The concept of the game is great and there can be fun moments initially once you realize there are such things as legendary cards decks that you can build you realize that you need to spend hundreds of dollars to retain no surprise EA game is pay to win, pay to have fun there are some hero challenges that become nearly impossible unless you have a premade deck built with plenty of specific cards. There are so many glitches. I seriously don’t understand how this game has such a high rating.

I have a friend who i used to play with on this game. However, in one of the more recent updates they made ads pop up anytime, sat for too long AD, finished a match AD, open the game AD, and as of late they are even worse cause they just crash my game everytime. But its not just me, my friend had a older model phone and couldn’t stand the refreshes with his terrible reboot time.

Used to play this with my best friend all the time in middle school when i had a Samsung after i got my iPhone decided i would get back into had too start again ofc fast forward to now i just downloaded it again at 6:34 am thought it would be fun to play an old gem before i rest my eyes only to find out it deleted my progress not even my apple account works not to mention facebook genuinely dont know what tf happened im not starting over again either im jus not playing i feel betrayed I’ve deleted and reinstalled alot of times before this but this time in particular it jus said f me ig anyway thats it hope this doesnt happen to anyone else

Still buggy
I’ve been playing this franchise since the original game came out and this game used to be pretty amazing but they have yet to do any significant updates or fix any of the bugs. I’ve continuously complained and expressed my frustrations with some of the puzzles or recent updates that never get addressed.
RNG
This game is 90% rng, 5% p2w and 5% skill. The daily challenges are also almost always unfair and just straight luck based.

Game way too Unbalanced
This game is practically a cash grab taunting players to spend out hard earned money just so we get some of the better cards and heroes while us F2P struggle to complete missions, earn sparks or get good cards from packs rng just to complete plant and zombie missions also good luck beating cheating ai that gets to use its best decks and spam legendary cards against us F2P who just have basics and uncommon cards struggling to counter and forced to concede the match and the way you earn gems is absolutely horrible watching ad after ad just for 5 gems when packs cost 100-200 yeah “real fair “. fix this !!!!

Extremely pay 2 win plus ads you can’t skip 🥀. The AI on the story mission somehow always has the perfect counter card.
“Zombie tricks” ruins the game
It’s so incredibly unbalanced. Playing as the Zombies is way too easy and playing as the plants is way too hard. One side shouldn’t be guaranteed the upper hand every time.

been playing for 8 years (unc). you cant choose a zombie to freeze for frozen watermelon’s ability. it states you can. fix that please because it costs me hella games as a chompzilla user.
Lack of support team
If you have any issues regarding in game currency, account restoration, or transactions the “app support” which is EA Help, will not support you or find a solution. They will push off the “in game” support. I spent days trying to find a solution, and had to pull teeth and go step by step to understand that they were talking about the Plants vs Zombies EA Forums, not an “in game” support at all.
They never admitted they were wrong and just closed all my tickets.

Another pay to win slopfest
Just like every mobile game ever. You can only progress so far until you need to pay money. Just another pay to win trash game, developed by the greediest scummiest humans on earth. Just like every other mobile game.

Game turned into pixel gun 3D. Making everything who ever spends the most wins the most. Obtaining gems is so hard now with the new update made each challenge you only get 10-20 gems (used to be a weekly challenge reward 100 gems). Game is a hit or miss

Play the game if you hate your life
Every time someone hits me they give me 1 block. Ive had 5 1 blocks so many times. Mind you each block 1 2 and 3 is a 33% chance so multiple times ive had a 1/243 chance of my game being sabotaged by 5 1 blocks in a row. Ea just a bunch of money hungry pigs leeching off they players. Game does not rely on deck or iq it mainly relies on luck. Games like those are ran by demons and other evil entities sucking up your life force and your happiness. Fuh ea I hope yall atone for yall sins one day.

This last update over a month ago made the game unplayable on IOS. Don’t bother until next update

This is a horrible game to grind in, all the ok-decent cards are locked behind paywall, unless you plan to spend 30$+ or play for months to years expect to loose almost every match.

Always luck, and their first update in years makes it even worse!
The first update in years added: no new plants, no new zombies, 30 second ads for rerolling quests (which were previously free), a useless leaderboard, 30 second ads for replaying Events (which were previously only 10 second ads), and balance changes that encourage playing cards that give random buffs that could insta-win or make you lose the game you’re playing.
These past few changes have been nothing but disappointing, and this game was actively in a better state before this update thanks to all the new ads. Yes, it got the update we all wanted with absolutely none of the features we wanted. Thanks, Popcap.

They have restored all cards, all cards lost.WTF! 3 Years,1800+ cards. No respection. Never buy Popcom again.
Need more levels or replay options

And fix the goddamn block meter for Christ’s sake! I can get hit by +6 attack zombies and gain only 3 bars, meanwhile, I hit them with -3 attack plants and they gain full blocks?! What a f*in load of bullcrock!
Just give the zombies all 100/100 atk/hp and all plants 1/1, yeah, that should be fair. Learn to balance or remove the word plants from your title! DO BETTER!!!

Impossible event
Because you had zombot 1000 hide in a gravestone today’s event was impossible please think about the one turn events before you change anything or at least change the event it’s self so it is possible.
Fix the puzzle party
The January 21, 2026 Puzzle Party is literally impossible to beat which completely screws over all of us who need the weekly packs from the daily challenges. After some research I think it’s because one of the cards that are a part of the challenge were changed earlier but the challenge wasn’t adjusted with it. Please fix it.

Just another mess
This game is just too difficult in a short time frame. One minute you are still learning the game and the next you get thrown against opponents and decks way more powerful than you can possibly dream of defeating without spending a pretty penny. This makes 3 PvZ games in a row now that have very much underwhelmed for me.
Unbalanced and terrible
I have been playing this game since its release, but the last few updates have been so horrible. They have completely buffed the zombies and actually have taken away features from the plants that gave us a chance.

Game has online with bots larping as humans , the matches are rigged to keep you at the edge of your sit, predetermined to lose but just barely, the bots are so hidden they even delay plays like humans but eventually expose themselves going from dumb to magic play of the game because they know your deck draws and have the counters flowing in.

The game is fun but is completely ruined by the amount of ads it has. You cannot play one game without getting an ad immediately after. The daily event challenges also require an ad to watch if you don’t want to wait another hour to retry. This would be fine if the ads weren’t A MINUTE AND 30 SECONDS long. The greed of this game is ridiculous and the ad culture needs to change.

The games is fair anymore the super block meter only blicks 1 bar for 5 hits and the starter draw never draws anything with 1,2 or 4 it always 4 cards that cost 4.

I have loved this game for years! Sadly I purchased a new iPhone 17 today and our relationship appears over… It no longer runs, it starts up then just stops. Hopefully there will be a compatibility update in the future.
