Greedy Money Grab
So I can’t connect or chat with anyone without paying for it? That makes absolutely no sense. There are extra things that you can pay for, but having to pay to actually talk to someone basically makes the app inaccessible if you’re not able to pay for the premium. It was very greedy and very disappointing. So don’t get this app unless you have the money to pay, otherwise you’re just going to be swiping aimlessly and having people like you without being able to actually chat with them or see Hinge is so much better, user friendly and you can actually meet people without having to pay. Taimi is a good second option.

Not one real person
Ridiculous. I am not sure how you find a real person on here, and I really don’t understand why someone would take the time to make fake accounts. Yawn. Looking at population stats and moving to a town with your demographic is no doubt a better option than this.

There are a lot of fake profiles. And I can’t view any pic, even mine. Pls fix the bug issues.
Deceptive Paywall
Most features are a bait and switch where you make an investment and then they withdraw everything behind paid access. Super misleading.
Glitchy
Yeah, often says that you have a message and you really don’t or you don’t have a message and you really do. When I write a message and send it the text is not disappear from the draft box. It’s annoying because I have to leave my whole message. I can write a new one. It shows my profile to people that I am not interested in. I clearly marked it as dealbreaker. All of these problems are happening with premium. Subscription save your money and just use the free version.
It’s pointless
I sent messages to around 30 - 50 women and never got a response. The app gives no indication of when someone was last online. It could be they get flooded with so many messages that they just haven’t gotten to me yet. Either way I’m just in limbo. It’s easier to just approach women IRL.

Can’t verify number, support has been 0 help.
For whatever reason when trying to make an account it just will not accept my phone number. I’ve tried contacting support and they waisted my time for like a week and wasn’t any help, their out come what that they just wouldn’t help me. Since then, I decided to just give up, thinking that a little time might be all that’s needed for it to just work itself out since support was either too lazy to actually do their job or they genuinely just couldn’t do anything. It’s been a few weeks and today I tried again, having the same exact issue. I’ve had an account before using the same exact number I have now but had deleted it due to just not finding anyone I felt would be a good match with me, so I have no clue why I’m having this issue now. Either fix the number thing or let people sign up with their email alone if you’re going to cheap out on support by hiring people too lazy to do their job or if the company really isn’t giving their team what they need to do their job. This is such bs.
Pointless
Probably the worst site to get anything done. With the fake accounts and people from other countries pretending they’re in the us just to waste your time. Give out your number just to have someone from India pretend they’re have your nudes and wanna release them when you didn’t send any out

Because I reported Tinder app, I was also banned by Hinge and now the other Match Group App OKCupid as well.

Full of bots and fake profiles, by not verifying your users you are wasting your user time

No warning no reason. You just get banned. And that’s final according to them. Even if you ask for an explanation or the reason why. No room for appeal.
Manipulated algorithm
Stay away from this app. If you know who owns this Match Group, and what they do with their algorithms, you’ll be shocked. They keep showing women from a certain “country” to make these monsters cutie pie. FP!!!
Littered with Fake Profiles
UPDATED 4-22-2026 this app has literally been inundated with thousands of fake profiles within the last 24 hours! It’s a joke, it’s so obvious to see these fake profiles where all the people look like they are models and yet Match Group does nothing about this! I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR THE PAST 12 MONTHS OR MORE THAT I HAVE PAID FOR THIS APP. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
I’m disappointed with how Match Group (OkCupid’s parent company) handles fake profiles on this app. With today’s basic AI and verification tools, it’s not difficult to detect and remove obvious bots and scam accounts - yet they remain widespread.
As someone who’s used online dating since the early days (back when personals were text-only on Prodigy, CompuServe, and AOL), I understand “buyer beware.” But when a single company owns many of the major dating platforms and is clearly aware of the fake-profile problem, continuing to charge $40/month without addressing it feels irresponsible.
The result is a poor user experience filled with unrealistic, recycled “model” photos tied to small-town locations, a pattern that’s easy to spot and erodes trust in the platform.
Until Match Group takes meaningful action to clean up fake profiles, I can’t recommend OkCupid or their other dating apps. Either invest in real moderation and verification, or don’t charge premium prices for a compromised service.

Horrible
Bad customer support. Was banned an hour after setting up my account for no reason, they said it was an error and un banned me but still…
Not to mention they wouldn’t even tell me that much till I kept asking what the problem was. It was also unclear it was a ban in the first place, just kicked out of my account and getting an error when i tried to log back in. Only figured out it was a ban when I contacted customer support and they said they couldn’t help me and I needed to apply for a ban appeal.

Fake profile
The amount of fake profiles on this , is insane. Nor does this app care for people to actually meet and make genuine connections. This app will make you feel more alone than ever, and have you feeling worst than you were before joining. This app focuses on making no connections, and only connected to fake accounts, that you’ll never meet. Ultimately giving the end impression which is you aren’t good enough in life and would rather end it all instead of move forward with actual people and choose life.
No real people.
There’s no women on here. Every account is so obviously fake. You can swipe on 6 accounts in a row and they all have the same images of a single lady. If you do get any matches they all instantly start having a conversation with themselves lol. I woke up today with 9 messages but all 9 were robots flirting with themselves. Try any other app.
Total scam
Paid for their stupid premium subscription and the next day my account completely vanished for no reason. Didn’t log out or break any rules and I wasn’t inactive. Seemingly kicked off the platform for no reason after ONE DAY of use. Ridiculous.

Don’t waste your time and money with this app. It’s a total scam and it’s overpriced for what they’re offering anyways. Bumble and Hinge are preferable.

Bad site management, bad people on there
Biggest problem with this app is all the men on there are pervs. I get the most amount of unwanted sexual messages and frankly weirdos then any other site. And on top of that, on cell phones the report button doesn’t work. You can’t send in reports.

The only thjng not behind a paywall on this app is the app icon. I get to see nothing and no one to justify even paying for it. I mean, you don’t even get a sample of anything. Lame af.
Won’t let me log in
Can’t even log in, had the app for years little to no problem. But then somewhere around January I can’t log in. It’s April now still can’t login, can’t make a new profile because mine is in use. I request a code and it tells me the code is invalid. I message support and get no response

used to be valid, is now a scam
this app used to relatively decent. i used it a few years ago, and even though i had to go through many bots and inactive accounts, i eventually found a real person and we hit it off and even dated for a few months. i have retried this app twice since then and it has been worse each time. more bots, more accounts that are dead and have been dead for a long time without being hidden or deleted, and higher prices for premium. oh and toooons of oversea accounts. if you're using the free version of the app, you won't match with anyone but slowly you'll start to get these hidden likes. it will be advertised to you that you can reveal your hidden likes for a whooping 50 dollars. if you take that bait, and your likes are revealed, you will realize that all the people that liked you are either bots or people living 2000 miles from you that are probably also bots, or people paid to have accounts and send out likes. you will not have success on this app, sorry. this review is written by 6 different guys by the way. save yourself, stay away.
Horrid
Haven’t been on this app in ages and for good reason. The vast majority of people here are just straight up weird, don’t want to actually engage or they aren’t from my relative location.
Dumb design
Paid for premium, and they notify you have like 40 “likes” when irl, 99% of them are just people that have viewed your profile and decided NOT to like you, the other 1% of people are actual likes. Oh, and if you have any issues with the app- probably don’t. Match group has ZERO actual customer service, all of their apps are maintained majorly by AI.

I'm a very attractive man and do not need to be on these apps , but no activity came from this app at all. The algorithm is all off. And I don't even think this app was made for people to meet up.

Ok Cupid secretly handed over data on 3 million users to a company called Clarify that builds facial recognition software and wasn’t even fined for it. They were just told not to do it again. Do you think that will stop them from leaking your data?
Continues to Decline
OkCupid continues to remove good features, making it worse and worse over time. You used to be able to send messages to anyone, view multiple profiles instead of one at a time as they're handed to you, see everyone you've liked, see any messages people sent you, etc. When answering questions, you used to be able to say your answer, what were acceptable answers from a potential partner (could be very different, or at least more inclusive), and offer a small write up to qualify your answer (MANY of the questions can be read in multiple ways, or the answers more rigid than reality). None of that exists today. OkCupid is objectively worse than it used to be. There are now advertisements littered into the one-at-a-time profiles you're allowed to see. What a waste of time.
Selling your data to AI
Okcupid has sold millions of users data including photos for facial recognition to Clarify an AI company. Delete your profile and app. It’s not like you were meeting anyone on here anyways.
