day unless you pay $20 per month to do something a dozen other apps do for free. Don’t let this app scam you of your dollars.
It literally does nothing
Signed up and tried everything it had, feature wise, and sadly it actually ruined my pictures. Went on YouTube and found videos that show you how to actually do this. Faster, cheaper, and better. Don’t waste your time or money. To the people who made this I apologize but maybe make more worth it. Pictures of nature need to be more vibrant in your face at times and keep shadows in other times. Your app does neither. It did not brighten it, actually, it darkened my pics without the option to make it brighter. All the things it offered to do it did them horribly. Again, just one man’s opinion who will NOT be using this app.

Ruined with the update
They just ruined this app with the updates… they dummed down the features… removed the ability to highlight individual objects… this is no better than iPhone editing or IG editing now… immediate cancellation… don’t waste your money!!
Enough with the updates
Used to be an insane editing app with all the regular base + color editing with cool filters, effects to add in. Genuinely a good editing app. Tell me why I see less and less features throughout the updates, it was a beautiful app - revert back the last few updates

When I originally bought this Lensa App, it was expensive but did everything I wanted/needed but over the years each upgrade added functionality that I absolutely NEVER use .. and these recent couple of upgrades they added more unwanted functionality AND REMOVED THE MAIN GOOD FUNCTIONALITY that I used all the time - so I CANCELLED this app

I Hate The Update
I used to live this app and it was my go to for all my editing needs. This recent update removed every reason for me to love this app. Every editing feature that set it apart from other apps is gone. I am deleting and will never recommend this app to anyone. If I could leave negative stats I would.

Updates are ruining the app
I’ve been paying for this app for a couple years and have loved it up until recent updates. It’s getting more complicated and confusing with each update. So many filters have been taken away including one I was using for every Instagram picture I posted, so that was a bummer. Also can’t replicate the editing you just did onto a different photo like before? Unless it’s just getting so overly complicated that I can’t figure it out now. If it doesn’t go back to how it was before I’m more than likely going to unsubscribe and delete this app.
Bring back user controls/options
I just purchased the yearly subscription for Lensa about a 1-2 weeks ago after having evaluated a few other similar alternatives. Now there's been a major version released just last week that's changed or removed quite a few features/options/etc.
Per the two sentences in the release notes, the changes are intended to make the app more "user-friendly" and "streamlined" but I'm not entirely sold on the direction the developers are headed with this update to say the least. Feels like the app has been dumbed down significantly to make it more user-friendly for even the most tech illiterate users out there. I'm not against making the app more accessible but these changes went too far in terms of sacrificing functionality/settings/user control-trying to edit photos with this update currently feels awkward & slightly frustrating.
The devs really need to take a hard look at what's made this app great (400k+ reviews wasn't for nothin') and find a balance between improving usability & maintaining the more advanced functionality/options for experienced users.

I’ve been using this app for years and loved it so much until they updated it and took away so many of the best features that made it different from other apps. Any update since September has completely ruined the app and I don’t want to use it anymore. Please revert back to the way it was, otherwise I’m going to have to find a new one. I’m so disappointed. Why would you try to fix what wasn’t even broken? Like, I’m actually mad about this.

Only AI will enhance your photos and you have zero control of the outcome. Plus, why ask if I am a man or woman? If AI can’t tell, then there is something gravely wrong

Every time I go to generate the photos from magic avatar it just kicks me back to the generate page. It isn’t working

AI Critical error
Every time I went to edit a photo on my iPhone 16 running IOS 26.1 I would get a critical error message and have to close the app. I stopped the trial, stopped the subscription, and uninstalled the app.
Can’t save to photos
The app corrected photo nicely but when I went to save photo, there is no listing for “save to photos”. Don’t get it, you advertise “photo editor” but you can’t save the work you do.. ridiculous. Delete.
FIX THE GLITCHES!!!!!
Ive been a PAYING customer for years and for the last SEVERAL months I cannot use the “export audio from video” option. Its about to make me cancel my subscription and go back to another app. Fix this bug PLEASE!!! This has been my favorite editor app for a long time until this happened. Very disappointing

Bad experience
I was totally confused with the payment. First the app offers a 7day free trial. Which I agreed to, after logging in they show message “We are sorry you go, pay $19.99 only for a year”. I agree to that. And they charge me $19.99 and no 7day free trial anymore. What is that nonsense? The money is ok, but the avatars the app creates are absolutely different from my face!!! It’s another person and I do not see myself in the edited photos.
This app is unusable right now
I love the new magic AI and it was nice while it was working, but now it just keeps force closing. I even deleted all the data I had stored in the app for nothing because it still keeps force closing.
Not Happening
So far I am unable to fix any photo how I’d like to. Don’t think this app is for me.
New Updated Layout is HORRIBLE
I used to love this app. The developers ruined it with its latest overhaul. I won’t be renewing my subscription.
Changed completely and cancelled
I lived this app then it took away my favorite functions like the Details tab. So many of the ways to edit a photo are gone. They are too much about AI and adding backgrounds and effects. I just want to edit photo. Cancelled sadly as I loved this app for a while.
