Your Microsoft program is quite stupid and difficult to use. There is no save button. There is no way to sort things out into a particular folder. And labels at the top of the page don’t seem to make a whole lot of sense you’ve made things very difficult for where they were 15 years ago. Microsoft sucks.

Word is diabolically awful, the editor feature simply doesn’t work, like it literally changes words spelt right to a wrong spelling, and god forbid you try to get it to edit your grammar, the majority of the time it’s just wrong. The app randomly teleports me to random spots in my doc, and frequently deletes random words or sentences. It also crashes at least once every time I use it. I have used it on 4 different unrelated devices on multiple different WiFi/data networks. It’s an awful program, I’d rather use Google Docs, which is also pretty damn annoying so do with that what you will I guess…
Garbage
This program is antiquated garbage made worse only by the fact that I don’t even own a program that I purchase anymore. I have to pay a stupid subscription fee to be able to access my work documents outside of my work season. As soon as I find an alternative, I will switch to that never use a Microsoft product again.

Editing is a disaster on iPhone
Editing and selecting text on iPhone is virtually impossible. The default autosave setting then preserves bad edits automatically. The keyboard layout for editing consumes way too much display real estate leaving almost nothing of the document to view, and the selection handles are impossible to move properly. In short, typical of the mediocre software I've come to expect from the monopoly known as Microsoft.
Bugs.
Scrolling and using a keyboard sometimes causes the app to rapidly scroll to the end of the paper. There are numerous bugs and a lack of real features when it comes to basic stuff like page numbering (even only pages, custom page numbers, etc). This app is clearly not designed for power users anymore and will likely be supplanted by a better app in the next 5 years with the advent of GenAI. The product management team is not properly motivated to maintain the market lead on iPad.
Word needs to improve its multi-person collaborations
It’s pretty bad for this app when it goes to multi-person collaboration. I hope Microsoft will invest into it, but didn’t see it happening

I think it’s bs whoever owns ChatGPT would take away the free option without a trial screw like everybody else you know just screw us like everybody else is

Your files will be hostage
Buyer beware! If you lapse on your subscription, you are in big trouble. You can only open your files. You cannot even copy content of the files. They are hostage until you renew subscription. So dishonest and shameful for a huge company.
Doesn't follow accessibility settings
I can't read the tiny text despite correctly setting the accessibility on iPhone to large text. All other apps work fine but this one is a complete failure.

These programs have become impossible to use. They’re all over the place. Horrible.

It doesn’t save the process and deletes all the work that you did, imagine writing an essay for hours then Word just deletes your work just because, I’m sick of this app, it happens all the time.
Word for iPad is Atrocious
The functionality of this product on iPad is near zero. It has no where near the intuitive capacity as on MacBook. If I didn’t need it, I wouldn’t use it. Microsoft should be embarrassed if they’re not. Garbage.

I find that what use to be single step for printing etc. now takes 2 or 3 or more steps. It is not an easy program.
Keeps signing me out
Of course I love Word. I’m paying for it. But my frustration is how many times I get logged out and keep getting asked to buy the product. The product I have and am paying for. Sometimes it won’t log me in and I have to close the program to try, try again. It’s like your date from last night answering the phone and asking, “So wait… Who’s this?”
