Echo chamber
Useless non factual opinionated app
Remove the forced app pop up.
You leave moderation for free users you can leave browsing for free too.
App is always broken
Saved section is never aligned on iPad. And it’s impossible to actually block people now - you get get an error that they can’t be blocked every time.
Bad
Actively making the app worse with every update. So many ads and constant refreshing whenever I return to the app with no way to turn it off.
Reddit is trying to force the app on people
I have always loved using Reddit search results when browsing the web, often including “reddit” as a search term with whatever I’m searching. But Reddit is now refusing to let you view its site in a mobile browser. A pop-up now stops you from reading unless you download the app. This is purely so they can get their hands on your data and invade your privacy. Very disappointing.
Glorified Spyware
Reddit has steadily gotten worse as it became more corporate, but the moderation, data collection, and censorship has gotten to be completely intolerable. I don’t even take it that seriously, I just want to look at cat pictures. But it’s become impossible to support the app.
Forced to Download
Can no longer browse Reddit on my browser. So now I am stuck downloaded this app.
Randomly refreshes
App randomly refreshes while scrolling. Infuriating.
Account required now
God I miss the old Reddit.
For Bots & Trolls
It’s the platform for AI & Trolls. We’ve all seen the memes about Reddit & Discord.
Why do i need your all
I dont like filling my phone with useless bloat, i open reddit when its one of the top results for what im looking for but im about to blacklist it from showing up in my search results because they dont want mobile users using the website anyway. So annoying seriously.
Reddit politics as dumb as the people running it.
I was the biggest defender for the social network, literally using it exclusively because of how other social networks have become but it's surprising how it lives up to its reputation. Reddit mods and Reddit incels are really a thing! You can really be chewed out for being normal and if you ever try to defend your opinion you get banned? The best part is 99% of the subs have a rule where you're not allowed to discuss such things? This is what I get for using a platform seriously? What happened to free speech?
Very Dishonest & Prejudice
I have been a user on Reddit for a little over a year now. I have tried very hard to be a good part of the community from my time in Reddit. I avoid politics and other heavy subjects. I follow cat and dog subs, as well as funny videos.. literally, that’s ALL i engage in. Well, If you make ANY honest mistake, a BOT will punish you. Even after you appeal and honestly and thoughtfully explain your side, and, even if the facts point otherwise, they will chose to punish you out of a loop hole or some obscure way. An actual HUMAN supposedly reviews the appeal, yet, they will ignore the obvious and the actual facts. They won’t use their discretion or treat you with respect. They treat you like a criminal that has to prove themselves, no matter how long or, how much you have demonstrated to be a valuable and kind part of the community. I am considering just deleting my account if i am to be treated like i’m a problem, when i have done the absolute opposite. I HIGHLY recommend not getting involved in Reddit. They have a ridiculous system involving made up “internet points” which they use a bot to determine. They will immediately banned you for a making honest mistakes, and ignore your pleas and truthful explanation. They will ban you before warning you. They will ban you for a single word. They will ban you and even after an appeal, they will ignore you onward and give you no options to explain your issues. You get 250 characters to plea your case, only ONE time for an appeal. You can be as honest as kind and thoughtful as you can, and they treat you like a criminal and a problem. I have done nothing but add to the community and yet, i was punished while just joking around and participating in a fun time. Thanks a lot Reddit, way to punish your honest users who have only good intentions. No wonder only the horrible people are more common than good people..
Latest '26 update ruined the app
If Reddit’s goal was to reduce user engagement, they have succeeded. The most recent update has made the app so unpleasant to use that I now routinely skip opening it. I have never once complained until now.
Atrocious App
Giving PERMANENT banning power to agoraphobic basement dwellers was a mistake. Communities are mostly echo chambers catering to the biased views and opinions of the moderators.

(iOS) (desktop) Disappearing Images in Posts
Hi. Today is May 27 and this has been an ongoing issue in [r/HenryCavill](/r/HenryCavill/). The following phenomenon happens to new posts, as well as older posts that have looked normal for a week or even several weeks. Suddenly some posted photos are just black boxes and when clicked (in the iOS app), an error says "Media has been removed". Oddly, on the website, some of the same post photos show a black box that says "If you are looking for an image, it was probably deleted", but \**sometimes*\* clicking on the image anyway will show the photo. As a Moderator, this is very frustrating. I don't want to leave "empty" posts, if/when they are truly empty. And I don't want to remove posts that LOOK empty to me, but are actually fine despite the Reddit platform issue. However... either way, I primarily use my iPhone, and I don't have time to constantly check every post (new and old) **again**, via the website, from my Mac. Is this issue going to be fixed soon? TYIA.
Today is now June 9 and the above issue is even worse. You just had an update yesterday and didn’t address it. I posted in r/bugs May 27 as well, and I haven’t received any kind of acknowledgment or response there either. I’m ready to shut down the sub and quit moderating for free. My 37,000+ members would have to get the content somewhere else since they CANT EVEN SEE THE PHOTOS HERE ANYMORE ANYWAY.

Negative Review
There is no need to force me to use the app. I prefer browser
Hot garbage
EDIT: now Reddit wants to stop you from accessing the site through a browser, stopping you from reading posts and forcing you to come to the App Store. Report these POSes and refuse to download this crapware.
So reddits mobile app is junk. Crashes, takes forever to load content, but man do those ads load quickly!
Easier to squash the competition like every other better app out there than develop a decent app on your own, huh?

Hers hair loss treatment
This hair loss treatment made my skin itch. I did not like it and stops after a few days. The sides of my hair burned from itching. I thought I’m done. But I did not realize that I was signing up for a subscription. It’s so frustrating to want to try a product and be made to sign up for a sub. I would prefer to try it and pay for it but then choose if I want to continue. I thought I ended my subscription last month but they sent it again. I went back to the app and canceled again. I hope it works this time. I feel like they are stealing trying to make me pay being sneaky.
Ad slop
They got rid of awesome independent Reddit apps to force you to see ads for drugs and surgeries and GLPs every third post, and sponsored slop every 4th comment. Tries to trick you into clicking on ads by adjusting the UI at random moments. So awful. Shame.
Will never download the app
The app constantly crashed so I moved to browsing on the browser on my phone. Now it softlocks and tries to force an app download. I’ll never visit your site again before I download your app.
Hate the new app design - please revert back
Hate this new app redesign designed to make you accidentally click ads. Like why is the Home button constantly shifting? Might just switch to laptop only
NOOO
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS
Turned into trash
Between the AI trash, the censorship, and now having to click “more” to read the post, I’m done with this app. If I clicked on the post obviously I want to read it. Adios, trash app
Why are we forced to download this?
Look the whole app is fine, the choice of having to use the site via the app is not.
Purposefully making the browser worse so you download the app
Reddit devs purposely made the browser unusable so they can force more people to download the app and steal more of their data. What great guys.
App collect personal data
FYI this app track and store all your data down to your location and what you do on google. Yes they store your device information as a digital identification
Mobile site now forces app use
I mostly use the app, but sometimes I prefer to use my browser for a variety of reasons (e.g., opening multiple posts in new tabs from a search result, etc.), and forcing me to switch to the app is absurd. Also, apps are often offloaded when people are low on phone storage. I hope Reddit is prepared to lose users over this choice.
Embarrassing
Multiple times per day, I have to force close and reopen this app because it stops responding to touch events: can’t open posts, can’t vote etc.
It’s embarrassing that such a bug has persisted across multiple app updates for such a popular and well funded app. It’s especially appalling considering that Reddit forcibly shut down competing apps by locking down their API for paid use. If you’re going to make this the only way to access Reddit then at least make it good.

For some reason they keep making it worse
Reddit is desperate to accidentally make you click their ads they keep hiding everywhere. And now for some reason have decide to make you click an extra time to see the full post you just clicked on to read…
Bring back r/all
Regret updating the app now they’ve removed r/all. Used to be nice to get away from my curated feed to see what was most upvoted. Now they have removed that and decreased the value of using this app versus any other way to access the site.
Latest App Version Not working
The latest app version isn’t working. When I try to use Reddit in a browser, I’m repeatedly redirected to the app, and the “Get the app to keep using Reddit” prompt can’t be dismissed. Since the app is broken, Reddit is effectively unusable.
Suggestion: Make the “Get the app to keep using Reddit” prompt dismissible so users can continue using the browser version if the app isn’t working.

Forced app download
Forced to download the app if viewing a forum in safari
Forces me to download using web
I hate this app
Get app to keep using Reddit
How about get bent?
Watch what happens when old.reddit finally goes and we all leave.

Bias
Account got banned defending myself against blatant racism. This platform is definitely anti brown.
toxic echo chamber
everyone's so aggressive on this app it's sad
You won’t let me use my browser
Reddit is first and foremost a website and the fact that I cannot simply open Safari and go on reddit without a pop-up telling you to get the app with no way to exit out of the pop-up is ridiculous. Reddit on a browser is essentially unusable now and that is not cool. Why must you take away the little joys, oh right, for profit and better tracking.
Auto refresh.
They refuse to stop auto refresh when the app is minimized for any reason, completely losing where ever you left off. Ridiculous!
Echo Chamber/Can’t speak your own opinion
Absolutely horrible app full of buffoons who bury any opinion they mildly disagree with. Also, you can’t make ANY reference to the little hat big nose people or your comment gets instantly taken down, & account banned. This app is the opposite of a free speech platform. Also half the people on this app are legitimately crazy
Frustrating app
This app sucks and it has sucked since Alien Blue was forced to be removed. It sucks EVEN MORE now because the algorithm forces useless subreddits I am not interested in, /r/popular was butchered, /r/home is god fail and every other comment or post is an advertisement.
Good job guys, you made reddit suck.

Forcing users
Reddit app is ruining the mobile browser experience. I don’t want an app and now many of the mobile functions are blocked. Frustrating
Idiotic changes, no more Open In App
I used to be able to search a question on Google and get hits for Reddit threads. Then I could click on the thread and it would take me to the thread on desktop. Now, I’m being forced to download the app if I want to continue reading the thread for longer than a few seconds. This wouldn’t be such a big deal, except I already have the app and when I click “open”, it brings me to the home page instead of the thread I was looking at.
So basically, if I’m googling something, I have to avoid Reddit hits or, I have to use Reddit as my search engine to start with. Open in app is no longer an option. It’s unbelievably stupid and I’m going to be deleting the app because I don’t like being forced to download an app and it’s stupid that desktop links aren’t being directed to the thread when I go to the app like they used to.

4 Chan in an alien suit
This app has become the reincarnation of 4Chan. I believe in the burnt toast theory. Good riddance to Reddit.
Here’s an abridged version of my first hand experience as a Reddit user:
I made an account and immediately it was auto banned across like every single sub in existence because I “looked like a bot” that was maddening as I had to constantly appeal to mods about it over and over and over. Finally it ended.
A month or two later I came across a bunch of users genuinely celebrating the death of a cancer patient who stopped chemo to have her baby, leaving the child without a mother, as she immediately died. This is not “Makes Me Smile” material, and celebrating her death that hard is incredibly offensive. I’ve lost people to cancer it’s not cute it’s not sweet and there is nothing good in it whatsoever. It’s disgusting behavior so I reported it.
The mod decided to attack me for “report abuse” in the modmail, going as far as to read my religious views in my bio, then use that information against me in our conversation. They flat out admitted in writing to targeted harassment of me. Then banned me from the whole platform. Appeal. Nope.
Guess who you report a harassing mod to? The mods. Guess who’s going to find no fault with themselves? The mods.
So I deleted my account.
Later I decided: why should I delete my account because of a bad mod being a terrible human, so I made a new account. The mod had IP tagged me, so despite my waiting to use the app then immediately muting their entire sub, I felt absolutely stalked across that entire site and would get banned for the most minor infractions. Here are a couple examples:
-Commented in a video where an animal was viciously and horrifically physically abused that I hoped whatever person did that got hit by a car (I’m paraphrasing, I don’t recall my exact verbiage) Ban. Appeal. Nope.
-Answered a question in a joke sub “what would you name this haircut?” (It was insane looking, it had stories like a skyscraper, and half the hair was missing, I digress) again: on a joke sub, I answered with a joke- “the failed abor(t)ion” auto ban. Maybe the automods just don’t understand a human sense of humor... but I know how this is going to go, because I’m clearly being targeted, I know I’m at the end of my use of this app, so I just deleted it again and started over. One. Last. Try. Perma ban. Appeal. Nope.
It’s like being pulled out of a kiddie pool filled with feces and being told I’m not allowed to go swimming in there. If you’ve read this far, take my advice and don’t download the app. Go make a connection with someone IRL instead.
And to the mod, if they ever see this somehow: I hadn’t hexed you because again, that was a lol in my bio, but I genuinely will if you’d like me to, offer still stands. Just HMU. Keep that shower drain clean honey, and keep your energy moving in the right direction… you wouldn’t want it to land upon your own head three times or anything. 🫣
