Don’t let Mullvad TRICK you with the notifications. Anybody knows that any app that use notifications uses the notifications to build a profile on you.
What’s real interesting that you can turn everything off turn off Siri, Search, Notifications, Background App Refresh and anytime you update the app. It turns it all back on those are all things that are used to build a profile on you.
A VPN doesn’t need to have access to Siri doesn’t need to have access to your Notifications to function.
Doesn’t need access to your Search either.
If you don’t believe me research everything on your own.
Also, if you read closely on the apps privacy, notice it even states,” Privacy practices may vary based on the FEATURES you use or your age.”
If the company truly cared about your privacy, they would take more of a front line explaining this and disclosing everything.

Absolute garbage customer support! 🗑️
Do *NOT* download this app and even worse do not pay any money for this app!! They have the absolute worst customer support I’ve ever seen! Thank God I didn’t pay for a whole year membership for this garbage! Go with ExpressVPN, Proton VPN or nord VPN far superior VPN as well with customer support! Battery killer
Don’t know what’s wrong with the app, but it kills my battery and heats my phone. Tracked a ton of usage to it so I downloaded the wireguard app and set up a Mullvad vpn profile on it instead. The wireguard app currently uses an order of magnitude less percent of my battery.
Terrible connection in China mainland
Look elsewhere if you’re traveling to China. Mobile version is barely acceptable and Mac version is straight trash.
Abysmal if needed in China
Honestly it’s constantly dropping, when it’s connected it’s slow. I am barely able to even use Google let alone what I needed it for.

Steady decline in quality
Was great when I started using it a few years ago but over time the service has steadily gotten worse. Getting blocked from common websites like Reddit and Imgur, random disconnects, lots of problems.

Can’t connect
Haven’t been able to connect for days. Tried disabling features down to a default level and tried different countries, cities, etc. It just won’t connect. The app is updated and I’ve tried WiFi, cellular, etc. I’ve also tried restarting my device. I’m wasting money because my time is ticking down without being able to use the service recently. Pretty annoying.
Not currently fit for purpose
This was a great VPN, but since they introduced quantum resistance and DAITA, those two features cause my connection to hang several times per week now while using WiFi. I reached out to their tech support about a month ago, and they told me it was a known issue being worked upon, but instead of being fixed it’s been happening with increasing frequency. I’ve been a customer for about 7 years and always loved the service, but having to constantly fiddle with the connection has worn my patience thin. Hopefully Mullvad can regain its form but it’ll have to do so without me. So long and thanks for all the fish!

Still broken since the last update. VPN just keeps connecting and disconnecting over and over again, while the app claims that the network is not available. Unusable.

Used to be great; seamless connections and no issues. My time ran out yesterday and I paid for another month and updated the app, which increased in price, and now can no longer connect to the vpn on WiFi.

Not a fan
I've been using nord for a year and decided to try something new. This was highly recommended and I don't know why. I can't even access the usps tracking website with this vpn on. None of my streaming apps work like they did with nord. I'm confused on what the benefit is supposed to be. I am glad that you're able to pay for one month if you want. So this way I only wasted about $5.
Changing my rating
Using NextDNS, I have to constantly re-link my ip. Happens every 5-10-30 mins to an hour, it’s infuriating. I don’t like babysitting my phone like that.
Update: after using it for 30 days, I can honestly say this is the worst of the true privacy VPNs. It’s slooooooooooooow. Reconnects constantly and or just hangs. If it does reconnect it will connect to slowest server. PROTON, iVPN are for sure the fastest.

SCAM
This is ABSOLUTELY a scam! It doesn’t work and they claim you get a full refund but good luck getting anyone to contact you to do this! I’ve been trying to get a refund for weeks!! Go with any other vpn!!

WARNING HOT (OVERHEATING)
Literally I have noticed iPhone getting hot when this is on especially when I leave it charging overnight. The culprit is this app. YOU WILL ESPECIALLY NOTICE MORE IF YOU USE MAGSAFE….. even on corded it gets hot as well with time. WATCH IT !!!!! It’s a shame cause I love this app but don’t wanna cook my battery
Internet STOPS WORKING when you run out of time!
I got this von bc it doesn’t have ties to Israel. However it’s prepaid and and when you run out of time and it’s on, the internet on your phone (wifi or cell network) just STOPS WORKING and there’s no notification or anything explaining the issue. It took me forever to figure out why nothing was working on my phone I’m so frustrated!

Huge battery drain
I run it all day. Used 6% more battery on Tuesday, 12% more on Wednesday, 28% more on Thursday, 30% more than average on Friday despite me using my phone the least on Friday. Mullvad is responsible for 36% of my total battery drain. App didn’t receive an update so idk why it’s suddenly doing this 🤷

Connection is always not completed. iPhone shows that VPN is connected, but spinner is in progress in App, and phone has no internet.

Uses way too much battery. Phone went dead first time ever today. Last 24 hours, 72% battery went to Mullvad. Last 10 days, 60% Mullvad. Accidentally left Mullvad off last week a couple days, battery lasted 2 days. They need to fix this.

Poor connectivity
I’ve been using a different VPN, which I liked just fine, but a friend encouraged me to try Mullvad. I used it for about 3 weeks. I really don’t like it. The instructions are simplified to the point they aren’t helpful and don’t explain how to troubleshoot. There’s no clear “killswitch” - it’s very complicated to turn it on. The internet connectivity is bad and it takes sites forever to load. I couldn’t take it anymore - I disconnected Mullvad and went back to my trusted VPN.
Unreliable
Only able to get an actual connection for at MOST an hour a day. Used to work great but slowly and steadily, it became useless
