I’ll start by saying I’ve been using the pattern app for over 6/7 years and wow. This app used to have every single thing completely free and yall think in 2026 I’m paying Netflix subscription prices for an AI astrology?? The quality has declined horribly. Not only is the new ai based content contradictory to authentic readings, I refuse to pay for it. And refusing to pay for it means all of that once previously accessible FREE content is blocked by a paywall. Prices keep rising over the years as greed formed from rising popularity ruins the intimacy of true astrology. I swear this app is nearly unrecognizable as a long time user because they would rather feed users expensive slop, block the good stuff and converse with a bot that validates everything they say!! Lost a long time user because the app is nothingggg like before tbh :/

AI added and I'm Disappointed
Disappointed but not in the least bit surprised that the developers started using AI prompts and chat in their app. I used to LOVE this app until this very moment when I noticed this. I will be deleting it and looking for a new astrology app that doesn't use AI. There is no place for it in the astrology and spirituality community. It's lazy. Do better.
Shameful additionAI
AI has no place in spiritual, esoteric, and astrological practices. These practices are about authenticity and connection with the world around oneself and beyond.

Puts a negative doom spin on all cycles
I used to love this app until I started seeing how negative and curse like all of the readings were for my life. Every single year every single cycle is a doom and gloom no Hope message. It is the worst app I’ve ever read in my life and made me feel so depressed about my future with no help because of how they interpret all of the cycles you go through. They don’t focus on the positives. They only focus on the negatives continuously. I would never recommend this app for anyone if you want their mental health to survive.
Everything's behind a pay wall
All this app is is incomplete pieces of info. just when it feels like u might get some valuable insight, the content is hidden and you have to pay. Literally everything. This feels intentionally predatory on psychologically vulnerable people.
Connect feature is dead
Update it or get rid of it. What’s the deal? In the FAQ they say “features coming soon” in 2021. Really? Ok Bethesda…
Lost Me At AI
Sorry, but once you start using AI you lose me. It’s a stupid technology that’s advancing the heat death of the planet. Loved the app before it endorsed AI and I look forward to renewing my subscription if they ever remove its use from the platform.
Astrology
An astrology based app that sends random notifications as if there was already a present narrative that has all the answers then when you actually try to go to a reading it wants you to spend a bunch of money on something that all the other “astrology” apps not only do not assume about you, but tell you for free anyway, as the interpretation is intended initially without creating a dramatic conflict/ resolution scenario into your notifications at random times of day on random days of the week.
Money grab
Features of the app that were once free are now behind a paywall. It’s unfortunate because I once enjoyed the insight this app offered. This is how capitalistic greed ruin everything.
Used to be good
Now everything is click bait and you have to pay for a full membership. It’s beyond awful. Also the women’s audio recording is like a Karen speaking and it’s grating
chart calculations are completely inaccurate
i’ve been studying my chart for 10 years now and i would always use Astrotheme to do my chart. that is the most accurate calculator i have found to date. this app, is so incredibly off. i have a 5 planet stellium clustered in my 2nd house and the calculator put 2 planets in my 2nd and 3 planets in my 3rd. and i thought cafe astrology was inaccurate for only putting my pluto in my 3rd at 0 degrees. nothing but a pop pseudoscience app, even costar looks empirically immaculate compared to this.
Where’s the community?
I periodically click on this app hoping that they’ve brought the community aspect back with shared experiences. That was the best part. Now it feels like I’m just opening the app for vague insights and paywalls. Please go back to the original format.

The pattern used to offer much more for free. Now they’ve tightened up on what they’re offering and the price is insanely high for deeper insight

When I first downloaded this app about two years or so ago, it was full of features, frighteningly in tune messages, impactful guidance, and many beautiful messages. Unfortunately, the almighty dollar has become their priority. Messages now, more often than not, are just ploys to sign up at a very expensive price (in my opinion) especially with our economy the way it is. Don’t get me wrong, there are still good messages from time to time, but that’s drastically fading for free users. I understand you need to make money, but there should be an affordable middle ground. I had really hoped this was an app that wouldn’t lose its soul..
Where is the audio go?
Used to love this app but the audio is almost no existent the last few weeks. It was great to listen and yes I pay for the audio version. I’m canceling.
Used To Be
This app used to be such a great astrology app until you started to have to pay for every piece of information. Pretty much the only free thing left is running bonds. They’ll update your pattern and experiences then charge you ti listen to an AI voice explain them to you. It’s not cheap either. Searching for another app to fulfill the pattern sized hole in my heart.
Downgraded
I miss the old pattern from around 2017-2022, was way better. A lot more aesthetically pleasing and just funnier to use in my opinion
Too much of a good thing
I used to really enjoy clicking on this app from time to time and reading. Now I feel like it is so complicated and I really do not like the audio clips.

The AI infestation ruined a good thing
I used to love this app. It was full of great insights, and useful tools. However the move towards AI “enhancements” is perhaps the most misguided thing they could have done. If I wanted a machine to hallucinate details about myself there are tons of options out there for that, but that isn’t what made this app a good resource. It’s disappointing and a very unappealing development. Ditch it and I’ll come back.
Issue with Romantic partner/friend set up
No matter what I do, my boyfriend is set up as my friend instead of romantic partner. I have to change it daily and it doesn't save the setting to romantic partner and provides daily info as my friend which gives different advice than as a partner. This needs to be fixed as a bug glitch asap!!!!
cant use without subscription
i’ve used this app since it was first released, and it was deep and impactful back then. now, its all a money-grab. kinda sucks to see it lose its character. you literally dont get anything out of the free version besides mindless words.
GET RID OF AI
STOP USING AI PERIOD. ESPECIALLY IN AI. You’re not doing it differently. You’re still using AI. You’re still supporting the use of the tech & the use of precious resources of this earth. It’s not even a GOOD ADDITION to the app. It’s not even helpful. GET RID OF IT. You’re not “keeping up with the times”…. I understand you say it’s “carbon positive”… but it’s really unnecessary. As far as the rest of the app goes. I do love it. But AI has no place in the esoteric.

This app really blew everyone’s minds when it started. But something happened in the last few years - the personal transit descriptions are really weak and it just feels like they’re phoning it in.

I HATE this new update. The Time travel aspect was the BEST aspect of the app!!!! You could travel forward and backward. I might stop paying because of this! What a horrible decision

some of the descriptions of transits/ descriptions of qualities end up scaring me instead helping me. i literally woke up a transit description telling me “this is going to be horrible a time period, you need to surrender as imagined worst case scenarios may appear in your life.”
